hi everyone,
i'm newcomer & i want to put 2x 270x on the myriad network.
is it more profitable to mine skein or scrypt algo ?
mining with my i5 750 can it be worth ?

ps: dont forget to vote on mintpal.

you can mine which algo gives you the most coins, however consider the energy costs you save when mining one of the non scrypt algos. i like qubit the most, it saves around 40% of kwh.

hi and welcome, use the link in my signature to see the current profitability per algo.

don't forget calculations are per scrypt mh not per respective algo mh so besides sha the table shows how much you earn with the same hardware on each algo.

EDIT: also what the dude above me said, you should consider that skein runs a little cooler and consumes less kw but groestl and qubit run ALOT coller and take in ALOT less kw

It has come to my attention that newcomers have no idea where to point their hash power. Here are the pools that I've tested, are stable and can be easily contacted in case of problems

Skein - http://myrsk.nut2pools.com/ (if nut2pools has any other algos running I would recommend them, they are stable and comunicative)

Groestl - http://eup2pool.cryptopools.com:3333/static/ (P2Pool, only one I used but since the others are identical in setup I presume they work like a charm too)
Groestl - http://usp2pool.cryptopools.com:3333/static/ (P2Pool)
Groestl - http://asiap2pool.cryptopools.com:3333/static/ (P2Pool)

Scrypt - http://myr.nut2pools.com/
Scrypt - http://myr.coinsprofit.com/

SHA256D - http://myr.poolerino.com/ (reputable, Mike is always online and responsive)
SHA256D - http://ispace.co.uk/ (very reputable and stable)

Qubit - https://cpu-pool.net/myr/ (have not mined qubit, but I presume they are doing well since we had no complains)
Qubit - http://myr.nonce-pool.com/ (same)

For other pool owners this list is not meant to promote pools but to recommend pools I have used and have always been stable and quick to solve any problems, so if you feel left out I am sorry and you are free to advertise your pool.

hey,

i noticed right now the block explorer doesn't show the real difficulty for the scrypt algo. it says 10.x but right now we're at 8.46. just a heads up.

I think http://myr.cryptopool.eu/ is on a fork guys ... other diff... other block

Yes it is and it looks like it has been for 16 hours!!!!!

Aren't pool owners supposed to notice this shit?

I have dozens of transactions on the pool that haven't arrived in my wallet.

Anyway, moving to another pool and won't use cryptopool.eu again - dreadful.

Devs, remove cryptopool.eu from the OP, if they don't notice and don't respond for 16 hours you shouldn't be supporting them.

In fact, I've just looked and many of the pools on the OP are dead - it should be sorted, it doesn't look good.

My block explorer is running on a node thus it's very unlikely it could be wrong.

Guys, cronjobs stuck from time to time, so sometimes even pool ops are not at the console.

I wouldnt miner there until solved but dont cry scam or something after such short time, I bet it will clear up.

Cron jobs are fine, I have loads of transactions on the pool that didn't arrive in my wallet.

It won't clear up, 130+ miners have been mining on a fork for 16 hours (three mining months!) - all wasted.

Mike's right, don't throw names around, it's not like they had anything to gain from it, they actually had more to lose than anyone else which brings me to my other point mazeltov myriad, we've just had our first fork and what happened ? exactly nothing because although cryptopools.eu held more than 50% of the scrypt hash power there were other 4 other algos working along with the rest of the 49% of scrypt which prevented the fork from doing any harm to myriad. no one else except the users that mined there has been affected by the fork and even in they're case it's not entirely the pool's blame because the fork was announced several hours ago in the thread and it was most likely noticeable within minutes of it happening(if I was mining scrypt I probably would have noticed instantly since I always monitor diffs on my block explorer). I'm not saying you guys desirve it I'm just pointing out what low impact a 51% attack has on myriad compared to other coins, even the big guns.

point two:

This should be the hottest coin out right now. What do you think is holding it back?

Myriad is a rose in a sea of rotting carcases, a breath of fresh air in a room full of farts, a fresh water lake in the middle of the sahara. It's being held back because it is hard to notice it when 20 hyped premined scam ipo coins emerge daily, but users who do notice it tend to stick around because as it happened to vertcoin people will eventually learn about myriad and see that it trully is the concept to unite the whole mining comunity under one coin, a huge step forward for the crypto currency world.

Well, thanks for answering questions I hadn't asked and putting words in my mouth......  Huh

Where did I say that anyone benefitted from this balls up? Where did I accuse the pool of being a scam? That's right, nowhere.

I accused the pool of being a joke, which it is, they didn't notice despite having 130+ miners operating on their pool..... do thay have any responsibility to keep an eye on a pool where you pay fees (and I was donating also)?

Should they not respond to urgent emails in a reasonable time? People have tried to get in touch all day with no luck.

I agree, a fork doesn't hurt this coin particularly much, but there are still disgruntled miners who will come here looking for an alternative pool only to find a load of dead links and pools on the OP - it just all tarnishes the coin's reputation.
