You want to bet that there will be a big transfer during the summer or that it won't? If you think there won't be, shoot some odds and if they're good, I will take it.
We can say 50 mil GBP, yes. It will be hard to name a team that will pay that in the current market state but there will be some players for sale (like Coutinho for example) so I'm thinking there will be at least one big transfer.
Could also be Werner to Liverpool but that one will probably be under 50 mil. GBP.

I think yeah, anything above 50 million pounds is a big money deal. Put it this way, if your club spends 50 million on a player and he flops would you be disappointed?

And yes, with Newcastle on the verge of sealing black gold deals, you bet there's going to be a few big transfer requests splashing around. It all depends now on whether player and club agrees. I saw a rumour of Pogba to Real today, 70 million pounds. I think Pogba will definitely leave Man Utd this summer so that could be your first big transfer this summer boys. Also I think Timo Werner definitely goes somewhere & Sancho will be going for huge bucks.

Sorry guys...  I don't think any huge transfers are gonna happen this summer.  I made the bet like a couple weeks ago at the football transfers thread but no one bit.

It's gonna be all loan deals mostly fo sho.  It's also gonna be interesting how the current mid table clubs go vs the top 4 next season.  Wolves could break through with that squad imo.

Wouldn't surprise me if some of the bottom teams push for voiding the league. They could cause some trouble if they can't get all the teams to agree on how to proceed, though if they took a vote they'd likely be overwhelmed.

Whatever team gets relegated they'll just complain it's unfair whatever happens. If they play behind closed doors they'd probably blame that. I wonder what difference it makes playing in a handful of venues rather than just playing them as they would be. Keeping the entire PL squads close together doesn't sound like a great idea and it might be better to keep them apart.

If (as expected) the season restarts & concludes in full then there will definitely be 3 teams relegated. All the lowly sides are moaning now but I’d expect nothing less. There’s no advantage or disadvantage to any team, it’s all behind closed doors.

Some of the lowly sides are bitching about not being able to play at home. Let me just have a quick look via google at their supposedly great home form that might help them get the points needed to stay up.

Well, there is a disadvantage in the sense that they wont have the home advantage, but all teams will have to deal with this (assuming if if goes ahead on neutral grounds) so it shouldn't matter, but you can bet those teams that get relegated will have a cry about it but everyone is in the same boat. You have to adapt and play where you can.  Maybe they will cancel the relegation spots like they did in Belgium but I don't think they should. It's a little easier to do in Belgium though because they only have one team relegated/promoted. If teams do cry about this it's basically just being sore losers.

^ ^  You can't really blame them.  Relegation means less money next season which prolly could be short by a couple of months (so lesser money).

I just want either a restart or just end the season as is.  Clubs that go down, goes down.  Clubs that go up, goes up (Bielsa's Leeeeds!  Yay!).

It is normal that the teams will try to get all the possible advantages. The thing that I do not understand is that there will be no home advantage without fans.
OK, some stadiums have smaller playing fields so it's easier to defend for let's say Brighton at home than away but no teams will be having huge disadvantages and that's the only thing that matters.

It isn't possible to find the perfect solution and a fair one will have to do, and this is a fair option. No relegation is not fair as well - the season will be completed.

Personally I think even considering this is silly. Either play the full games or don't. I understand changing venues etc but rules or playing time is overkill. If it's potentially dangerous to play then they shouldn't be playing 45 or even 5 minutes.

I really can't see football getting going anytime soon as much as I want it to start asap. If there's still high risk to people then they really shouldn't be playing contact sports with multiple people. I can understand things like boxing or MMA where there's three people in a ring which can easily be tested, but nearly 30 people on a pitch isn't going to work. Unless the virus dies down anytime soon then I can't see anything happening. Even worse would be if they attempt to start it and just completely botch it and players start getting ill etc and then it has to be cancelled.

Nice to see some managers not trying to take the easy route out. Norwich are very bottom of the league as well and will struggle to survive.

Less than 45 minute halves is a ridiculous idea, if they can’t continue with a normal game of football (minus the fans) then they might as well cancel it all. Ridiculous idea to consider shorter games imo.

I don't think this has as much impact now as it had in the past. Regulations for pitch sizes have been quite narrowed down during the years and differences are now much smaller then it used to be. Surface can still be a bit different especially in leagues where clubs use artificial grass but I believe that is not the case in England.

To you (the viewer) you mightn't see any difference but to the players, there's a big difference especially to the average footballer and I think it's mostly phycological. You can't just compare playing at home to away, the comfort of playing on a pitch you're already used to as a result of constant training, mindset etc. Only few professionals perform perfectly home and away.

Probably just some random thought and nothing serious because I can't see myself watching a match that's less than 90 minutes (full time) preferable, the players just use penalty shootouts to decide then lol.

@hilarious: yeah read it too. A lot of things I can agree with. Closed doors. 5 substitutions. 30-day stretch to play all games. But I don't get the purpose of less playing time. Once you're on the field already, why for?

@LFC: LES DO IT!!! I watch the IG stuff from Pool and they look like they're yoga-ing a lot and having fun, I'm gunning for us being the fittest out of the blocks too =D

@Cryptopreneur/Trofo: I wasn't even a pro player but when I played in the semi-amateur league in my capital, pitch difference is huge. Even artificial and natural grass. Type of grass. Mown or not. Muddy or not. Hard or soft, sandy or clay. It changes how outcomes happen differently from training. Injuries. Ask EPL teams to play at Lowe leagues with mud and puddles and they can't do their tiki takas anymore. Atmosphere I can't say, we never had a huge crowd anywhere and I was never lucky enough to play a proper club. But pitch length, grass, ground, all very important over 90 minutes!

I agree. It is probably suggested because there will need to be a lot of games played in a short period of time so they need to look out for potential injuries and tiredness. After all, the players are completely out of shape.
I still don't like the idea at all - in my opinion full games need to be played. Clubs will just have to manage and make use of their squad depth.

Yup, agreed it is an advantage. But as already said - we cannot have it perfect, we just have to make it fair enough.
Same conditions to all clubs is fair enough in my opinion. I also think that the biggest concern for clubs in relegation zones will be a lot of games in quick succession, not the stadium where it will be played.
