Anybody know where the devs are getting the funding to launch ATMs?

I'm impressed with the proactive developments of this crew.

Very nice. Very encouraging.

And what exactly is this new contract they supposedly just signed?

Some details would really go a long way, guys.  This is looking very professional, I hope it's not another #ZETscam.
I know a while back they secured a $100000 investment.  I think it was in feb.  Not sure if they received any other investments.  They are the best and most proactive devs I've ever seen. Can not wait to see where this goes!

Wow, I had no idea although I immediately had a hunch they had real backing.

Is there a link or any info for this?  I'm curious who their backers are.  This coin could really explode to the up-side if there is just one major contract signed.

Would be nice if the devs gave us some solid info about their backers and funding.

First post has markup/typo errors that are causing invalid links to wallet downloads and block explorer etc. Not very encouraging for newcomers.

The first post is important, spend a little time to double check your edits.

This coin, POTcoin, has hedge funds or big backers written all over it.  I had the same feeling about Doge which I still think it's a hedge fund coin, maybe an experimental [fine tune the media machine] coin.

Anyway, if I'm right then POT will really start getting a massive media BLITZ  soon so I for one am hoping to buy some coins and hold for a while to see if my theory is correct.

Good luck!

PotCoin price is the problem.  Someone or group is dumping hitting the bid hard keeping the price down.  We need several funds or big investors to step in and buy these coins up.  They are so cheap right now.

The multipool(s) are selling their mined coins daily or every few days. That's what you are seeing in the market that looks like somebody trying to keep the price down.

Those multipools don't just auto exchange them for BTC they usually wait for a rise in the price before they sell them all off. Its going to keep the price of Potcoin down for awhile. Don't expect 3k satoshi again any time soon.

So potcoin will take about another year to mine out at 420,000,000/40/420.

I really believe that had POS been popular when this was launched that it definitely would have gone that route.

To be completely and totally honest with this opinion I'll also state that I don't really hold any significant amount of POT anymore.

That said, dogecoin should be a lesson learned for this potcoin devs. Dogecoin has by far and away the largest community and because of the multipools mine/dump etc the price will never be stable until it is all mined out, which technically is never but with the tiny block reward it is unlikely to be worthwhile.

Blackcoin should also be the same lesson as we'll all learn within a month or two. Going POS without a wide enough distribution may result in scarcity driving price but may also result in a lack of interest and a lack of new miners or investors or most importantly... those who are both.

TLDR the devs should look at the wallet distributions and consider moving to a mixed POS for this coin and greatly lowering the block reward.

You want the value of the coins to be in the wallets of the coin holders, not subject to the whims of the multipools.

Every scrypt coin goes through this. If we change algorithms we will just got through it again when asics hit that algorithm too.

I do like the idea of transitioning to a POS system though, especially as we approach the 420 Million coin limit. I think that could be a major selling point to merchants looking to accept the coin. They don't necessarily want to cash Potcoin out for USD or Bitcoin in a POS system. They could increase their coin's value by holding it until its ready to be spent, much like interest on a Corporate bank account. That could be appealing to a lot of merchants.

I agree POS should be incorporated.  I feel we should go 100% POS and halve the coin at the same time.  Get these dumping miners out of the coin totally.  If we don't do that, we should at minimum halve it and raise the difficulty to where the amount of time it takes to grow Pot you will get the same amount of POT when you mine it.

The coin alone is hard as hell to mine say to get any good amount with just one gpu. 1gpu say 642 khash gets you about 200 coins or less (mostly less) so why people mine and dump makes no sense.

we have pot type products on some of these sites but I was wondering about e-cigarette type devices, cartomizers, and e-juice and if anyone sells it for potcoins. If the smoker didn't want to use the say e-cigarette pen, they could put cannibis oil in the vaporizer instead. I think this would be a good addition to potcoin if it had ecig and other smoking accessories like ecig oils and cartomizers at some of the shops.

POS really is the answer to asic abuse. I would be all in favor of this coin incorporating POS. Let's do it before dopecoin does. How many coins are in circulation currently?

You can always check out the number of coins in circulation at: http://coinmarketcap.com/ for not only potcoins but other crypto currency. Right now they are showing: 88,205,109. At the current rate of about half a cent they are showing a total price for all the outstanding potcoins of: $437,685.
Once the mega-mining ASICs come out it will be a complete waste of time and electricity to mine with GPUs if it stays scrypt.

You cannot trust coinmarketcap for accurate info about total coins in circulation.  I've seen some massive errors, and some were never updated.

It's a good source for a rough idea but if you wanna be sure I would not use coinmarketcap.

Also, POT will eventually have 420 million coins.  That's the figure one should look at anyway.

Good luck!

Dear PotCoin Devs,

I have PM'd you but I haven't gotten any response from any of you.

Can you please post some kind of evidence showing that you have indeed received $100,000 in seed funding?

I have been involved in the stock market for over 20 years and I have NEVER seen secret seed funding rounds so I hope this isn't another ZETscam where the devs say they signed NDAs, and drag people around for months with lies after lies.  I would not buy such a story and neither should anyone else.

Because real proof of such a large seed round [for an alt coin] would be a huge boon for POT and it would turn people like me into hardcore POTcoin investors.

Thank you!

Regards,

Vlad
