Just put up a new article about the BC/CNY price explosion on BTC38 :

http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/blackcoin-price-exploding-on-btc38s-bccny-market

Interesting indeed!

Didn't Ryan Kennedy ran away with millions of BC from users funds?

Do you only visit this thread to tell stories about someone who stole BC and then allegedly sells them in a P&D?
And do you ask the same in every coins thread or did i miss something and BC was the only coin traded on Mintpal?
Oh, and by the way, people could withdraw from MP and the site is still up for exactly that purpose.

Bye.

edit: OK, i apparantly missed that the withdrawals were not as smooth as MP wanted to make us believe, missed that due to illness... however, one would rather think that if that had one effect, it would be the massive selloffs on nearly every coin that had been traded there, not only BC... IF Mintpal had any left, since people could exploit some noobish bug that doubled your balance on "cancel" or something like that... BC and other coins had been dumped down through the whole order book that day.

Here is the MP story and updates in case you missed it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=824211.0

thanks.
however, i think this has only indirectly to do with the current massive buys on the CNY-BLK market. I and lots of other believe that either stolen and/or "bug doubled" coins have been dumped hard since (without and pump in advance), which together with BTC dropping rapidly caused a lot of established coins to drop like a stone w/o any reason or bad news but ongoing development. And not only BC was (and still is) quite undervalued due to that, it sometimes just needs some "spark" to get it going.

So was I... of course, it's less surprising because I withdrew it all prior the the V2 'rollout' (or whatever they called that crap).  I did however, still have 1500 XC and a few hundred of something else... can't remember what - got them out after the V2 launch, but basically withdrew the moment I could... took me a few tries too.  (However, I didn't get even a single coin more than I actually had on there.)  I guess I got screwed.  Grin

HAHA!  Ummm no.  I mean yes... I don't have any proof... but I swear my BTC balance was 240BTC...  Wink

The only way I would have a "few hundred BTC" on a single exchange (for more than a few hours) is if it was my own exchange.  And even then it would be in a cold-wallet just for reserves.  Cool

Best Bitcoin Bowl Smart Contract Contest

The members of The Black Chamber are taking a break from development to join community members thefriendlyfaceplant and blackcoin13 for a contest. We love this community and appreciate the miracle of both Blackcoin and BlackHalo. With the Bitcoin Bowl coming up on Dec. 26, 2014, we thought it might be fun to see who could make the best BlackHalo smart contract regarding the event. By "best" we mean the wildest, most clever and/or most fun contract regarding the St. Petersburg Bitcoin Bowl.

The requirements for contestants are as follows:

1. The contract must have mutual escrows of at least 50 BLK each.
2.  There must be at least two parties to the contract.
3. The parties must submit screenshots or jpeg files of their BlackHalo contracts regarding the event by December 27, 2014 to the Blackcoin Facebook page or, in the alternative, send them to trustlessgold@gmail.com who will post them. Please give your contract a name as well as the names/identifying information or BLK addresses of the contestants.
4. The contract must have something to do with the Bitcoin Bowl. It could be anything else so long as it's related to the event. The terms of the contract, the amount of the escrow and any assets exchanged are yours to decide. Note also that while the escrows must be in BLK, the contract itself does not half to involve BLK at all. That is the beauty of BlackHalo... you can contract for anything.

Community members trustlessgold, thefriendlyfaceplant and blackcoin13 shall judge. Decision of the panel will be final, etc. Judges may submit entries but cannot receive any winnings. Winners will be announced by January 1, 2015.

The parties to the "best" smart contract will each win an equal share of the contest wallet, which will be at least 2000 BLK contributed by the members of The Black Chamber. The judges are contemplating adding prizes for second and third place winners. We ask that the community also contribute to the contest wallet and The Black Chamber will match the first 1000 BLK contributed by the community. The contest wallet address for the prize will be posted at the Blackcoin Subreddit later today.

Enjoy the contest, enjoy the game and enjoy using crypto's operational smart contract system, BlackHalo!

This has probably been asked a lot, does it matter if you have coins are spread out over a few addresses rather than having them all in one address?

I would like to make the most out of staking so was just curious as to whether it made much of a difference.

It is probably very slightly preferable to have all of your coins in the same address, moved there in the same transaction.  That allows all your coins to stake as a single unit, so it will happen more frequently.  (Technically speaking, each individual "unspent output" stakes by itself.)  You will gain a very, very small increase in staking gains due to compound interest this way.

Though it isn't a huge deal, and some people may prefer to keep coins in different places for privacy reasons.
