New IRC and reddit bot:
https://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/4b54bh/new_reddit_and_irc_bot_and_hopefully_soon_twitter/

You can play dice and blackjack, also tip and rain, and even bet on upcoming events. Come on over to ##myriadcoin on freenode IRC or /r/myriadcoin on reddit and bet some MYR whether Bitcoin will hardfork before 2017, or if MYR price will be over 30 sat by April 1st, or suggest some other upcoming events to bet on (will Trump invade China in 2017 maybe?).

Block reward halves every 967680 blocks (about 48 weeks)
Block reward: 1000 MYR reducing to 1 MYR ~ 10 years

Shouldn't it be 96 weeks and ~ 20 years?

I don't know how Jared of digibyte sleeps at night.

Jared and DGB have big funding.  Crypto is a small connected world where rep is everything.

I can't believe you guys didn't bomb that guy's rep out of cryptoworld.

It's a tradition in cryptocurrencies to look at the top 1000 wallets to get a hint of the equality of distribution. Unfortunately, this doesn't give much of a clue, as large holders could of course be storing their coins across multiple wallets. Luckily, Bittrex publishes lists of their top 50 balances for each coin. These balances are more likely to reflect individuals, and so, although it only represents people holding coins on Bittrex, it still gives us a better clue of distribution. So, with that said, here's a selection of 8 coins ordered by equality of distribution:

http://imgur.com/a/Qmd7k

As you can see, Litecoin is the gold standard. This is not surprising, as Litecoin is the oldest, and has a very slow emission schedule.

Myriad comes in second.

Gents,

Since it's a bit crowded in our own ANN with numerous unfunded speculations from your members, I thought I might be welcome to ask a question here as well.

The developers of Auroracoin have chosen to use a multi-algo solution for it's blockchain because that seems like the best one to protect and stabilize the network. We had a kind offer from the Digibyte team to use their repo and so we did. We never intended to steal anything and we have no pretensions to develop something all over that has proven to work.

We have already acknowledged that (by proxy) Myriad is indeed responsible for a great part of the code we have used and we like to thank you for that. Our team is grateful for the fact that we can now start to focus on what we redeem to be far more important than coding wallets, being acceptance and integration of our coin by the people of Iceland.

I like to ask you kindly to let us do just that and don't involve us in what seems to be a vendetta between you and Digibyte. I might even add that it would serve you well to invest all the time and energy you put in "evaluating" other coins in your own coin and it's marketing so the fantastic work of your developers gets the valuation it deserves.

Kind regard,

Personally, I recognise that the Aurora team is trying to make positive changes for its coin, and overall Aurora switching to multi-algo is a good thing for Myriad. At the same time, I don't blame people for raising questions about the distribution of Aurora coins. I wish your team the best of luck and I'm sure the Myriad community would be happy to assist Aurora if possible. We all want to see the multi-algo flock grow.

Haha, no, he's a legendary Pump&Dump artist from the good il' days on BTC-E. He sort of disappeared leaving hundreds of trolls wondering.

Not to wander too far off topic, but what ever happened to AUR 50% premine. Did any of it ever make it into the hands of Iceland people (it was supposed to go to Icelanders, right?)? All of it just got dumped on the megapump? Unknown and could still be partially held by original dev?

Yes and yes. You can mine on any one of five algos (sha, scrypt, qubit, myr-groestl, and skein), and you can also merge-mine unitus on several algos, or merge mine myr while you mine btc or ltc on sha or scrypt.

What formula did you exactly use for evaluating "equality of distribution" at Bittrex?

Average difference between balances. Smaller the average, the better.

Try to mine on a qubit p2pool with unitus merge mining, if you want to cpu mine. I'll let you know if I see a good spot to mine qubit.
