@Everybody: we should define the options that we have to move forward. Please submit your ideas here and we will setup then a voting system and let everybody decide the future of EduCoin.
Some things that we have to discuss:
- Algorithm change? - PoS/PoW - Conversion of existing EduCoin to EduCoin 2.0 (Rate) - Incentives to mining and getting network security (currently non-existent)
Cheers!

Hi, I'm not a direct member of your community, however we seek to partner with you in the future. Given that you are considering some changes, I'm suggesting that you consider POR - proof of research, to learn more about it visit Gridcoin. Essentially instead of figuring out random problems, your computer will be working on real life scientific problems. Win-win no more waste.

Also in swap over converting 20:1.00 why not see if community will be willing to support more by getting 20:0.99 with the residual going to bounties for road map or something
I would support a move like this as long it doesn't sound too unfair to anyone

Ebola is topical subject, EMC2 is considering making a public donation, we need to know if you are willing to join our campaign as a strategic partner if we carry it forward?

What kind of ideas
Thanks for your question, moments ago the EMC2 board adopted the measure to move forward with plans to be involved with the Ebola project. The extent of our involvement is contingent on our own community's commitment to the endeavor as well as the various levels of commitment other communities are expected to pledge. Our board has approved leadership resources, social networking resources, and 1 Million EMC2 coins for the effort; these are all minimums; its important to note that since the endeavor is far larger than all of our previous endeavors we are seeking community ratification. The project requires strategic partners, not just for currency but for leadership and volunteers as well. An exploratory committee made up of representatives of each of the involved cause coin will determine if they move forward to take on the project and if so the scope of the project, what the respective communities could be expected to responsibly pledge, and the best way to address the goals of the project. Currently two coins are committed to the effort: EMC2 and WorldAidCoin. If you, or anyone is interested in representing your coin's community in this endeavor please let me know. Thanks again

Is Educoin dead? Now just my mining farm continues mining of Educoin - 1,5 MH/s. According to my calculations in 100 days there will be produced 101 000 000 000 coins, and Educoin will die. Does anybody try to carry out conversion to Educoin 2.0? Is the development team made? If it is, why do not we know about it? If it isn't, what's the reason? Why does not the web site educoin.cc work? The last tweet in Twitter was made on 10 July.
I think there some team must be made for Educoin staying alive. This team must get accounts of Educoin (bitcointalk, twitter, subreddit). Also it needs somebody who can be an organizer. I can't be the organizer becuase I almost don't speak English. I am ready to do web development: site, block explorer, pool, Crowdfunding site. I have a server where we can keep all this. What do you think about it?

Good to see the thread buzzing with ideas, keep them coming.
I like the idea of partnering with EMC2. The video idea is genius as it provides useful information and raises awareness about the coins.

I think we made so progress the past weeks. We have a Coin Blockchain Explorer and Europex is running again.
I'm speaking with Edumoto to see if we can host the website on a better hosting solution.
We need to define the next steps and i'm willing to do the development.
I will ask Edumoto to setup a pool so we can vote on the next steps for Educoin.
Cheers!
