EU is going to prolong sanctions against Crimea, punishing them to taking "democracy" literally, for another year: http://www.gazeta.ru/business/news/2015/06/09/n_7272086.shtmlMeanwhile there are reported problems with usage of payment cards on the territory of the republic: http://ria.ru/society/20150609/1069108493.html

They were added in 1939 after division of Poland between Soviet Union and Nazi Germany.
Back then, the Soviet rule lasted for less than 2 years, as these areas were annexed to the Nazi Germany during the Operation Barbarossa in 1941. By the time the Nazis were pushed back, more than one-third of the population had perished (including almost all of the Jews). People who were regarded as anti-Nazi (esp. members of the communist party) were exterminated without any exception.

These people prefer to forget that in 1938 there was a division of Czechoslovakia between Poland and Nazi Germany. Then a lot of statements were made by then PM of Poland about necessity of helping Germany in dividing the Russian territories. There was also a plan to provide ideological, infrastructural and military support for Germany in their future attack against Soviet Union. E.g. construction of new railway on the polish territory. But nobody likes to deal with traitors, so year later Hitler just fucked them all.

The IQ level of an average ethnic Pole seems to be the lowest in Europe. I never hear anyone in Poland condemning the 6 million Poles (including some 3 million Polish Jews) exterminated by the Nazis. But they are very vocal in accusing the Soviets of murdering a few tens of thousands of Poles (including many Nazi collaborators).

The local authorities in Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are starting to prosecute Crimean Tatar criminals, who have commited violent crimes: http://tass.ru/proisshestviya/2033863I just hope that all the criminals who had committed crimes such as murders and armed robberies (with the tacit support from the authorities in Kiev) against the Slavic population in the 1990s and 2000s will be put to trial soon.

Well, the people of Crimea chose the union they want to live in. Any attempt by the West to impose upon then a different view, which does not correspond to their own, would be a breech of democracy, don't you think? Also, in the context of Crimea (and Novorossia, and Pridnestrovje/Transnistria, and Belarus) don't talk about past USSR here, but rather about fractured Russia, and don't blame Russians living on those fractured lands wanting to come back to their homeland, taking the land of their forefathers with them. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi1213.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fcc466%2Fgaldur%2Frussia.png&t=663&c=-VPIFx1u1Yjg6g) By the way, once I mention Belarus - Lukasjenko wanted some years ago for Belarus to join the Russian Federation. Belarus was interested in recreating the Soviet Union, and Lukashenko wanted Belarus and Russia to remain as autonomous republics within the Union. However, Putin asked Lukashenko to merge Belarus with Russia, and under his proposal, the 7 oblasts of Belarus would have become oblasts of Russia, without any autonomy. Lukashenko rejected the proposal.

Reposting this here from another thread:
Now, the case of Crimea, apart of being a closed historical event, is also a very simple one.
All you need to do is to answer one question: Which of the two historical events do you endorse: 1) 19th of February 1954, Krushov seeking to gain favour of the tops of the Ukrainian Communist Party, in a voluntaristic dictatorial move, breaking the constitution of the USSR and the legislation of RSFSR, and in opposition to the popular opinion of the residents of Crimea, transfers the peninsular from the jurisdiction of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and into Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
2) 11th of March 2014, after a violent coup d'etat in Ukraine, having been threatened for life by the new ultra-nationalist powers, Crimean population decides, as the result of a democratic referendum and in accordance to the international law (UN's charter on self-determination of peoples), to secede Ukraine and reunite with their historical motherland.
USA and EU, apparently being Communist dictatorships, judging by their actions, are backing event #1. Russia, being a democratic state observing international law, supported case #2. What is your stance?

Government of the Crimean Republic warns Europe that European countries imposing sanctions are risking to lose all the tourists from Russian Federation: http://lenta.ru/news/2015/06/25/crimea/The thing is: EU is imposing individual sanctions with travel restrictions against all Russian citizens (including the 2.4 million residents of Crimea) who dare to visit or live in Crimea. Bank "Russia", which came under EU sanctions, reports growth thanks to the large number of new customers from Crimea (4.5 billion roubles, which is a 10% from total sum of investments into this bank): http://www.kommersant.ru/doc/2754082

Crimean people were never happier, also they never lived in richer state and never had higher standard of living. There is reason why there was no violence. Must feel great to be saved from bankrupt debt enslaved country.
Crimean people are naturally gifted with the good climate, Cool season temperatures average around 7 °C, and it is rare for the weather to drop below freezing except in the mountains, where there is usually snow. Because of its climate, the southern Crimean coast is a popular beach and sun resort for Ukrainian and Russian tourists.

An important legal development regarding Crimea. On request from an MP from party "Fair Russia", Sergej Mironov, the Prosecutor General's office conducted an enquiry into legality of transfer of Crimea from RSFSR to UkSSR in 1954. The conclusion is that the transfer was illegal, violating both the Constitution of USSR and the Constitution of RSFSR. http://tass.ru/politika/2075741![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmironov.ru%2Fimages%2Fupload%2Fimg1435211649.jpg&t=663&c=eE9h36AtSJr4sw) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmironov.ru%2Fimages%2Fupload%2Fimg1435211667.jpg&t=663&c=SPDefb2Omm18MQ) http://mironov.ru/main/news/13939"Hи Кoнcтитyция PCФCP, ни Кoнcтитyция CCCP нe пpeдycмaтpивaлa пoлнoмoчий Пpeзидиyмoв Bepxoвныx Coвeтoв PCФCP и CCCP пo paccмoтpeнию вoпpocoв oб измeнeнии кoнcтитyциoннo-пpaвoвoгo cтaтyca aвтoнoмныx coвeтcкиx coциaлиcтичecкиx pecпyблик, вxoдящиx в cocтaв coюзныx pecпyблик, — гoвopитcя в зaключeнии Гeнпpoкypaтypы PФ. — Кoнcтитyция CCCP (п. «д» cт. 14) вoпpocы yтвepждeния измeнeний гpaниц мeждy coюзными pecпyбликaми oтнocилa к вeдeнию CCCP в лицe eгo выcшиx opгaнoв гocyдapcтвeннoй влacти и opгaнoв гocyдapcтвeннoгo yпpaвлeния и нe пpeдycмaтpивaлa пoлнoмoчия Пpeзидиyмa Bepxoвнoгo Coвeтa CCCP пo вoпpocy oб измeнeнии тeppитopий coюзныx pecпyблик (cт. 49).

How do you know that Refat Chuarov is a terrorist, by the way, what do you know about terrorist and how a person or organization called as a terrorist, When an individual or group of members fight for their rights without any sabotage or killings which causes the people of it's own country and other neighboring states never be called as a terrorist.

Crimean Tatars... the pet project of the West. Personally I don't care what 249000 (out of 2.5 million population of Crimea) law-abiding Tatars are doing. It's the 1000 troublemakers that cause concern. It's the same all over - on Ukrainian Maidan 9including - the 0.001% that destroy it for the rest.

Around 10,000 have already relocated to the junta-controlled parts of Ukraine. I think that many more will follow them. And I don't have a good opinion about these Crimean Tatars. During the last two decades or so, they have been invading Slavic owned farmlands and seizing them by force. They have also committed a large number of crimes against the Slavic population in Crimea, including dozens of murders and hundreds of rapes. It is another fact that before the merging of Crimea with Russia, not a single criminal was punished for his crimes.

Its quite telling, that when Kiev cut off Crimea from water pipes last year, West, all of sudden was not concerned about fate of those Tatars residing there ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Personally, I dont mean them no harm, like elsewhere, majority of them are decent people, but in this case it is obvious they are being useful idiots.
