Like I said, HASHRA.com is the site/company that is between the manufacturers and us, now.
I am sure they are completely open to quantity purchases at a substantial discount under retail.
They may not deal with 'group' buys though. Not now anyway. I really don't know.
As I (dimly) recall, their mass quantities were 200 - 1000 - 10,000 - etc.and the price didn't go below $120 each or something like that. Don't quote me on it.
Let me know what you find out. This could get interesting

Excellent. Well, again, I'm not calling it a "group buy" if you will. I'm already prepared to buy approx 300 or so myself (at $160 each). Was just hoping to get an extra break if possible.

Don't need anything except for the miners themselves. Lets keep this simple and not deal with getting people power supplies, cables or any accessories.

Edit: I keep forgetting that the company I work for opened up a division in China a few years ago. We have frequent video conference calls and have already inquired if they could be a resource for sourcing product. If necessary we could have them deal directly with Gridseed on our behalf. They, of course, would require compensation for their time.

Same here possibly +60 for me at $160... more if together we can get a lower price for larger qty. Got $10K that could go to this possibly.

however for co-lo'd equipment in a rack you are correct.

Sadly yes... unless you buy some reset power devices to cycle them regularly...

I have had mine lock up and require a USB reset (unplug the USB cable) several times in the week since I started with it. Its a firmware thing that needs to be addressed.

I have had mine lock up and require a USB reset (unplug the USB cable) several times in the week since I started with it. Its a firmware thing that needs to be addressed.

Currently I have 15 and 16 connected to two raspberry's with the newest scripta with cgminer, the crashpatch and autorestart on. So far one day without touching the thing. Hopefully after the weekend it'll still run.

Lets be more specific.  If running from the controller there are a lot of reported issues of hung devices and required device/controller resets.  

I've been running mine for more than a week on linux with 0 intervention.  I'll be racking the devices I leased out in a different thread later this week and will likely not touch them or the computer controlling them for another 3 months.

While most here probably use cgminer I am still using cpuminer and batch files, very happy with the performance.  I did test cgminer out and it would only show around 20 of 30 gridseeds.
I have all of them clocked at 850Mhz and they will stay running for days without any issue, running 30 on WinXP host, 10 devices per 10 port Rosewill 10port usb hub.  I get a consistent 10.5-11 Mh/sec out of them.

No problems here!
There are NO firmware issues causing disconnects!...in my GS5's at least.
I'm using cpuminer - works great!
Cheap USB hubs can be problematic but even they can run stably under the right circumstances.
Most that come in plastic enclosures are not shielded from EMI. This can cause issues.
Some are real crap. I'm using Inland 13 port and it seems pretty stable if I keep it away from the miners and power supply which emit a degree of EMI. Any electronic device that switches at high or low frequencies emits EMI (Electro-Magnetic-Interferance)

When my gridseeds were connected to ScrypGuild.com they were failing to find shares after being disconnected from their server - automatically - for what ever reason.
I've since moved to another pool and so far , no problems!

I see so many complaints and configuration issues coming up from cgminer and bfdminer yet, using cpuminer there are no such problems or issues! NONE! Why isn't everyone using cpuminer? I think, based on what I've seen and read, bdgminer should be called BFHminer (big fuggin headache) because it causes so many configuration and coding issues. Why bother with it then? I will say that cgminer seems to be a lot less buggy and most are having success with it. But I see few if any complaints about cpuminer from those who are using it. They seem to be simply hashing away with little to no issues.....me included!

No baby sitting here! Set and forget! Letter-rip and make you money! It's all about producing successful shares and converting it into money you can use! That's it.

I hope someone can help, so I have a problem with cgminer that I cannot find the answer to anywhere.  I want to install two versions of cgminer on my raspberry pi, one for my dualminer usb sticks, and one for the gridseed 5 chips.  So the problem is that whenever I compile a different version of cgminer, the other version stops working.  If I open one version, run the miners, then compile the second and run that version, everything is fine.  But when I have to stop or reboot cgminer for either, only the latest version of cgminer that I compiled works?  It is probably something dumb that I am missing that is causing the problem but I can not find the answer anywhere.

Any ideas?

Try running them as different users?

Cgminer makes a ~/.cgminer directory which does something while cgminer is running.

Is there anyway to designate a different folder for cgminer so they do not screw each others settings up

I am running 10 gridseeds on a raspberry pi using cgminer with the cheapest 10 port hub I could find on ebay (about $6 new) and they run sweetly

I have a 5V 8 amp power unit driving the hub and pi. Not sure if it needs 8 amps but I had it already.

my results are different then yours(in one case but not the other)  my 4  are running non stop for  days on end.   the issue may be firmware as you say ,but I have 5 pc's doing mining.

One pc is godlike  4 at 850 with no errors and no controller. it is an asrock z77 itx-e


 One is not. the other  3 have not been tested.  so the issue is the gridseed and your controller. of course if you are using the controller they gave

Just need more grid seeds to fill up the hub
