What's the latest ETA on the update?

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=437950.msg4984437#msg4984437

Update rollout is today, 7th Feb., 20:00 GMT.

Would be good to get a recap somewhere of what is happening and when, and what people need to do.  I'm happy to have a go at writing it up, but need some more data.

As I understand it the plan is the update will be rolled out at 2000 hrs GMT tonight, Feb 7.

Pool and mining impact:

Pool owners will need to update their pool wallets with the new wallet.

Questions:
Will the pool go down while the update happens?
Will miners need to re-start/change their miners or will they continue as normal?

Individual users:
Individual wallets will need to be updated to the new client.

Questions:
1. Where are the new wallets going to be available from (for each OS)
2. I assume it is the usual grade process - backup wallet.dat and cryptographic anomaly.conf; delete the other files; download and start the new wallet?
3. Any changes to nodes?

All users will need to update their clients as soon as possible to avoid being on the wrong side of the blockchain when the new block reward kicks in at 15,000 blocks.
Pools will temporarily go down while the pool operator installs the new software, but it shouldn't be long.
Miners should be able to keep their miners (cgminer, pooler's cpuminer, etc) running, but there could be hiccups.

s4wd0ff will be hosting the wallets on the new CGAnomaly website as I understand it. We still need someone to compile a Windows wallet for us! I will give a 1CGA reward to whoever can do this for us consistently every update or teach someone else.

The upgrade process is like any other. Backup files, install new software, restart the software, you should be done.

I may have to reduce the bounties dramatically once CGA hits an exchange Wink

There is also a very nice, simple and clear website about p2pool mining: http://whatisp2pool.com/

Maybe you can put this also in the opening post, so people understand the benefits of p2pool, sawedoff?

Definitely. You may want to amend your bounty to exclude people copy-pasting a generic windows compilation tutorial link here. It should be a working tutorial for building Cryptographicanomaly-qt and cryptographicanomalyd for Windows, with the working binaries. Otherwise, I or anyone else could get 100CGA for a few minutes on Google.

The latest version of the CryptographicAnomaly QT (1.1.1.2) is now available.  The QT can be downloaded from http://www.chainbrowser.com/qt/CryptographicAnomaly.zip

I also sent some github modifications to the dev that will make it easier to compile in the future.

Any tips are appreciated, but none are necessary: ASiYDyfaj6CGvEmwddvH64ob9ABj32Jn6R

Thanks Smiley

Now available without port addition: http://anomalypool.com/

I also installed a hardware load balancer for HTTP and TCP (+Stratum), am I professional too now? Cheesy

@sawedoff: Please update the url in the opening post, thank you!

@Snard: Thank you very much, I'll send you the bounty as soon as I downloaded and installed the wallet after update-rollout (20:00 GMT 7th Feb.).
