BC is not secure because it is no longer a hybrid PoW/PoS coin. I don't know why anyone bothers with it.
Yeah I'm still unsure how they fixed the problems associated with pure PoS but they claim to have. People have asked on the forums but the answers are rather hand-wavy and I have yet to see anybody explain in detail how attack forks are prevented. It could be attacked and there is no way to really know, that's the freaky part because there is no way to be really be sure sure. Got to have some PoW in it.

Not too thrilled by the performance of the Mint Multipool, so I went back to Wafflepool and I'm using the Bitcoin it generates to buy Mint. Makes about twice as much per day.
|
Check out this site for legit free BTC. It's like an hourly free lottery ticket that always pays out at least 300 satoshi, and could net you over .3 BTC if you're really lucky. Just gotta fill out a captcha each time. (basically a faucet with chance of real reward) http://freebitco.in/?r=242778

It's a generic bitcoin multipool, but a bit more open and friendly, and lower fees than the others. http://wafflepool.com/

This may of interest to the BC community: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522235.new#newWe are already doing that. Killing useless coins through the multipool. Well these guys are talking about forking blackcoin specifically and destroying it. They probably have the hash power good luck. Enlighten me how hashpower can destroy POS coin? Smiley This is how... Re: Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and Clean Up Has Begun- Join the Revolution "I have an idea. We start a pool where we can mine shit PoW scamcoins and fork them. Multipools have nothing to do with cleaning out shitcoins. They prey upon the valuable coins (easiest to mine for profit), shit or not.

This is another multipool that pays out in bitcoin: https://www.multipool.us/You can run scrypt or sha-256. Use it to buy Mint The multipool thing is cool, but remember the easiest way to get more mint is by just leaving it in your wallet Can you imagine if Bitcoin was PoS and you could earn 20% just by holding? OH LORD. Now imagine how valuable Mint will be in a year. Every coin will count. Ya feel me?

I still call BS on scrypt ASICS. There's only one out there so far that's real, and it's garbage.

With the pre-orders starting and release scheduled for later this year, it won't be long until we find out. In the meantime, i'd hate to be left holding the bag!

PoS is the future. PoS coins that came before Mint had the right idea, but the wrong distribution method.
During the mining phase people had 5 weeks to jump on the bandwagon. People that are just now becoming aware of Mint STILL have time to get in by buying some coins and tacking on 20% more to their initial investment, and all the while the coin will grow in value as merchants are added.
We are quite the opposite of an instamine coin, with 50 billion coins yet to be minted and we've made it happen without dimming the lights of Vegas. This coins use of proof of stake and the distribution method really make Mintcoin remarkable. The speed of transaction times can't be understated either.
We have a real winner here, people just need to slow down and think about everything.

Bounty for a new mintcoin multipool http://www.reddit.com/r/MintCoin/comments/20vtiy/bounty_for_a_new_multipool/I have been in contact with one of the established multipools and they are willing to get a mintcoin multipool up if we show enough interest!! Here is what they replied: "Its an interesting idea. I saw some doing it with blackcoin recently. I'd be willing to give it a shot, if you believe you can gather interest in your community and perhaps a bounty could be had. I've got a lot on my plate atm, but am willing to dedicate some time if it makes sense" Can we raise some funds for a bounty here? Send some coins to this address MqafpHSxDnDMcHg3c4BFf2xpBmCDe64H2Q I don't have that much mints myself but i donate 100000 http://mint.blockx.info/get/address/MqafpHSxDnDMcHg3c4BFf2xpBmCDe64H2Q

Great Job! I think you could definitely find interest. Which multi-pool are we talking about?
Three I know of: Wafflepool.com - 1% fee total, seems like (it was) the underdog, has my support multipool.us - 1.5% fee on scrypt, does both scrypt and sha, doesn't auto payout in BTC middlecoin.com - 3% fee, the original, oversized EDIT: On a quick google search, seems like a lot more multipools out there.

The pool operator has shut it down to make improvements. The pool had difficulty working with the most popular mining software. I'm not against setting up another multi-pool or even paying another bounty, but I think the community would like to see which pool it is we would be working with.
