I Just read this in other thread: And if this happen then toke is far away for anyone to give any competition so he will definitely have the first prize and for rest of the positions I think we will have a good fight until the end. Toke is like Liverpool in this season LOL A weird choice of teams to choose to play, especially when relegation is potentially much more important to the English teams than Europe competitions at this stage (it's worth a lot more guaranteed money, whereas they could KO early from Europe). Anyway, yeah, toke, you can donate some btc to me when Liverpool get crowned champs. I actually still have a nice bet waiting to cash out too (Liverpool winning the season).

Currently we have stick locked down in dozens of countries so I am feeling most of peoples are really frustrated and bore but they cannot do any thing as safety is priority for all of us.

I'm almost certain they will finish it. The question is just when? I wouldn't be surprised at all if they didn't play it this year. Maybe even towards the end of the year is optimistic. As I've said before, as soon as whenever they would be able to start they should just resume it and then maybe just start the next season the week after or have a short break then straight back into the new season. I suppose it depends on when they would be able to resume it as they'll need to take into account finishing for before the start of other tournaments like the EUROs. It makes much more sense to just pause the leagues indefinitely and just carry them on when they can. Cancelling will cost them too much and also lead to many lawsuits. Liverpool will miss out on a title they have essentially already won and teams will miss out on promotion like Leeds so it's very unfair to just void the league. Also, if the league isn't completed the PL will owe many multiples of millions in TV money they have to pay back. I suppose they could maybe work out a deal with money off for the next bulk lot of TV rights or something but Sky is already losing a lot of money because of this and contractually they can get their money back if the league isn't completed: https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/sky-sports-customers-set-to-save-on-bills-until-premier-league-returns-1.4215760Jeeze: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8163853/Premier-League-face-1-2billion-hit-season-abandoned.htmlDoubts have been raised over whether the Premier League are insured for the £762million they would owe Sky and BT if the season is not completed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Senior officials in the game do not believe that the Premier League or other major European leagues in Italy, Spain or Germany are covered against potentially crippling financial losses.
The gargantuan sum would be because of a breach in contract terms agreed for domestic and international television rights. £762million owed just to Sky and BT sports alone. Then there's all the other countries rights. The PL and Sky could end up falling out over this if there's lawsuits which could be huge for when the TV rights go for up for auction again. I was hoping companies like Amazon or Dazn end up out bidding Sky/BT or them at least getting more games. There was even talk of Facebook maybe even throwing their hat into the ring at some point. Companies like Amazon and Facebook can easy afford to do this.

Hopefully the numbers of new cases per day start to drop. Most governments are releasing data & graphs that show how many new cases per day. When the numbers drop & the curve starts to flatten we will then be able to look forward to football beginning again in a few months.

I'm not one to hope the stairs fall on the guy who's just fallen off them (saying in my country) but you know what? This could end up being a good thing with knockon effects. The last global recession hardly dented football income or transfer fees or TV deals, but this time could be very different. I would LOVE to see one of the other guys get more games and expand services more. I like Sky but being unable to access it -- and I don't even live in a remote corner of the world -- lately opened my eyes to how ridiculously impossible it can be to legitimately access rights to view.

I like Sky but being unable to access it -- and I don't even live in a remote corner of the world -- lately opened my eyes to how ridiculously impossible it can be to legitimately access rights to view. Well I tend to agree. Most people seem to have a dislike of Sky over here for numerous reasons. There was also talk that BT were going to drop their already limited coverage of it when the rights came up for renewal. Those games that BT lost would probably then be open to the highest bidder and I'm sure amazon and dazn would have bid on them. They could even end up out bidding Sky for the lot. Sky and the Premier League have a pretty tight-knit relationship right now though and as they've been in business for years and neither party wants to piss the other one off, but this could easily throw a spanner in the works. The PL really won't want to pay that money back but Sky isn't just going to let them get away with not showing matches especially when they have a contract that says so. Sky Sports really depend on the PL rights but the PL know there's more money to be made by just putting them out to auction and letting the highest bidder win but they usually always do a deal that is beneficial to Sky as they've been in a comfy relationship for so long. Ideally, the Premier League should just create their own streaming service or TV channel and become like their own Premier League Netflix. They can cut out the middle man and still sell to all around the world without the need for each country to bid for rights. They would actually make a lot more money doing this it's just whether they have the balls to do it right now, but eventually everything will be going the streaming route as TV becomes outdated so I'd rather this happen sooner rather than later. I've never paid for Sky as I think it's a rip-off and they don't even show all the games anyway, but that's why sites like Dazn are brilliant. They currently show all the games live and on demand and all for around £100 a year. You'd probably get two months of Sky Sports for that and that's why I think the PL should just make their own service. I would happily pay for it as long as it wasn't ridiculously expensive. If they had prices comparable to Netflix I think that would be idea. Tifo is a good football youtube channel to watch. They have done a great video on the future of the TV rights and streaming etc with the theoretical numbers crunched as to what sort of revenue it would bring in if the PL did their own streaming service: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5jqCh3Eiq0

