There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

hi
and can you enable at the 650 Version also  625 600 575  Steps?

i like to buy the new firmware when its ready

thanks for your work

Yes, I will enable 500-650 at 25Mhz steps.

Frequencies above that are limited in terms of voltage/currency and are not stable. I may put some time/effort into those voltage controls, but so far out of 250 downloads, donations have totaled $0.

I'll have the 500-650Mhz version available in an hour, PM/DM/etc.

Did you happen to enable the messages from newbies? I would be interested in the full firmware purchase/donation but would just need to contact you. Thanks again

This is not a source-based modification, but instead was performed using an ARM disassembler, some sweat, tears, an oscilloscope, and other misc. equipment.

I can already imagine the work you put into this. Congratulations on a successful release!
Wishing you nothing but the best on this endeavor.

Now can we just imagine what bitmain is doing under the table with complete access to the source code? They are watering down their ASICs when they release it to the public..

Yeah -- with source we could do a ton more ... The oddities I'm finding at higher frequencies (i.e., "opportunities"), are related to voltage/current control as best I can tell. That's either happening because (1) they want to limit the ASICs ("water down"), or (2) they have yield issues and it's an honest-to-God attempt at protecting the chips.

I don't have a read on whether it is 1 or 2.
I'd guess, 1.

Chips are the same as on the Z9 mini and I've been running them at 725Mhz for weeks. It's no attempt to protect the chips.

All -- I will respond to PMs a quickly as I can. I am upgrading my BCT account now to enable me to respond faster and will do so as soon as the "Copper membership" goes through.

Thank you,

I have the paid version and like to think of it as getting a z9 mini with the purchase of a z9 full with this firmware.  lol.  When you think of it that way, it def. becomes worth it.

I have the paid version and it is working as stated.  650M max for me but the beauty is that he added many more Freq so I can downgrade if necessary.  And of course he kept the 500 and 550 for those that wish to go back to stock.  Definitely worth it.  The longer you wait, the more you regret!

Thank you for this feedback, cdn007!

Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Jason
