Yep. I didn't get in when it was under 200, but close! I'm actually rooting for it to go down a little more for another buy-in. After that, I'll just ride the mining.

I personally think anything under 300 is a golden price.

Seems like the coins is bouncing between 250-500 satoshi so people can gather it. Which is natural.
It's been around long enough to have been accumulated by many people and possibly whales. At some point it will fly.
I think a major exchange listing would help - such as Mintpal.

I like this interesting combination of algo. Very fair to all miners.

MyriadCoin on BTC38? Is this real life? The trading pair isn't opened but they made a page for Myriadcoin! I need confirmation that this will soon lead to Myriad being exchanged.

+1 sha3 asics exist. I posted proof a few pages ago but nobody bothered to read my post.
I like myr but of it gets any bigger basics can be developed to mine it easily. and I'm talking skein, keccak and groestl not just scrypt and sha256.

Long time lurker (myriad coaxed me out of the shadows) and first post in the BTC forums so please be gentle!

You are definitely right and it was an interesting paper.  They will be months even years away as the profitability is in scrypt right now but no matter what algo is developed an ASIC will eventually exist given the profit motive even with punitive N-factors (although they seem somewhat effective in the medium term).  So going forward this coin will need some way of adapting the 5 algos to ensure it keeps a healthy balance between hash rate/hardware cost/transistor density/asic friendlyness.

OK, SHA256 and scrypt ASICs already exist - this hasn't stopped MYR from being the FAIREST OF THEM ALL. Let's calm down about this "ASIC endgame".

Making a qubit or skein ASIC would be ridiculous right now : the market hasn't proven the need for them, and nobody will just invest $200K and 6 months of hard work to make one without this.

Welp ... cat's out of the bag, yes I have been in contact with sammy from btc38 (owner or tech admin, not sure of his position in btc38). He's showed his interest in myr and has stated that btc38 is officially interested in the coin. When they decide to add another coin to their exchange, myriad will be the one with the best shot. so ... mine and wave boys, mine and wave.

I'm not sure, for now making a dedicated sha3 coin mining asic isn't feasible, but given how this coin progresses as time goes by it certainly WILL be justified.

The way vertcoin or scrypt-chacha coins do it works, it'll keep asics away of those algorithms, since the n factor changes are fast, vertcoin not so much. I can see people making asics for it, as long as the developer keeps the current one year time frame. I don't think constant hard forks are good for the coin's image though, so I can see that as a problem in the future, given that vtc's asic resistance is it's main selling point, basically litecoin 2.0.

Myriad is ahead with the way it includes and welcomes all miners, and all types of devices. I'm specially fond of the groestl algo for older cards, and the skein and qubit one run great on newer hardware, whilst saving power.

A hard fork shouldn't be necessary for now, as long as it's more profitable for asic manufacturers to focus on scrypt and sha256 we should be safe. If it turns out to be needed, then I'd suggest incorporating a high N factor algo in the mix, maybe to replace qubit or skein and maybe implement X11 instead of the other? AFAIK drk's algo is asic proof too, but not sure how much ram it uses, it can be adapted to asics eventually as well.

N factor 12 and up scrypt-chacha equalizes old hardware with newer hardware, gpu ram and system ram being the limiting factor, in relation to the amount of shaders.
Since most cards are equipped with 1 to 4gb vram buffers, this causes lower end cards with more ram to perform equally as well to higher end cards with the same amount of ram and more shaders*

(the algorithm uses big amounts of ram per thread, and to saturate all shaders with work and max out hash rate you need more ram than the gpu has, at least with 90% of the cards out there, forcing you to use lookup gap to diminish the thread's ram usage, which introduces a performance penalty, which can be softened by a high core overclock)
