Yes, Digispeed is coming soon ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Oooh, some vaporware bullshit that's already been done with instant-x and zerotime (and already been proven insecure). How exciting! You can't have instant/really fast confirmations, security, and decentralization. If I wanted something that was centralized and really fast, I'd just use a credit card (or ripple). There's a reason why bitcoin and others require confirmations, you can't have security without proof-of-work (while maintaining decentralization).

[...] zerotime (and already been proven insecure)[...] ... In the "Network Attacks" section 1 of the paper, the author seems to believe that gaining the required nodes would be difficult.... I guess "difficult" is relative when there is no POW involved. When you undoubtedly have some issue with vanillacoin's zerotime, I'm sure john-conner will be happy to pick up the pieces for you, seems like a stand-up guy... at least there's trolling now ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

[...] zerotime (and already been proven insecure)[...] ... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) From the bounty thread: There are no short-cuts around proof-of-work or proof-of-share for unambiguous, global consensus, i.e. Byzantine fault resistance. If the developer of VanillaCoin thinks otherwise, he needs to prove it with some math. I don't see any such proofs in the white paper. full quote: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1148745.msg12109646#msg12109646The bounty is only worth ~$500, and it's only payable in VNL, and if someone proves that VNL is broken, and their bounty is paid in VNL that is immediately worthless since they proved that it was broken, then what's the point?

Market has sure been interesting the past few days. Small daily dumps on all the exchanges, yet someone is buying up heaps of Myriad on Cryptsy at 714.28571429MYR increments... Volume has certainly been picking up. especially on Bittrex. Looks like it's Bitcoin season.

Yes, it appears Myriad has no up-to-date pool list? The ANN thread needs to be updated, as well as the reddit sidebar, and the new website.

I think the best thing to do at the moment is mine on BTC or ltc p2pool and solo merge mine myriad and any other coins you want to merge. AFAIK there isn't a pool offering merge mining now.

P.S. What's going on with qubit? It's not quite finding its fair share of blocks... Look at Unitus. http://unitus.info/network ... that Qubit hash rate is crazy!!

Wallet 0.9.2.16 will not open.
Assertion Failed! error
Windows 7 64bit trying the 64 bit version wallet.
If it's the first time that you run 0.9.2.16 you need to start with the -reindex flag I think. Thanks for that. Wallet loading now. All work is good. On Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit linux on an intel i5, myriadcoin-qt Myriad Core version v0.9.2.16 got to about 1yr 30 weeks to go and then crashed. restarting got the same crash and various unhelpful "corrupt database" excuses. deleted /.myriadcoin/ and tried again my third attempt has so far got to 44 weeks to go so it has got past where it crashed the first time. I'll post again if asked to or if it needs more doing to it other than delete the -datadir reboot and restart

how much "free" memory do you have on your system? as in send me the output of running 'free -m' from a console window.

more than 6GB free [its an i5 running 64-bit] synch completed from 1yr 36wk behind up to present 07-nov-2015 in about 2h, NOTE but not on the first attempt. A well-known altcoin exchange has still not sent my test transaction to it a couple of hours after I'd ok'd their email confirmation and it really is not yet outbound from the exchange. Perhaps I'll see the daily merge-mine byproduct from multipool.us overnight, but until then my myriadcoin-qt and wallet is at "it compiles, it synchs, it is not yet fully tested". Anyone up for a game of altcoin ping-ping tomorrow to test basic function of the MYR currency ?

I'm pretty sure that when you upgrade to v0.9.2.16 you need to launch the daemon or qt with the -reindex flag, otherwise it will crash (although deleting the datadir also works, as you discovered). What's altcoin ping-ping? PM your MYR address if you want to test your wallet.
