You can tell who does and who doesn't have free mint rolling into their wallets every once in a while. Takes mint to make mint ladies. Your pathetic trolls aren't making it go any lower.

truth is harsh isnt it.
Alright, I never used the ignore function before. But now I will. Such a low signal-to-noise ratio is simply too much for me.

Anyone get a problem where it says "waiting for work to be available from pools" when you start the miner

Using sgminer with same .bat file that worked couple of days ago just fine
cgminer 3.7.3-kalroth seems more powerful than sgminer. But you have to create a new conf file for xintensity www.overclock.net/t/1461916/tutorial-ultimate-guide-to-tweaking-amd-cgminer-3-7-2-kalroth-edition-sgminer-instructions-included-aswell-get-the-most-hash-out-of-your-gpu

if nothing else I am watching it to see how it handles the 100% proof of stake and to see what happens to the price.
Same thing to me. Too bad I cannot have both mintcoin wallet and blackcoin wallet opened at the same time (I don't know, do some of you have the two wallets opened at the same time)

Hi

Anyone to help a poor sod? Basically, how do you import a wallet after reinstalling?
Quote from: wylie99
NOTHING seems to be working.
Before I completely delete the whole wallet, will this work?
Backup the wallet...
Put in a safe folder somewhere...
completely delete everything else related to the wallet...
re-install the wallet...

Will the new install ask if I have a backup?

OK, I just tried installing the wallet on a different computer, but it didnt ask for a backup, and it didnt find my backup in the same folder.

Now WHat???!!!

I'm assuming you have the back up already.

1. Click Window start button, in search field type "folder options" and open it, now under view tab check "show hidden files, folders, and drives. Click apply and close.
2. Open the User folder on the computer where your new wallet is stored. Open files in following order, appdata, roaming, Mintcoin. Now simply remove the existing wallet.dat file to the recycle bin and replace with your backup wallet.dat. Close all files and start Mintcoin. You should be good to go.
NOTE: If you named your backup wallet.dat anything other than wallet.dat, you must rename it back to wallet.dat. You can do this by clicking the file once, then right clicking and scroll down to rename.

I'm going to bed now.
Thanks,

I update his request accordingly:

Basically, if you are on Windows:
1. Backup your wallet
2. Close the wallet program
3. Install the new wallet
3. Go to %Appdata%\Mintcoin (Explorer, ctrl+L, type %Appdata% then press enter, then look for the MintCoin folder)
4. Delete wallet.dat
5. Replace it with your backup wallet.dat
6. Open up the new wallet, and wait for sync.

Has anyone noticed there are several accounts posting in this topic all registered recently that are trash talking Mint? Brokedummy signed up today and all he's done in his 5 posts so far is trash Mintcoin.

We had classic Gingermod/manonmoon and now we have these newly registered sockpuppet troll accounts?
Some one trying to FUD us to get the prices even cheaper?

I left my wallet open for one hour and these appeared. It appears I have been given back-pay. So if any of you have not received minting that have been here since day one then I suggest you leave your wallet open for an hour or two.

Nice balance  Grin : http://mintcoin-explorer.info/address/MnE3FVEpHLS8d1doVquAPqoK6XqfefWgTY
That what I thought: anyone can now how much money a given address has. Now I understand better this "Russian mafia resorting to physical assault to get bitcoin". You address is anonymous, but if you give it in a social network like a forum, people can correlate.

I understand better the usefulness of two addresses: one for public receving and one for storing. That way, the public address always look unimportant. Question though: is it possible to track money from one address to another? I say yes so, ultimately, anyone can now how much money you have if you give even one address out, no matter how many addresses you are placing one behind another.
Maybe that is the whole point behind Darkcoin, Zerocoin...

I like the idea of minting, but 20 days seem too long. We need to trade them to make profit and minting at the same time, so a couple of hours, says 8 hours minting would be perfect.

Stop being a fking short term trader. do banks give you interest every 8 hrs? No. you are rewarded for your patience every twenty days if you think carefully about it. And remember people like YOU lose out to those who LONG. Buffett has owned coke shares fore more than 20 years. think why and you will answer your own questions.
Banks in my country do have overnight interests, ok? 20% annually looks good, but when you take the volatility of crypto-currency, it's nothing, man. You need better trade-off.

I don't think you should compare a bank to crypto in any way!

I have to agree with tng811, 20 days seems to long. Unless you were in from day 1 with a large amount of coins, I
purchased on the 19th and had my coins in my wallet all ready to stake. And realised I could make far more trading
each day, which is exactly what I've been doing.

And will continue until the pure POS stage to see which way it goes. Blackcoin has been mentioned, which is now in
POS and earns interest every 8 hours at a far smaller 1%. It had less than 100mil POW mined and zero premine, but
is yet to increase in value. It's early days, needs more promotion and possibly then might be back to the POW days of
3000sat time will tell.

Mint does have far more development going on and bigger following, but that's expected with a 700mil premine to help
the devs.

Maybe blackcoin will give some small indications over the next 10 days or so, how mint might do in pure POS and will
be interesting to watch!

Someone posted an image of a confirmed minting of 62k, how big a stake is needed for that?

=====

Also regards to the thunderclap giveaway of 200k, who's putting up the coins? devs?

Would it not be better with a 1 mil giveaway, if the 200k isn't from the devs maybe they are willing to contribute to
give it a boost!

It's a great way to get more people involved, hopefully the new wallet will be available before that? So it's easy for those
not already involved in crypto to use without the current wallet unlock/lock hassle.

This for me brings up the 20days period to stake again, if the giveaway reaches people completely new to crypto. Who are
going to be inclined or care to wait that long? or just forget and move on without ever opening the wallet again!

If it was a shorter period before staking, then those people will start to see their coin balance increase and be more inclined
to stick around and take a further interest in the coin.

And we need an android wallet asap, if no one is taking up the offer at the 2-5mil bounty it needs to be increased.

I also agree with the 20 days being too long.
This discourages you to use any amount of your coins. If I receive 100.000 coins in 1 transaction, and later I want to play a dice game with 100 coins, the other 99.900 are 'touched' in that transaction and I have to wait another 20 days again.

So how does the 'minting' work once it switches to PoS?  Do it require you do anything but sit there with a wallet and a balance?  what happens if you encrypt your wallet?
