It seems there are lots of media exposure of Etherum. That could drive the price up further.

Think about this....if its only $11 per ETH now....what do you think it would be like months from now?  No disrespect to other coins, but this is where the technology is going.  If you're gonna invest or put money in another coin besides BTC....its ETH

That is my thoughts as well. Ethereumm could be the second coin. If it is developed properly, the price will be high.

I use geth --rpc --rpcaddr "localhost" --rpcport 8545

The following is the output, it stays at the last step all the time.

Just check out Gavin Andresen's, who is one of the top heads over at the Bitcoin Foundation, post on reddit this morning:

https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4c9hsi/b1_page_article_on_new_york_times_has_the_word/d1g8zgs

"Any intelligent discussion would be censored here-- the moderators seem to be unable to tolerate the idea that a stifling development culture for Bitcoin might lead to alternatives taking over. I'm not saying that will happen, but it seems like an important topic to discuss."

If this isn't alarming to BTC holders/followers or perhaps a cryptic message to everyone that BTC is in a state of disarray.....i dont know what else can be more telling to hop on board ETH.

Gavin Andresen is in a state of disarray.
Bitcoin != Gavin Andresen
Bitcoin is a public property unlike ethereum which is a company coin of Vitalik & Co.
People buying eth are investors in a private company. Good luck!

https://www.newsbtc.com/2016/03/28/counterparty-founder-ethereum-cant-work-100-hype/

wake up , tho i was telling people this months ago....

"However, smart contracts, which in theory refers to data stored in transaction data on the blockchain are more expensive than conventional data storing methods. More importantly, banks’ model of a permission blockchain-based smart contract enabled application is very similar to a centralized server of data."

"“Ethereum cant work,” explains DeRose. Be wary about endorsing this project, its 100% hype, with no substance. “No one needs smart contracts. And the overhead needed to support this chain will require a *lot* of need. I’ve spent a lot of time studying them. Do you want to give me a case when people need smart contracts? They are not cheap. They are enormously expensive. And there’s no counterparty risk in these applications thus far.”"

Looks like F2pool has been running a pool and will "release" it soon:

https://www.f2pool.com/help

Blocks found by the pool that has not been launched yet...

https://www.f2pool.com/ethereum-blocks

It will be interesting to now compare F2 pool vs the existing early ETH pools like Dwarfpool.

Anyways, we need some compelling balance in the ETH mining universe and avoid current BTC mining dominance by F2 and Antpool.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

It does not need much internet  bandwidth for mining. 1Mb/s is enough for the data transmission. You need low latency.

1 Mb/s seems high? cgminer on btc is like a few Kb/s I think. I was hoping much less as Im wireless internet (think 3g). Ill be just mining and trading eth for btc as I go. hope not to need the full blockchain.

guess Ill find out

You misunderstood what he wrote.

Looking at the logs, my rigs are pulling about 15Kb/s each .
