So with ScryptN dropping your average hashrate by 50%, how will that affect coin output? Will it affect how the coin works, since he based his original numbers on scrypt? some of the early adopters are starting to ask this.

As I warned the dev, some people are just now starting to re-read the thread and finding out, last minute, that the algo has changed.

No going back now..... due to the fact that scrypt-n requires a RAM upgrade on all my rigs I will not be mining. Good thing I got in on the IPO

Go linux Wink

Short question cause I don't want to read the whole thread.

Was there any information how much (ca.) a GPU will cost?

Reading the very 1st post may help.  Not that hard really.

yep and judging by some of the ads (fonts) for some of these pools, they are the same ones that fucked us out of coins on ZEIT and RUBY and DOGE and PANDA and jesus christ the list just keeps growing...

Before attempting anything you need to get a custom miner for Scrypt-N.

=> http://vertcoin.org/#mining

It works the same way as classic miners, input your info in the conf file or directly in the bat file.
CAUTION: the Vertminer on this page comes with a default .conf file, delete it if you put all your settings in the .bat file!

The settings are different than on classic Scrypt for most cards and you need 8GB of system RAM for best results if you have multiple cards. Here are some .bat settings that work for me:

280X at about 370KH/s (8GB System RAM):
Quote
color 0A
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200
vertminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://yourpool.com:port -u nick.worker -p pass -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8193 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-fan 50-90

HD7950 at about 315KH/s (12GB System RAM):
Quote
color 0A
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
vertminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://yourpool.com:port -u nick.worker -p pass -I 19 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 19712 -g 1 --gpu-fan 60-90 --gpu-powertune 10 --gpu-memclock 1485 --gpu-engine 1080

If you think this was useful to you consider mining for me while you test your optimal settings Smiley
Quote
vertminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.vtcpool.co.uk:3333 -u b0ss.kindminer -p kindminer

For those interested, these settings worked for me on HD7950 cards and only 4GB of RAM:

Quote
color 0A
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200
vertminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://yourpool.com:port -u nick.worker -p pass -I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 2 --gpu-fan 60-90 --gpu-powertune 10 --gpu-memclock 1475 --gpu-engine 1080

This only provided me with 265KH/s, by just adding more RAM I could get my intensity and TC higher and achieve the 315KH/s hash rate.

Read it of course. But dunno. The equivalent is based on what? Exchanges?

It's not specified in the OP so I thought maybe they wrote about it in the thread Wink

I'll throw my N bat config for my 7970+280x if anybody is curious or has anything to add Smiley

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
del *.bin

\vertminer-0.5.2 -o stratum -u user -p pw -s 1 -E 15 -Q 1 -v 1 -w 256 -g 2 -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192,8192 --shaders 2048,2048
pause

I have a 280x and and older 5850 will the above work ?