Well, Superbru doesn't want to wait long, they opening virtual Premier League there with results from a computer simulation of Fifa 20. I just received an email. It's a normal Superbru football predictor tournament, except: It will start on Tuesday 7 April at 15:00 BST with Virtual Liverpool v Virtual Norwich There will be one round per day of the original Premier League fixtures until May 14th The matches will be run as computer simulations in tournament mode on FIFA 20, using up-to-date squads and form... and we'll even simulate a January transfer window. If you don't know FIFA, it is strikingly accurate and will produce realistic results Our social media team will keep you up to date with form and team news We are even aiming to live stream big matches via YouTube You can set up pools and earn honours like normal What are you thinking about that? Live stream on Youtube

I got this email too, but didn't noticed it earlier because it wasin advertisements folder. As I understand, all these games will be played by bot? I doubt that I'm going to predict results of these games or watch it. I'll rather wait until real football will resume. And for now I'll just watch some classic matches.

snip Same here, but directly to my inbox. And meanwhile I joined quite a number of Pools , Premier League, Italian and Spanish League, so I'd guess this was sent to all users in any football pool. Due to the stark boredom I've witness over the past fews weeks, I think I might be joining to make predictions only with nothing to lose.

There are people who actually bet on these computerised games. Skybet do them. I remember once they gave me a free £1 or £2 bet to place on them. I think it was some match like Real Madrid vs a shit La liga team near the bottom and you just watch like the match play out like it was LMA Manager 2002. Anyway, I bet on Real and they lost haha. No idea who gets desperate enough to bet on these. There's enough football going on to bet on... or not so much right now but you gotta be pretty desperate to start betting on fake football.

That virtual football is something I will not be touching. I am not watching it and definitely not betting on it. In these times without actual sports to bet on I have turned on to esports and I must say I am quite pleased with the results for now. There is a lot of surprises and since my bets tend to shift more to underdogs and chasing of high odds that suits me perfectly.

What's the latest on the league? I think it could be back earlier than expected and the whole outbreak is mostly fud.
Edit: Well not 'fud' but overblown.

Regarding the TV deals - I feel we are getting closer and closer to a 'NBA season pass' kind of deal. Premier league is huge, audience is so big and content-wise it is still lacking.
If you have NBA or NFL league passes, you will know what I'm talking about. These are great, I always wanted the Premier league to go that way and maybe these legal problems could force them into taking that kind of approach a bit faster.
League pass content can be viewed at any time, on any device, and has a ton of extra stuff to read/watch. If it costs like 100$ per season, they would get to a few billion $ easily just in Europe.

this is an ideal scenario. the number of new infections still needs to decreases. Is it possible for all players and teams to be constantly quarantined for two months that they do not spread the infection among themselves? Maybe is not directly related to football and Premier League, one major sporting event with so long tradition was cancelled. Official statement

Yeah, but what about the Premier League. Obviously finishing them at some point is preferential to most and for multiple reasons, but it's the question of when that can happen. Worst case scenario is it could be a year from now before play is allowed to resume safely. Maybe even longer than that. Who knows. There's really no end in sight right now. Regarding the TV deals - I feel we are getting closer and closer to a 'NBA season pass' kind of deal. Premier league is huge, audience is so big and content-wise it is still lacking.

Well that's what I've been wanting for a while, but doesn't really bother me as I get that from dazn right now, but there's a few hoops to jump through like finding a proxy and getting someone to set it up for you in the country that you want it in. I'd much rather pay a little more and go the "official" route. The trouble is, in the UK unless the change the law they can't show the 3 o clock kicks off on TV but it's such an outdated rule and needs to be changed and I'm sure it will be at some point but I hope it's sooner rather than later. this is an ideal scenario. the number of new infections still needs to decreases. Each player controls their own game version of themselves and at least they can be played from home . That would actually be fun to see.

Agree with you, hundreds of thousands of people die from normal flu every year. Old people die of pneumonia regularly, I think it’s all overblown. I’m getting really frustrated with the restrictions put on us too, this can’t end soon enough.
