and where can we get one that does flag a virus!?
They are "working on it";
http://www.maxtalk.org/index.php?topic=146.0
http://www.maxtalk.org/index.php?topic=139.0

Don't want to risk it? Don't run it.
Didn't KAV flag Bitcoin wallet too? That is, while it was still using IRC seeding.
bitcoin and litecoin and tag and any other wallet ive used never been flagged.

they are working on it and having been for past 2 months? still there, plus the max coin website is down AGAIN.
And i checked the source which seems fine - just have issues complieing it on a windows based system! - but that doesnt mean a compiled version cant get infected before its uploaded!

and thankyou for some explantion of why still dont get it though. Still not sure though.  it shouldve been fixed, if the devs where serious about it it wouldve been fixed and shouldve. Espcailly after the not so long ago "so called thefts" from wallets. its disappointing especailly wiht the site being down - doesnt look good.

Not taking sides here, but 'working' means submitting the binary to AV companies for whitelisting and then waiting indefinitely. There is really no way to speed up the process unless you are a well known company or just plain bribe them to do their work.

Wow such bullshits here:-)
But you forgot one thing.
If i am miner then Maxcoin is deep shit coming to die. When no profitable its means No miners no coins,no interest and only final stage. As many others coins which is now dead or almost dead.

If i am trader i have lot of much better coins with much more pump and dumps to earn profit and in this point MAxcoin is no interest.

Buy now MAX and holding bag  will let make me very nice loses.

If you trust that MAxcoin will skyrocket ,its your opinion.I not agree.
Its simple name someone idiot but in my view you are more idiot than peoples which you point.

Sorry for my bad english and grammar i am not native english spoker.

PS:look on DRK,much much BTC volume per 24H.better X11 algo such energy eeficient. You can do more profit as miner, more profit as trader and maybe more as bag holder. Why interest of MAX when better coins is here?
Or DOGE which have such great community and devs support?About this MAX can only dream.

The difference between our investment strategies is clear. You want to profit from pump & dumps, in which a minority of market participants collude to drive the price up and subsequently rip off people who have bought in at the peak, leaving them holding the bag as you skip merrily on your way to the next scam pump. I want to profit from the long-term appreciation of cryptocurrencies that I truly believe have the potential to reach critical mass and gain widespread adoption. I want to profit by providing services to these fledgling ecosystems while simultaneously creating value in the process. What you do is to steal value from other traders in a zero-sum game where profits come from the losses of others. These investment strategies are worlds apart, and I wouldn't call your method an 'investment', what it is is overt financial FRAUD. You could go to jail trying to pull of this scam in the existing capital markets.

I have faith MaxCoin will appreciate in value, as long as the network hashrate is maintained. You can see for yourself that MAX is currently being mined with a total of approximately 3TH/s, so it is FAR from dead. As long as the hashrate remains relatively stable, then MaxCoin WILL increase in value over time as it it is an inherently deflationary currency that is specifically what it was designed to do.

Darkcoin? Seriously? One of the most scammy coins that has been released to date. That is what you have faith in? Ok mate, you stick to DRK and leave MAX for the people who are in this for the long term. People who use your strategy might have some limited success in ripping off a few people and making a couple of coins, but it is people who invest over the long term who REALLY become rich by contributing towards the ecosystems of these coins. Pumping a worthless penny-alt to outrageous prices in a short period of time IS a fools game.

I see more potential in MaxCoin than about 95% of all the other crapcoins that people are peddling now. You have to make your bed at some point and dig in your heels to take a long term position. This is the only way to be successful over the medium-long term.

You guys thinking that the hashrate and the mining are the ones making a coin successful or not are so funnyyy Smiley)))

Typical miners' mentality Smiley

MaxCoin Pools: block progress over hash rate
Higher hash rates (vertical axis) typically result in more blocks found (more dots along horizontal axis).
Density of dots is indicative of luck - closer together is greater luck, further apart is lower luck.
Luck is a ratio between % of blocks found and % of network hashrate claimed and should ideally hover around 100%.
MaxCoin Pools: blocks found last 24hMaxCoin Pools: 7-day luck

Mining and pool takes (indicative, not authoritative)
The previous day, 2,862 blocks with an average reward of 48 MAX were found on the network for a total of 127,157.87 MAX distributed.
At an average network hash rate of 2,329,536Ghash/s, a miner having 1Ghash/s would have earned approximately 58.97412 MAX (minus pool fees),
that could be traded for BTC0.0068262548 ($3.02)

Most of the coins in the alt coin section are scams

Max coin will be around as long as people are willing to be ripped off

There is a sucker born every minute

Just to be clear, you are promoting cinnamon coin right? I suggest that you are promoting coin by going on threads and calling other coins scams.
Allthough the launch was questionable sha3 is not a mystery to mine. There are so many more questionable launches and coins, are you barking up their tree too? Blackcoin,Whitecoin and the general new fad "no ipo, limited Pow, Pos" or country coins like spain coin with no spanish website.

Maxcoin is not a pump and dump 3 month coin, is cinamoncoin?

