Is there a version of the Windows client that is not an installation?

All I could find is potcoin-0.8.6.4-win32-setup.exe which tries to install itself....looking for the version you can just unzip and run.

I agree, where's just a plain zip?

Agree. I'm getting install errors  from this file on two different systems. Give us a plan zip file.

What you are looking for is the stand alone Potcoin-qt application, not a .zip file. As far as I know it doesn't exist, maybe the dev can explain why.
I understand that it may be easier for newbies to have an installer but please also provide a version that does not require installation. Preferably before block 280,000 or I will have to stop using the wallet until I can get around to compiling for windows myself.

I would think the easiest way is just the the -qt application. That's how many developers do it now. For example Darkcoin releases a new darkcoin-qt only. Not a .zip or .exe, just the -qt application. Its as simple as replacing a single file every time there's an update.

Loyal PotCoin Supporters,

What you experienced in the price of the coin recently will not abate for long. The coin, the company, and the growth of the cannabis market is here to stay.

Today, RiverRock Wellness begins accepting PotCoin for product purchases, excluding marijuana, including a 10% discount for a limited time. After an initial trial run we expect RiverRock to start accepting PotCoin for all purchases in the near future. Please visit the stores, try out our ATM’s and make purchases using PotCoin.

Thank you for your continued support! It is the miners, investors, and supporters of legalized cannabis for recreational and medical use that have helped us to get this far and we have no plans to slow down.

Sincerely,

, excluding marijuana,

What?  I thought potcoin was supposed to be the solution for dispensaries banking problems.

Are you saying potcoin isn't the solution to the banking problem?

Why is the dispensary not accepting potcoin for weed?

Is it because you might be found guilty of money laundering?

Two more entries into the "marijuana banking" biz:

It's the choice of the dispensary whether or not to accept cryptocurrency for legalized marijuana, and since both are very new they have decided to spend more time evaluating the option. We are working closely with the industry to ensure complete compliance with the laws now and in the future. Again, please have patience. We are working within two relatively new industries where laws and regulations are adapting and evolving and a cautious approach is necessary both for PotCoin and the companies we serve.

This is just backwards thinking. The point of this coin isn't necessarily to solve the banking crisis. Its to create a crypto-currency for use within the marijuana industry. Says so right on page 1. The point of cryptocurrency in general is to remove banks and other third parties (like your precious mediswipe) from the customer <-> client relationship. That's the point of Potcoin, to provide a secure transaction platform within the cannabis community free of third party influence. If it helps with the banking problem then great, but the purpose of the coin is beyond that.

The dispensary doesn't accept Potcoin for marijuana because, well, quite frankly why should they? At this point the market is too new and volatile for them to take such a risk. They are getting ahead of the curve by accepting it on everything else. When its safe to accept for all purchases, they will. And by that time they will have a customer base that already knows what Potcoin is.

Bold print:

Most coins going through a big change like this experience a mine/pump/sell/pump/dump, and then taper off/die. The pattern, so far, is the same. Perhaps Potcoin will survive. The ATM is one of the good things going for it, but it'll need more and more of them deployed not just 1 or 2.

It's merely settling back down to its floor, which was around 500ish prior. I made some BTC, I'm sure others did as well.

For the majority of the network hashrate, price is the most important metric. Unless potcoin owns a large farm.

Im a 24/7 CryptoVein chat lurker and it's been my primary pool since POT's launch. I've never seen doa and reject rates this low on ANY p2pool. Great interface with live graphs and coin switching. I really dont need to log into my miners at all now, I just manage it all from the site.

We have a great group in chat which in itself is why many people stay. Come join us and lets get even more blocks! (I'm greedy)

What portion of their business is non-marijuana?  I can't imagine it's more than 3% of their total sales.
