With so many altcoins and tokens created everyday, mass adoption is really hard for most of them.
Still, bitcoin is the leading cryptocurrency in terms of adoption.
Most of the altcoins without substance in the beginning are just pump and dump ones, a get-rich-quick scheme.
You can compare it with masternode projects also. Almost all of them are just for quick cash, they have no reason to exist at all or sometimes they will create something as a front, like charity-related wannabe project. But it all boils down to be a crap one.
But for really legit ones, with innovative ideas backed by solid known companies, they are here to change how business is being handled by blockchain technology.
And adoption will come fast, if in case they can prove to the community the benefits that it can bring to the business world.

Actually in reality not that many people got into crypto. Yes they heard about it and talked about it, but according to recent researches about like 9% of Europeans own cryptocurrency. I think it is like this worldwide, except for countries with a very weak and volatile fiat currency. So don't think we have seen major adoption, I think that is yet to come.

In many TG channels i follow there were some scared people with the ETH getting to 200 USD in the last 24H and asking "when moon again" (never liked this expression) but without solid knowledge about what they are doing. One thing that left me speechless was this person spreading fud in one coin and the admin explained that was the ETH price down but the value of the token compared to eth even had earned 3% and this guy didn't even understood what the admin was saying but just kept talking bullshit until he was removed from the chat. It's sad but there are people involved with cryptocurrency that have no idea what they are doing!  To bring the adoption people should be "educated" on the blockchain first and it's a long road to get there, but I'm optimistic we will get there

I think it was because many peoples joined cryptocurrency at the end of 2017, and later their coins price were falling.
In 2018, it became worst, most peoples who bought at the end of 2017 were selling their coin to avoid more loss.
The lesson i got is, dont buy coin when the price is hyping. Buy it when the coin price is dump.

Your right but when we are still in the speculation period or years of cryptocurrency, it's the best to make huge chunk of profits. Price swing goes up and down and it you have to follow that in order to win some. Because when adoption commence, I'm sure a much more strict regulation will make it not move so much.

True but when we have a chance to use our crypto for something in real world others wouldn't really use it.
