Seeing counterparty being promising, surely there is good reason as to why other securities like Asicminer are not using it. So, why would securities not want to use counterparty?

ASICMINER has direct shares and no need to use counterparty to trade so why would Friedcat take the time to setup counterparty when he already has a system of his own.

Others are already on exchanges. Most people resist change and only will change when its needed/necessary. If say Havelock went down tomorrow I bet NeoBee and a few other assets would consider and maybe start using counterparty.

Weekly Update 3/12/2014

VMC has hired Kris as their new customer service rep and she is getting all of the old messages caught up.

VMC is expecting to start sending out refund check again in about 2-4 weeks.  This delay in refund checks
was caused by VMC's loss of bitcoins on MtGox.  All refunds will be covered 100%.

I will be in California this next week and I am expecting to announce some really good news next week.

Weekly Update 3/12/2014

VMC has hired Kris as their new customer service rep and she is getting all of the old messages caught up.

VMC is expecting to start sending out refund check again in about 2-4 weeks.  This delay in refund checks
was caused by VMC's loss of bitcoins on MtGox.  All refunds will be covered 100%.

I will be in California this next week and I am expecting to announce some really good news next week.

I know this as i have talked to ken already and I agree that this was the best thing as to allow him and others to be free to handle what needs to be handled in relation to the upcoming announcement

We should be careful about giving that sort of prediction and advice on here especially when legal threats are flying round. The thing is there are  many many shareholders wanting out, they hold millions of shares between them and if Ken suddenly decides to put everyone up on Crypto-Trade price will go into free-fall as everyone gets out leaving buyers at 0.0007 in a bad situation potentially for several months.

That would depend on if we get to trade our shares before the apparent good news. It seems very unlikely we will be trading untill the news is announced. People would be silly to offload there shares after such an announcement, especially after waiting this long.

So after the price sky rockets the lender gets 5btc + 50% of profit back?

What happens if the price does not sky rocket?
Unless you plan to guarantee the lender to get his 5 btc back anyway, the lender gets all downsides, but only 50% of the upside.

It was mentioned pretty unequivocally in the last update that the shares will be held until the MSD investigation is over

Middle of an investigation by the state securities division. Its obvious Ken cant be speculating on a public forum about the outcome before it's certain.

This actually is good news.

Why? Because it shows that Ken understands that he needs help and has hired someone to handle tasks best left for someone else.

On the other hand, again he tells us to wait.

But! VMC BTC had no business being on MtGox. Since there was no way to get USD out of Gox, leaving them there was really, really stupid.
