I've got Google Authentication and a rudimentary CAPTCHA both fully working, working on implementing RPC calls to the tenebrix daemon now.

I actually prefer Tenebrix than GG, GG seems to be just another GPU coin while Tenebrix is quite different. Also it seems to be easier to run than GG as it looks more like the typical Bitcoin. GG behaves a bit weird sometimes. Still trying out Tenebrix, can't comment, but the fact that CPU is more than twice than of GPU is something I enjoy watching after seeing the reverse for so long. Okay, I'll believe you for now. Thanks. Also, you may take a look at my other baby (it has blockexplorer and exchange, Geist Geld is the name) and observe a distinct lack of "lolcust scurries to sell off" It's just that one person owning a huge stash of TBX may be dangerous, not only because it reeks of centralization which goes against the principle of the Bitcoin and all the related forks, but because if that person were to lose his TBX somehow, that would be 7,700,000 TBX gone for good. Well, it does have a whiff of centralization to it, but so do blockchain lockins. If I accidentally destroy the encrypted thumbie I hold that wallet on, it will not cause the market to collapse since coins destroyed != coins sold. But that would of course impact my ability to run a laundry and hire coders So I keep it really, really safe I would suggest at least to spread them around a bit, so it wouldn't be one person with a huge stash of TBX, but few people with relatively huge stashes of TBX. (think, mining pool, faucet, misc. funding, et cetera.)
1) Faucet is decided upon, as above 2) Paying them coderz counts as spreading around, methinks 3) Paying "bounties" to exchanges and services also counts as spreading around I hope. I could start a twitter campaign to increase the spreading, but that reeks of spam, and I don't like that at all Preferably now is limited by my relatively humble capacity at fixin' up linux makefiles. Worry not, I have already called for backup.

Those who are paranoid could probably implement a check that checks whether the brix are from the laundry, and if they are from laundry, check if there is a transaction with the same amount and time stamp, but different receiver. (Don't exactly know how the laundry would work out but I guess you get the idea.) Just in case someone would try spending brix from laundry without laundering.

Exactly as with Bitcoin or whateverfailscamundeadgetrichquickcoin: ~$ bitcoin-qt getdifficulty 0.01562500
Needs of course a client or daemon running on the same machine.

How much harder is mining Tenebrix versus mining Bitcoin? By my calculation, I should get about 1000 as many TBX than I'm getting right now given my hashrate and the current difficulty. ArtForz, can you comment?

At least for me, seems to be far more difficult, my nett tally is still zero.

Very roughly a factor of 1000. PhenomII hexcore here gets ~20Mh/s for BTC, ~20kh/s TBX.

still worth it to solomine for now, i don't think pooled mining is too far away. Just checking my own pc and it went 16hrs without finding a block running 4 threads on a q9400.

Very roughly a factor of 1000. PhenomII hexcore here gets ~20Mh/s for BTC, ~20kh/s TBX. Ok, but is the same factor applied to the expected time to find a block? Let say the difficulty is 0.015625 and you are mining at 1 kh/s, how long does it take to find a block on average? In other words, how many hashes do you need to find a block on average?

the coins never enter the market, or they do by taking used coins off the market. The laundry is tenebrix's 'killerapp', it's what sets it apart from the other coins.
the laundry might be the killer app, but how could you tell, that the coins/brix never enter the market? i've changed my mind on this, it's not 1 guy with 7million coins, it's a currency with an equivilent 3 year money supply for a laundry to facilitate anonymous transactions the problem is, the guy running the laundry could decide to close it, or get some millions out at any given time, so, no matter what those brix are currently used (or planned to be used) for, as soon as he decides that the market price is right, or too high, or whatever, he can drop the market-price to whatever he wants (nearly zero actually). of course he can claim that he only wants/plans to do good things, fact is, he can do whatever he wants. of course it might be "trivial to check" (like he mentioned in an earlier post) what he did, fact is, it wont help us in any way to check what he did once he did it, it's too late by then. @lolcust don't get me wrong, i really like the idea of a "cpu-exclusive" blockchain and i actually startet mining some myself as soon as i read this thread (and there haven't been any responses). unfortunately i immediately stopped as soon as i realized that you already own more brix, then the whole community will be able to generate within the next year(s?). sure, you don't control everything, don't "rule it all", but you rule the very, if not most important part of its price. you can drop that whenever you want to nearly zero.

That the currency is dependent on the laundry maintaining its size is true, but it's also true that the size of the laundry can be easily monitored so if it shrinks at all everyone will know instantly. If that were to happen i think exchanges would freeze trading and a new client would be released that would invalidate the laundry coins.

How exactly will the laundry work? 1337 coins moveing in and 1337 coins moving out? Or some fixed fee eg. 1% so that only 1323,63 move out?

I had json_rpc_call errors when I am using the command line and the bat, I switched to the portable and use guiminer, looks ok, just that I am still having zero success I'm still getting json_rpc_call errors. Win7 x64 using portable or daemon and with both the batch file and minerd... I also get http request error 500 along with each json rpc call failure...

Okay dudes, Gui-less daemon is good on all platforms (Win, Lin Ubuntu LTS, Lin CentOS, Lin Fedora specifically compiled and tested) https://github.com/Lolcust/Tenebrix-daemon-exp/commit/a9c5887f3572259376ac0dbfaabe6232288375ebI guess that means that it's faucet time, then exchange time, then pool time. Any pushpool gurus here? It needs tweaking due to "unusual" PoW...

Nope, difficulty works as in bitcoin, so at 20kH/s and difficulty 0.015625 you'd expect to find a block every 2^32 * 0.015625 / 20000 seconds on average (= ~56 minutes).

Now, to put it all in perspective, there is 7.7 mill coins premined... and suddenly you realize, how fucked up this whole ideas is. Damn, I was hoping for something that lasts, but this is as fucked up as all the other *coins. Thanx for trying. Sorry to see, how stupidity and greed just killed another coin. Lets wait for T0brix
