Why not? DigiByte will catch people's eyes. About HUC, was it originally both sha and scrypt, or did it hard fork to include that? I thought it was just sha and human mining when it got released. I don't mind paying credit to HUC, it's a very interesting coin, but it makes completely different use of the multi-algo concept. It is in no way a competitor. However, DigiByte is clearly a competitor.
It launched as dual-algo. Here is wayback machine from 2014 Feb 13, a couple weeks before Myriad launch: https://web.archive.org/web/20140213025702/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435170.0re: DGB is a competitor, don't you think it seems kind of...desperate to be mentioning other coins in the ANN topic?

Maybe write a simple python script to send in batches of 1000 that says something like: import time from bitcoinrpc.authproxy import AuthServiceProxy
#Address to connect with local wallet running as rpc server url = "http://user:pass@localhost:50554/" #Setup connection and check balance conn = AuthServiceProxy(url) data = conn.getbalance()
#Define address to send to useraddress = 'YOURMYRIADADDRESS' amounttosend = 1000
while true: #Send coins try: print "Sending coins to {0}".format(useraddress) senttx = conn.sendtoaddress(useraddress, amounttosend, 'test', 'test') print "coins sent!" except: print "Failed!" senttx = 'FAILED TX - RPC interface error' time.sleep(10) Then if it's working, just let it run over night, if not try to adjust the amount or sleep time (if it's successfully sending but crashing after a bit).

Desperate? It seems pretty blatant to me that, using carefully worded language, they are trying to imply that the multi-algo concept, as implement in Myriad, was originally theirs. They have a market cap 30x ours by now. I think it's fair enough.

I don't think Myriad has anything to worry about, scammers gonna scam... Feel free to scream from the rooftops, but it doesn't keep me up at night.

What has the number of coins got to do with anything? They claim to fairly given away their 1% premine. They have, however, monkeyed about with the coin emission. It would be nice if someone were to make a graph showing Digibyte's coin emission, overlayed with Myriad's.

How do you know that they didn't give their pre-mine to themselves?

Here's the real reason why you should invest in Myriad... This is an example of a coin with good distribution. It is not this way because Scrypt is the fairest algorithm for all, but because the coin is very old, and it was GPU mined during a very high volume period. Now here are the distributions for the coins supposedly focused on fair mining... Myriad is the only fair mining coin that has actually been fairly mined!

One person could own the top 5 addresses or another one owns 2-3 of them. It's just a blockexplorer telling you the biggest addresses, doesn't mean everyone keeps them in the same one, they aren't staking these coins, and even if they would be staking they could still do that on several wallets.

Actually, it's the top 50 wallets on Bittrex.

And I hope that more people give you +1 on that post, because, as you correctly point out, there is a huge difference, like night and day, between "distribution" on Bittrex and what the real blockchain rich list looks like. Just a small little detail there Bitcoininspace. ;-)

Well, as Bitcoininspace pointed out, the blockchain rich lists prove nothing as large holders can just shuffle their coins into many addresses. Of course, Bittrex users do not represent the distribution of all the coins, and people can hold multiple accounts, but I think it does provide a little bit more of an accurate view than the blockchain rich list. The evidence points to Myriad being well distributed for a coin of its age (not to mention its very low hash rate!). The other three coins are distributed AWFULLY. This means that their markets have the potential to be a lot more heavily manipulated than Myriad's.

But in an anonymous cryptoworld you can't just go and post random stats of wallets and be all like "BAM, this is ultimate proof of no insane bagholders" since everything is flexible when it comes to addresses and wallets. But I do remember myriad being one of the first ones with multi-algo's so I do expect it to be better distributed than most other coins out there.

Unfortunately, that's not true. You can start by comparing the DGB Rich List with MYR's, and then post back which you think is more evenly distributed. http://digistats.info/#/richlisthttp://birdonwheels5.no-ip.org/richlist/Making unsubstantiated statements is like grasping at straw men, and those who do that only hurt themselves. BTW, the blockchain actually proves EVERYTHING! But you're right about us not being able to know how much any one person has, just like you'll never know how much money I've got in all my pockets . . . and bank accounts . . . and under the mattress . . . But arguing that a coin is poorly distributed by saying you think all the addresses are held by the same person is laughable (not that you're saying that - that's just an extreme example of what is being implied here in this thread), and, as I've just said, if we can't stick with the facts to argue our ideas, regardless of how "limited" they might be, we've just acting like straw men.

It's not just about poorly or evenly distributed - it's about fairly distributed. Digibyte has/had a premine, Myriad did not. Digibyte apparently aggressively cut its emission schedule, although when I asked about it on their thread I was basically ignored and it seems non-trivial to dig up info on it; Myriad also reduced it's emission by a factor of 2x, a move that I wasn't really a fan of, but did so at a later point in its life, and I'm going to assume less aggressively than DGB.
