My understanding is this

First blocks were intentionally small to make sure that instant mining did not happen as other pools caught up on loading up the wallets. I think most of the pools kicked off right around the same time.

Second, those who thought they would solo mine this are nuts. The dif jumped rather quickly. Unless you had 60+MH I doubt you even would have found a block.

Third, it was launched late. I saw the time on the main page. Was here before waiting until launch.

Only thing that may be wrong is the premine, but all coins premine, what they do with it is another story.

Really? late? hmmm i will edit my posts.

Lack of the windows QT sucks though. Premine up from 0 to 2....Well, let's see how the premine goes.

It was late, however confusion might be that people expected the delay to be for hours.  I think +3hr was said and in fact it was only some minutes later.  I had CGminer on failover, not a big deal.  I wasnt watching launch and didnt have to be as it worked fine by itself

50 to 500 was a great idea.  It should be in the rule book for every coin.    Do I actually love that, not so much because instamine is like 'free coins' & combined with that, the diff moved up so quick; this makes ruby the hardest coin launch ever I think.   Both great ideas just not advantageous to me, maybe it'll equate to higher coin value in time but not right now

The windows QT at launch with that well added into it is not as important as it used to be at launch time as it used to be. IMO, I think we started to get close to 100 dif in about a half hour. Add into the mix the low block reward at the start would have negated any opp to solo mine .

As I said the only real thing we can complain about is the premine.... as I said that all depends on the devs how its dished out. If they want a successful coin, making sure most of that pre mine is dished out would help tons.

Very well said. I'm in frequent contact with the dev team. I can tell you they have a solid plan in place as to how the premine will be spent. All along the 1.2M has been promised to be used for the promotion and ongoing development of the coin. At this point, the intention is to dole out the money sequentially over an extended period of time to ensure that no one attempts to manipulate the price or damage the value of RubyCoin.

The RubyCoin devs are thinking very carefully about how to protect the value of RUBY, and thus, your money.

I might not agree with all of cryptohunter's views on things, but when you've seen the same type of thing happen over and over and over, I mean why is this different?  There is a huge influx of new people coming to the game and if what you consider FUD posts will drive a few people to do some due dilegence and research on things then my job is done here.

Goodluck to you and your choices of mining/investing.

I have to agree, launch was less then stellar and real specs should have been announced well in advance of launch especially when your doing it for the second time. Plenty of other coins out there...

Dev just kicked/banned me and at least one other person from IRC. He stated that the Hash.so pool had a "security" risk. A couple of us asked where he got the info from and what the risk was. He got all defensive stating that he shouldn't need to answer the question and then simple started mouthing off about the owner. It sounded more like bad blood to me, so i asked if he knew whether the risk was in the owner, code in the site, etc? But this simple question, asked only once, got us a kick instead (with the message "Fuck Off"). How pleasant.

Just thought everyone should know how the person in charge of this coin acts. That is, like a child, and i won't support a coin that's run by someone who can't answer simple questions without having a tantrum. Anybody who knows me from other IRC channels knows i'm a level-headed person and won't just spout sh*t about anyone for no reason. Dumping my coins in the next 10 minutes.

Get out while you can, because this coin is going anywhere but the moon. I guess i should have realised this after their first failed launch, followed by the delay of the second launch and their inability to compile their own wallets. And to think i almost bothered to compile it for them for one of the crappy bounties, just lol...  Cheesy

TLDR:
Dev is a grumpy child with a Napoleon complex.
Dev team can't code or compile.
Coin is doomed.
Dump and run.

Getting rid of all my coins too, selling them really cheap. This coin doesn´t deserve buy orders.

I have offered multiple times to relieve others of the burden of their unwanted RubyCoin I will dispose of them in a just and dignified way for you: RegwZYH49tCZqHdhjiy9zWk78vhP7eauAt

I'm sorry, but I can not give you any Rubys, since I have already sold them.
But if I had any coins left I would rather sell them cheap (as I already have done with the ones I had) to the low-bidders, to get rid if buy orders.

I believed in this coin from the start, even after the first failed launch.
But after this re-launch, I call it bullshit. Get out while you can.

Well then ofc, if cryptohunter wasn't here to flame and keep the price down the only thing left is advertising. What a surprise. Nice to see a cleaner thread today Wink Unfortunately i've fallen in love with another coin, althought I still have faith I'll sell the Rubys i've mined at a decent price Smiley

To all those buying at retardedly low price -> gj, hope you enjoy your earnings Cheesy

By the way: Good job holding your coins during this night. The price is going up. Keep holding and PLEASE remove your idiotically LOW sell orders. They will buy it higher, stop selling it at unprofitable prices (althought it's way better then yesterday - arround 100% increase - it's still LOW, remove your sell orders, make the maths, and create new sell orders please).

Vote for Ruby! Only 1 hour until a new coin hits Mintpal.  The top voted coin here makes it in:
https://www.mintpal.com/voting

If you aren't registered you get 3 votes, if you are you get 6 votes. Also sending 0.00005000 bitcoins to the address next to Rubycoin address here https://www.mintpal.com/voting counts as 1 vote.

You can vote every hour, if you think this particular deadline is too close (which in my opinion it is).

Manual votes will impress Mintpal regardless of money sent.  However. if you want Ruby guaranteed on Mintpal in a rush, at least 5.51025 would need to be sent to the address next to Ruby as fast as possible.  6-7 would probably secure it.  As that is a lot of bitcoins, and we're a new coin, we can always wait 2 weeks or so when they choose another coin.  Someone from the Ultracoin team apparently has put in many Bitcoins.
