And what happened after the 2017 bull run? I am sure that the tokens you are talking about became worthless. I made the same mistake with some of the tokens in 2017 (especially the Traxia tokens, which I received from a bounty campaign). I held them hoping for more and in the end the prices crashed by around 98%. Even now I have those tokens in my wallet.

Yes I agree with you, holders of potential coins like BTC, ETH and so forth will always be hopeful as they are sure of the underlying benefits that awaits them in the future.
A good example of this, are those who bought BTC or ETH early this year or late last year, they took the risk and hold and today, they are in a good profits.

Bitcoin has a strong outlook in my opinion. Big guys still in there and talking about it. It could go anywhere up if it establishes itself as digital gold.
