Nice!! I am more then ready for 8 hours of Premier League action in a row, just a bit concerned it will be too much if it starts with day like that. You know after such long abstinence eight hours could be overdose. Hopefully, we will get a nice Friday evening match to get the taste of it and then full program on Saturday and Sunday

Do you guys know any good divorce lawyers, have a feeling I will need to talk to some of them after my wife sees me locked in front of TV for such long periods of time.

I’m right here & I’m ready for a summer feast of football, kind of glad the Euro’s isn’t on, international football sucks. I’m really going to enjoy the football over the next 2 months.

After very tight and bore lock down now I am also waiting for this action and not going to miss this full of action soccer festival in unusual time.

Awesome update, thanks man. That means crazy Saturdays and Sundays for sure if no 2 matches will be played at the same time, though from what I read they might even be playing every day for some weeks (Monday included) so maybe they try to stagger some of those weekend kickoffs. Presumably though it looks ok to just play Friday, 1 midweek, and then 8 games on the weekends. Suppose it's just logistics now with neutral venues.

I just can’t wait to get started, it brings a level of normality to our lives after all the disruption. Hopefully all lockdowns end fully by maybe August & we can get some kind of idea when fans might be able to return to stadiums next season.

I think the first two-game is postponed because of Carabao Cup final.

Lockdown for the general public are starting to be eased now so they'll probably see how that goes. If people can go shopping to malls and supermarkets without much happening then Arenas will probably be ok. Probably a good idea to ease into things though rather than just open the floodgates to going back to normal.

On the contrary, I think those are the only two games that have an official kick off times so far. FA cup resumes on the 27th so there's a week away. Not sure why they're playing those two games first though.

Indeed! I even have my early bets in on a parlay (Gunners-Blades). I'll probably get screwed and City will likely steamroll Arsenal in an eager burst out of the starting stocks but I didn't even think twice when I saw the 7/1 odds (and dumbly parlayed it too).

All this is still sounding so foreign to my brain. Can't wait really. If Arsenal actually win, we would only need the 1 win, LFC! =p

I think you’re right buwaytress, yourself & LFC_Bitcoin might get to celebrate earlier than expected. Ironically if City lose to Arsenal then the game Liverpool would have to win is against their Merseyside rivals Everton. They will be very keen that if Liverpool as expected are set to become champions then it isn’t against them that it becomes official.

We can see from German league restarts that a lot of teams break down after 75th minute or so. That can be only attributed to lack of fitness and/or match concentration and it seems that some teams are much more affected than the others.

IIRC, these games were rescheduled before pandemy because League Cup final. They had to play on 11th March, but game was postponed again because positive Covid-19 cases in Arsenal. And then on next weekend whole league was stopped...

it seems that there will be more differences in quality. I did not see any effect of pause on Bayern players. They get others very easily just because other teams they did not recover best for the restart, especially teams from the middle of the table without an excessive need for competition.
PL teams were always in better shape than other leagues (one of the reasons for high popularity). Anyway, we have 17 days left

Ah, that makes sense. Did seem a bit baffling that they'd play just those two first. As I said above, it seems like they're the only two games that have got the go ahead right now:

As yet, there are no concrete dates for every top-flight fixture.

But the first games are set to be held on Wednesday, June 17 and will feature Man City vs Arsenal and Aston Villa vs Sheffield United.

Once those games are out the way, it is almost certain that the fixtures from Week 30 will take place on the weekend of Saturday, June 20.

Exact dates for the remaining matches will come later, once the Premier League clubs agree on a framework which suits everyone and TV companies sort out how to broadcast the behind-closed-doors games.

Maybe lay off betting on the first few rounds as they could be unpredictable. There's usually always upsets at the beginning of the league. Maybe even considering backing some of the underdogs.

Bayern will beat most teams in their league quite easily, and so they should, regardless of how long they've been out. For most teams it shouldn't really matter that much and it's something every team has to deal with so it's equal/fair across the board, but we know players/managers like to blame their poor performances on something.

You never know.  The lockdown could affect player fitness, mood and other mental stuff.  I for one have been a little depressed with some anxiety mixed in lately.  Lol.  

But then again, it's the master vs his former student.    Should be good.

I didn't realise I was joint fifth in the table and only ten points behind second place. That last round must have bumped me up quite a few places. It's pretty close though really and I think even people towards the bottom can still win a place (though they'd have to done consistently well). First rounds back are going to be shaky and I bet we'll see some big upsets until the season gets back into the swing of things.

Amazon is showing their alloted games for free. Shame they only got four:

I wonder if the old calendar might even get thrown out. Whole new schedule, with neutral venues and travel times all factored in, and the authorities might even want to avoid Merseysiders coming together expecting a huge celebration. Who knows? I'll take it any way I can!

I've been remote working for years (geographically remote as well!) now so I guess it hasn't affected me any more than it already has but I definitely understand the psychological effects -- even if it's just the physical visuals being missed. You'll be all right, we all will, promise;)

Streaming has been strangely good for me after the first weekend back from lockdown in Bundesliga. Even watching Sky/BT was pretty clear and uninterrupted. Hope it stays that way for EPL!
