make an "only cpu" is not easy, since all algorithms can be done on a GPU also, maybe with a bit more code yes, but GPU's will always be there

If you're using the official client to mine, might I suggest trying https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55038.0 the cpu miner listed in this thread. Gave me about a 50% boost on AMD, and others have reported similar gains. Might I also suggest http://nodes.p2pmine.com/?poolType=LTC If you'd like lower wait times. It's a list of public P2Pool nodes on the LTC chain, you should be able to get several daily payouts of proportionately smaller amounts.

Pardon my ignorance. I'm new to the Litecoin world.
BUT....what does the logo represent? It reminds me of a handicapped pass hanging on someones rear view mirror. No disrespect to the person who I know went to a great deal of work designing this.
Is this a contest to come up with a logo? Just wondering.
Maybe that's a way to generate a lot of interest...hold a contest over 4-5 of the logo sites and selecting one from that bunch.
Just my rambling thoughts....
And no, I have come to the end of these posts and not read anything previous : )

Nah, no contest or anything, I just wanted to make a new logo. It's supposed to be an L on a silver coin in an abstract way (ltc is silver to btc gold etc). I think the current logo is good but I just wanted to take a try at making one. I guess it does kind of look like the handicapped logo Basically I wanted to make a pretty logo to match bitcoin's B circle logo thingie.

so did LTC bubble burst? time to panic sell? or to buy? [/quote Wow, prices around 0.004 BTC/LTC. Possibly all the people that helped out during the fork mess wanting out of LTC now? Might rebound, or might just be a bad time for LTC

One thing prevents me from investing more in LTC is the dev team seems to be small; hopefully it's becoming bigger, more mature and stable like LTC itself.
Edit: From github, it looks like it's a 3-member team: coblee, pooler, fanquake.

So Devcoin has ,at this stage, an advantage over LTC, in that the development is rewarded. Does LTC have bounties/incentives to further LTC development, could someone list them please.
coblee, how are you being rewarded for LTC development?

I think more likely people are flocking to BTC as it's going up as well. Additionally it's holiday time in Europe so a bunch of people who would be actively trading will otherwise be on the beach. Give it time. :-)

Since most of the code was inherited from Bitcoin in the latest release I have a few questions to coblee: 1) Does Litecoin's multisig address also start with '3' making it indistinguishable from Bitcoin? 2) What was the date chosen for BIP16/BIP30 switchover? 3) Was the alert master key changed from Bitcoin and who has control of that for Litecoin? EDIT (while I still remember): 4) How URIs are handled? Does the client hook up to launch on Bitcoin URI address or was that changed to Litecoin?

I hope there is still work being done on it. I still have to re-install the client every time I reboot my PC because it crashes when it starts otherwise. Windows 7 x64.