Let's be honest , maxcoin was pumped by the tweets of max k beyond the actual price that this coin has due to it's use.
Just like the other coins you mentioned in the early stage the price was all hype , driven by greed and fairytales.

"Although the launch was questionable"... HAHAHA, thanks for the good laugh man. Yes, it was a little tiny bit questionable.
Thousands of miners waited days to mine this coin, most of those miners were people that mainly supported this coin because they liked Max and his ideas and off course why not try to earn some money by being there early. But on the moment that the mining should start only Max, side-kick retard Stacy and his DEVs were able to mine as they only launched a Linux miner that could only be run on a specific Linux distro, not even all Linux OS. It took several days before the average Joe could start mining with it. Max is the biggest hypocrit of all times. Instead of apologizing for this retarded launch he tweeted that according to him the launch was perfect.

That is why a large part of the Crypto community will never invest in Maxcoin, that is why respected exchanges like Mintpal will never add Maxcoin and that is why Maxcoin will never be big.
No matter how many times that idiot Max tweets about it.

But if you think this coin has a lot of potential feel free to invest all your BTC in it, don't let me stop you.
The charts indeed clearly show this was not a pump and dump coin....  Shocked

I was mining on windows AND on my Mac within the first 24 hours.
I'm an average joe. You must be a below average joe, because I had no problem.
Next...

I call bullshit... in the first 2 days of launch there was only linux source code available which you had to compile yourself... It was a bitch to compile it under windows but I did get it working by the second day and I am a developer with 10+ years of experience in windows Dev (but a newb with linux) so I am certainly not Average Joe and even I had troubles.... secondly there was no GPU miner for many days after that. First it was cuda then openCL... all cobbled together by the community with nothing provided by the devs... and to top it all off... virtually no working pools for many days after that because they were all being taken down by DDOS.

BCX has also came out in support of this coin.

Again I call bullshit...

BCX has been slamming this coin since day one... when did he magically turn around?

Offcourse it is bullshit. This the strategy of the retard Max Keiser. He has a lot of sockpuppets and a lot of other idiots that bought the Maxcoins in the first weeks and are now trying to "save the coin".

On Twitter there are also a lot of fake accounts like "maxcoingirl" that are paid to promote this shitcoin.

Evertyhing I said in my previous posts I can prove with the twitter posts of "maxcoinproject" from around that date.
Good luck holding your shitty maxcoins!

maxcoin girl is probably stacy.. its hard enough getting women into cryptocurrency let alone MaxCoin.. max probably had to buy her lots of nice dinners to get her to post... lol

as for the devs... where are they?. they haven't done anything but retweet for weeks..... too busy pissing up all the maxcoin kickbacks they got at the uni pub I'm guessing...

Butthead: "he he he Bevis!"..
Beavis: "he he he what butthead?"
Butthead: "Maxcoins rule.... "
Beavis: "yeah maxcoins rule.... he he"
Butthead: "Free beer and porn.... he he he he"
Beavis: "yeah free porn... he he... watch this...."
*pulls his maxcoin t-shirt over his head*
Beavis: "I am Pornholio... I am pornholio!:
Butthead: "he he he..."

Sorry I just got bored of watching my maxcoins tank.....  Shocked

1) Windows and linux miner sources plus compiled wallets were available for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms right from the start.
2) 1GH and ypool both had working minerd executables available for download from their pool websites in very short order for those unable to compile the source themselves.

That was several days AFTER launch which was already delayed more than 48 hours... that was not within 24 hours... and did you forget to mention YPool dropped maxcoin within days too so their miner became useless because it only works with ypool.

3) Cudaminer was also available almost from the get-go. There is even a section in the latest version of the cudaminer readme that verifies this if you cared to check.

actually no it wasn't.. some guy was selling it to a select inner circle untill someone else released it to the community several days later if you cared to actually check.

4) It's not the devs fault the early pools got DDoS'd

No but having enough pools ready so that DDOS cant screw your coin launch by shutting them all down at once is a no brainer. Its called redundancy.

5) "all cobbled together by the community" - you have been a dev for 10 years yet still don't understand the concepts of community driven open-source development?

open source code is usually developed by academics and enthusiasts not professional developers and certainly not windows developers like me. launching a coin with working miners and working GUI wallet is a prety darn obvious first step for a high profile launch.

Someone clearly enjoys calling bullshit on stuff he patently knows nothing about:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=601493.0

Oh Really? well someone clearly enjoys posting links to threads that they know nothing about..
How about you go back and read what BCX actually says on that thread.

The only thing that has changed in my opinion is that Maxcoin isn't dead and will make a huge comeback.

I fucking hate Max Keiser but I do have to admit he has the star power to promote a crypto coin if he wants and he has clearly indicated to me, he will be back.

~BCX~

Sure looks like he supports Maxcoin, I think you will find that his position changes with the wind depending on whether he is buying or selling. That has nothing to do with supporting maxcoin at all..

Pathetic.

yes you are, bcx was clearly benefiting financially from his posts... so who is paying you?

and if you know so much about the inner circle of the maxcoin group why didn't you answer my question... where are the devs and why aren't they talking?

