Sampey,

An old request....

Can you add a function to the Market Operations drop down to remove orders from CAT but LEAVE them active on the exchange?

Reason: Often you want to leave pong orders in place (and in the order queue) but restart with new parameters...particularly with static orders.

thanks

Thanks, currently to do this I have to close the market running tab then re-add it and re-set all my parameters.

I second this, I'd like to have this feature as well!  Smiley

After playing around with my new toy, I must say I'm really impressed. It's running smooth, I'm still looking around to find any errors, but nothing yet! Grin

IMHO the ping-pong algo is helpful when a coin price is on a rise, but you must babysit that thing and time your trading exit carefully or you will end up with a lot of worthless coins. That's because the last pong sell order will not be executed in case of a sharp price decline and you'll sit on these coins forever. Any suggestions to avoid this scenario?

Set an emergency sell on x % loss. There is a problem in this, in that if the market is in decline, CAT will emergency sell, then carry on trying to place new ping orders which then in turn emergency sell....and repeat. There should be an option to "pause on emergency sell" or "pause on %drop". So you could emergency sell at -10% and pause until further notice on -15% drop.

Also another interesting indication of "when to buy" and/or "how strong (much) to buy" I'm putting into my software is reading the balance of buy/sell trades in the past time period. When strong buy cycles kick off you should be able to ride the wave on the up. Of course you still need to get off at the right point !

Thanks, very interesting. I will have a look at this, still learning about the features! A "pause on emergency sell" sounds like a brilliant idea, maybe Sampey can put this on his to-do list as well!  Grin

Yes of course i always look for suggestions.
My TODO List is big (not so big, but not so small)

Many times, more than 50% code changes from Version X to X+1 is refactor/maintenance code, so invisible to user, but maintenance routine are the "trick" to be faster in the future to add functionality in a good environment  Wink

I think Steemit has lots of APis including those for its exchange as there are different Steem bots not  only for trading but also for voting.

I'll try to find out about who is responsible for trading APis

Today i was looking at Kraken API and i discover that if you don't give personal info like (at least) :

Full name
Date of birth
Country of residence
Phone number

You can't trade ANYTHING  Undecided

Very very bad......

I see that you've implemented the kraken api in the latest version!
Does that mean that you found a way around giving them your personal info?

Hey Sampey, 1ex.trade V2 is here, with API, so it can be botted. super curious to see how it goes, I know it needs volume but is is the next gen of exchange with all the KYC implementation so it will take.

Also how much BTC volume on a coin is needed for CAT to shine ?

i am really liking idea of how a bot would be working on waves, steem and dash atm on trex.  Smiley

Hi, are you 1ex.trade admin? If yes we could talk about CAT interfaces with API system (you can PM Me about that).

About volume i think (but it's only an approssimative value) there's no precise value, the important thing is the Range of the market.
A market that is able to reach a value MAX/MIN many times day and from MAX/MIN there's a good % of difference it's a good market for CAT.

Well, I got the answer from the person who knows something  Grin about API (I am not  Sad) actually it's jl777

I asked if there's any API to connect C.A.T. to the Steemit internal exchange

"there is API https://steemit.com/steemhelp/@hannixx42/cliwallet-commands-v0 and a few other posts, it follows the bitshares API pretty closely, so if they already support bitshares it would be easy"

so if C.A.T. could trade eg @OpenLedger (BitShares based DEX) it could be easily connected to Steemit

I also asked him who is responsible for the Steemit market:

"the steemit devs would be the ones, there is a #dev channel here"

At first look it seems something very different from a "classic" exchange API Interface.

I wish I knew the coding  Smiley
BitShares and Steemit exchanges (as far as I know and understand) are blockchain based, so I think everything there works through the wallet commands

CAT Can't work good with blockchain based exchanges. I already tried with NXT but too much technical difficults/limit on blockchain side.
CAT can works good only with a centralized exchange, fast responses, no need to mine block etc....
