Payouts occur usually somewhere between 2300 - 0300 CST, depending on how much volume is being traded.

So... every night between 23.00 and 03.00 Mint gets pumped and the price probably rises. To me that sounds like an oppertunity that can be easily exploited...  Huh

I think Mint is better of with a steady increase instead of one pump per day where we all pay the grand price any whale sets for us... Please fix this Sad

They could make the payout within a designated time frame so that people know when to expect their payout, but they could do the actual purchasing of MINT at random, undisclosed, or spread-out times so that people can't exploit the pump.

I agree, I think an environmental charity organization would be great for this coin. Maybe we could vote as a community on a charity (or charities) that we could start donating to through the Mintcoin Foundation?

Maybe I don't understand Proof-of-Stake as well as I thought, but to my knowledge all setgenerate does is cause your CPU to mine Proof-of-Work.  That is irrespective and unrelated to Proof-of-Stake block mining, is it not?

You're right about that - I assumed (probably) wrong. I was triggered by a message earlier about increase in price last night and that being great for the bagholders, combined with the payout times.
I think I connected the wrong dots Tongue

edit: and given the 40 megahash we are outputting now (0.35 BTC/day), it'll take longer then one night to push the coin up a few satoshi's Wink

Most coins are down down this morning, not sure why...

Mint is a great coin though and the price will come back up, we now have a multi-pool which will put some buy pressure on the coin. More importantly, the development team seems to be very active in adding merchants. This is what will make Mint a good LONG term investment. Go to page one to check out the list of merchants.

My mistake. Correlation is not causation, probably a coincidence that my minting started right after I did this.

Just leave the wallet open 24/7 if you want to mint all the time. I leave my wallet open 24/7 and mint on average 130- 250 mints per hour or 1.5 hrs.

Never invest all your money in one coin and never invest what you can't afford to lose.
Besides , you tell different story in other threads.