EDIT.. oh no wait.. there is one post from the devs on that thread by BCX... wow 1 post in how many weeks.. (or is it months?).....

I am upfront and honest about my motives. I am invested in MaxCoin and I am developing services within the ecosystem. I want to help it succeed and I am defending it's reputation out of SELF-interest. Nobody is paying me. A better question is why do YOU hate MaxCoin to such an extent that you are willing to waste your time trolling this thread? What interest are YOU serving?

Dishonest criticism stands out like a sore thumb.

In my honest opinion, MaxCoin does not deserve the bashing it is getting from people like you. Perhaps thats why the devs have remained silent in the face of this irrationality. They do not want to have to stoop to level that you are willing to in other to further your own interest. Most of the criticism MAX has received is not even worth the effort of responding to.

Mate I wasnt bashing Maxcoin I was being critical of you for speading BS and sugar coating what was a horrid launch.
The launch was far from fair and easy for the average Joe and you know it so cut the crap.

From day one max shiester and the devs have fostered a culture of greed.. and in the end you reap what you sow.

If you want clear examples of this then go back and look at Max Kaisers early tweets.. he said stupid things like "Maxcoin cap to hit 20 million in a few months" and "Fairest launch ever" and all this while there were reams and reams of complaints from users on this thread. just go back and read it before you go calling me a liar.

so many people got sucked into the hype which came directly from Max Kaiser and lost lots of their time and money so who could blame them for being angry?

I haven't lost any money yet so I'm not one of those angry people... but I really dislike people who live in ivory towers and live in blissful ignorance while everyone else ends up shovelling through shit.

if you want further proof of the greed culture within this community... keep reading this thread and see how many nice people actually go about helping each other... everyone is in it for themselves....  right up to the point that they even managed to get the devs to halve the block reward so that current coin holders benefit while future miners get screwed...

and even with the threat of having their coins spent by a 51% attack, people wont even move off 1GH because all they want is as many coins as they can get....

I don't have to give you more examples.. you can just go back and read it all for yourself and just keep reading as the plot unfolds.. or you can just keep on living in blissful ignorance and have people calling you out every time you say something that is clearly contrary to most peoples experiences.

If you want to heal and grow this community that's your prerogative... but you wont win any fans by ignoring all the problems and sugar coating everything... and the devs + mr shiester certainly wont win any trust by hiding in the corner and not answering to their critics.

is it too much to expect a little professionalism from a team which is fronted by a guy who has his own tv show and claims to have invented virtual currency?

unlike you I am not "SELF-interested".. I serve the community by telling it like it was..
I just call BS when I see it.. stop talking BS and ill stop calling it.

and yes I do post memes for comical entertainment.... but that's hardly trolling... its just to make people laugh so they don't get too serious and bitchy about everything that is said on forums by random pseudononimous people that they have never met and are never likely to meet....

Only one pool is finding blocks, and the wallet moves slower than a glacier.
Well, that's not true - there's 4 major pools, with 1gh clearly being the biggest;
(click for large)

Were you going to mine with the client, though?  I'd imagine the external miners would be more efficient - and you wouldn't have to worry about how far the client has synced.

I mined at 1GH. Tried several others. I was using a rental. I generated an address with the client for payout. I shut it off after about 9 hours of it jacking up my bandwidth to download something like 100 blocks.

If there isn't a blockchain download, then I'm just out 27 coins. If the client is this slow to sync, after just a few months, then I can't see any reason why I would mine it again. It's profitablity is highly variable. It could easily become valueless before the client syncs. I should have known when the official website was not available, and I had to search the internet like crazy to find a viable download.

Lesson learned.

The truth is you are the one of many who are jacking up others' bandwidth with your outdated Maxcoin wallets. Fucking morons. How
about bookmarking Maxcoin GitHub and then occassionaly do a check to see if there is a new, updated wallet posted there?

i was just running around in circles trying to figure out what the deal is with my wallet lol
It's old and didn't want to load up and i was having a hard time finding info about on update on Max's site or on the OP's original post here.
In defense of people like me it would go along way if they updated that shit to let new guys who come along etc there was a wallet update.
There is too many shit coins we can't be scouring Github all the time for possible future updates..
especially when most never get one lol

MaxCoin Pools: block progress over hash rate
Higher hash rates (vertical axis) typically result in more blocks found (more dots along horizontal axis).
Density of dots is indicative of luck - closer together is greater luck, further apart is lower luck.
Luck is a ratio between % of blocks found and % of network hashrate claimed and should ideally hover around 100%.
MaxCoin Pools: blocks found last 24hMaxCoin Pools: 7-day luck

Mining and pool takes (indicative, not authoritative)
The previous day, 2,863 blocks with an average reward of 48 MAX were found on the network for a total of 124,659.50 MAX distributed.
At an average network hash rate of 2,107,062Ghash/s, a miner having 1Ghash/s would have earned approximately 65.22251 MAX (minus pool fees),
that could be traded for BTC0.0068914105 ($3.08)
