Litecoin I have not used for a while but I see its still at the top usage wise ranking number four  going by volume.   Can anyone let me know the processing times for transactions and usual fees, I was going to use it for sending a few times maybe and dont want to get caught up in any logjam I was unaware of.   Is the segwit working out well ?  Sorry if this information is listed somewhere, just thought I'd ask for the general health and progress by regular users

Litecoin's role as a primary carrier role make this one of the most important coins out there.

I bought Litecoin 3-4 years ago for 20$. Now it's costs only 30$. A lot of altcoins moved faster for this period. Absolute shit coin. No raising for 4 years. No more trust.

I like that "primary carrier" phrase. I'm going to start using it!

And I also agree 100% with your postulation!

That's a shame you bought at the wrong time, might want to study trading strategies. Also a shame you can't understand how a 50% raise in value is a good thing. Perhaps you should take up a different hobby.

Well, that's sort of the point isn't it?  Yes, there is some "luck" involved, I'll grant you that. but, you can minimize the luck issue with research, timing and patience. If you are still holding them, you may well increase your profit over time but, I still say a 50% increase is a pretty good thing for any investment. You could easily sell and put your profit into something else. None of this makes Litecoin a "shit coin" now does it?

Go go go 0.05 this month

Any good news about this coin now? Because most of the coins are going down but litecoin is over 10% up.

I'm also holding some coins for last few months but don't know whether to hold more time or book the profit. Each time it goes 35+ can comes back to around 25+.

Nice going LTC!

Congrats!  Grin

IMO, people will be pulling out of bitcoin and going into ETH & LTC (as well as most other alts but these alts the most) because of the coming UASF (User Activated Soft Fork) in bitcoin that will happen on Aug 1st. Article here: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitcoin-beginners-guide-surviving-bip-148-uasf/

A lot of people will move to the alts before the soft fork and then move back to BTC "once the dust settles" so I feel this is the cause of the spikes and it should keep going until after Aug 1st.

What are your thoughts?

You have 2 options (pick one or do both)

Option 1: Hold the coins for a long time (years) in hopes to make a big profit all at once. The only way to really do this is to get a ton of some altcon and backup your wallet to a flash drive (or two) and put them in a safe place and literally forget that you have them for a few years. You have to forget about them and stop looking at the value of the coin so you are not tempted to sell too early... if you can wait, you can make 100X your investment or more. (I know, I bought 14 XMR a few years ago for $0.40 each and forgot i had them until a month ago...I sold them for $40 each)

Option 2: Take some bitcoin and just "day trade" the alt coins to earn small profits with each trade. It's like riding a wave but just make sure not to make the wrong move or you work backwards.  Wink

I'm going way long with all my alt's but this is, like the dev says "Silver to bitcoin's gold"  Wink

It looks like the LTC will again become stable and constantly varying around value 30$,  expectations that they will go to the moon will only bear disappointment and I also like that it will again become stable and do not vary too much
