It looks like my wallet is not staking correctly.
This because my last minted coins were received on 9/7/14 and when I stake now, my weight is only 15280, which are the coins in my wallet.
As I understand it, my minting probability should be at the max now, so my weight shoul be much much higher.

Can anybody explain this to me ? Or is there something wrong with my client ?

PoS 2.0 added some security features.  I think of it as an upper limit on your weight.  So you can't just hold for years and then come with a very high network weight and control the network for a time.

no you can't.
And even if you could it would not mean anything since you cannot expect the order books just stay the same when people begin to buy (unless of course there is an absolutely stupid person that buys up the complete order book in one shot )

anyways, the complete volume since the sharp rise 9 days ago was more than 2 million USD or so, no idea where the 500k number comes from. 500k were passed as daily volume on 2 occasions alone.

So that actually means than that people with small to medium amounts of coins will basically never receive any staking rewards anymore and the people with large amounts of coins will receive almost all of the staking rewards, right ?

I think this really goes against what POS was intended for, namely that everybody, no matter how big or small the amount of coins, will eventually receive a set yearly percentage of their total coin amount as staking reward/ interest.

This can only be done in a fair way if the stakes that have not received any rewards for the longest time get the highest chance of being the next ones to receive it.

As I understand it now, my weight will never be any higher than 15K on a total network weight of currently about 10 million.
So I'd just as well not even make the effort to stake with those odds.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

If you allow the coin age to increase linear to the time the coin has not staked, then someone could store coin age indefinitely and have a better chance of controlling the blockchain for a bit, when they brought there coins online.  While having less coins might mean you won't stake as often, you will still stake over time.  From my experience I would say right now you will stake about once a day with 15K network weight. (provided you have a good internet connection and decent computer)

300% is not impossible. If people want to invest more at 14k, then this price is stable. It just says us that this coin is very interesting for lots of people. Of course, there was a pump, and maybe the pump group dumped all the coins, but with such a high buy pressure and volume in the chinese markets, the price doesn't need to go down to 6000 again. And i'm sure that we will never hit 6000 again in 2015, when i look at the charts. I guess we will be stable at 12-14k, maybe 10k and then go to 50k till the end of the year. Everybody knows we will hit 50k anytime soon, so much people are ready to buy at 14k. That's it. No chance to buy lower. I would invest between 12-14k. Wait for the prisius technical analysis, then you will know it better .

There are markets with much much greater manipulation in the world.

- check the github commits where lots of steps towards PoS 3.0 have been checked in?

There is no point in argue what is better or worst at end of day overall crypto infrastructure is rising over time
today i can use blockchain.org using even SMS confirmations.
New people are entering into crypto word is going into internet and money like BTC BC NEM NXT will be used more or less
How many bittalk users we have comparing to world population when you look at africa there is dessert with crypto users
in short therm i belive nothing really change in long run crypto will be popular give it 20years.

I want retire someday so i want save some money best option is:
-buy house rent it pay loan
-buy gold (but in reality is have to keep away from thiefs it or buy it and store )
-buy BTC/BC and store it with cold wallet

in long run:
-house can be burned or destroyed
-gold can be stolen
-BTC can be worth 0.01$ or 10 000$ per BTC

but easiest way to save money is store money in crypto buy send it to paper wallet and be happy

PS: Just to remember in Cyprus people lost 50% saving in their bank aqq. In banks money are safier government allays can rip off you
by printing money, or take them away directly because you have to pay some fine that is why i love crypto concept so much.
