Don't be so sure. It is T20 format and the smaller teams do have a much better chance of causing an upset. If you remember, one of the Associate nations (Netherlands) had humiliated one among the big 3 teams (England) in the T20 world cup not once, but twice. The first time that happened was in 2009, when the Dutch pulled off a last ball thriller. The second time was in 2014, and the victory margin for Netherlands was very comprehensive this time.
England had a complete change in the team structure after these losses and with the team they have right now there is no way that any associate nations will defeat them, earlier they had a really good Test team but had a much weaker ODI and T20 players but now things have changed and i accept that T20 is anyone's game at a given day. Tomorrow we have Australia facing Srilanka, anyone expecting any upset, i am going with Australia to win the match looking at the dominance they had in the first T20.

UAE vs Netherlands match for the first semi-final playoff ongoing right now, and it looks like the Netherlands will go through. UAE are struggling at 79/7 after 19.0 overs. But they made a remarkable recovery after being reduced to 15/5. What makes this match unpredictable is the fact that the pitch is offering a lot of bounce to the pace bowlers. And the UAE captain committed a blunder by opting to bat first after winning the toss.
The winner of this match directly qualifies for the next year's world cup, and will face Ireland in the semi-final of the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier. The loser will be having one more chance at qualifying for the world cup. The losing team will take on Scotland for the 5th place playoff. The winner of that match will also qualify for the 2020 World cup.
Edit: UAE made 80/9 after 20.0 overs.

I wanted to place a bet for Netherlands to place a bet and the betting odds were decent but i have seen UAE playing well in some matches and with these teams you never know how they will perform as i have not seen all of their matches nor do i know their top players but i know Netherlands have some good players with experience but consistency is the problem, there is no way UAE could win the match with a low score like this.

LOL... You should have made the bet.. A few days back, UAE suspended 4 of their most important players for match fixing. All of them got banned for life. One of the guys who got whacked was Shaiman Anwar, who used to be their star player. The team morale was down, and it was evident during the first few matches (they lost to Jersey by a big margin). Still, they have another chance at qualifying. If they could defeat Scotland tomorrow (which looks very difficult, considering the fact that Scotland is being regarded as the strongest associate side), then they can qualify as the 5th ranking team from the qualifier. But once again, this is T20 format and anything can happen at anytime. In T20, you need the luck on your side as well (in addition to skills), in order to win the matches.

After the suspension of those players UAE got defeated easily by Oman and then i thought they will be loosing all the matches but that was not the case as they won the very next game against Ireland then defeated Hong Kong and the only loss was against Jersey after that so i was not sure how they will perform as one day they will perform well enough to win but on bad days they perform terribly as we saw today and that is the reason i did not wage a bet.

This is what I posted a few hours back... But once again, this is T20 format and anything can happen at anytime. In T20, you need the luck on your side as well (in addition to skills), in order to win the matches.
And just now, we had another crazy match out there. Namibia was down at 69/5 after 12.1 overs. Then JJ Smit hit the fastest half-century in the tournament and took them to 161/7. They scored a massive 92 runs from just 7.5 overs. This T20 format is really crazy... anything can happen in T20 cricket. Those Oman players don't know what hit them... their face had such a blank expression. The results are yet not clear. Since this is a crazy format, there is a very good chance that Oman may chase down this crazy total. Afterall, the Namibian attack is not the best in the world. But in my opinion, the advantage is with Namibia, as the pitch is offering a lot of bounce and seam movement. If they win, then they will feature in an ICC tournament after a very long gap.

Namibia and Netherlands secured their spot in the next years T20 world cup and this is the first time i am seeing qualifiers being more public as i never noticed these qualifying matches being talked about in previous world cup editions but i am yet to wage a bet in any of the matches as i am watching these matches live. Tomorrow we have the second T20 between Australia and Srilanka, i am expecting another domination by Australia but the odds are not that great for the match.

If you take into account the performance in the first T20 then you will think twice on placing a bet on Sri Lanka but the odds are really attractive to miss that, i will plan according to the toss, if Sri Lanka is to bat first and score a good total then i will place a bet on them as Lasith Malinga is still a force to face easily when you are chasing and he has the ability to change a match anytime and he is the trump card in this match.

So with about 30 mins to go for the match, I'd like to put up my predictions for the game! The match is being played in Brisbane, one of the fastest pitch in the world, so we can expect the pitch to offer some bounce, hence helping the Aussies pacers a lot more to keep Lankan side in control. Last game, Malinga started off well but eventually in his second spell, he got off-track with dropping in some poor deliveries which were optimised brilliantly by Maxwell's off cutters! Malinga would surely work on his mistakes this game, given his experience. Mitchell Starc will be missing today's game for a family function and Billy Stanlake will be coming in the playing XI. Taking into consideration the dominant performance by Australian batsmen previous game, and a pitch which strongly favours the Australian pacers, I am going to predict Australia as the winner for today's game! The level of gameplay of Australia is a huge gap ahead of Sri Lanka. I believe they will easily take this game and secure the series.

Already placed a bet on Sri Lanka just for the heck of it. This is the T-20 format which is why I would not dismiss Sri Lanka completely. They can bounce back if the right amount of pressure is applied and I am expecting that to happen in this match. I do hope they don't give Rajitha the ball anytime soon(Or replace him) for obvious reasons. With Starc out, Sri Lanka's chances of winning have improved in my opinion.

Odds on Sri Lanka right now should be tempting so understand why you are betting on Sri Lanka with Starc out but still it hasn't improved the Sri Lanka's chances of winning by much. Australia's lineup for today's match might seem a little bit off from their best bowling lineup but they have capable and experienced batsman to cover for it so for me it's hard to see SL winning but then again it's T20 and anyone can surprise anyone.

Well I was trying to get this market of Most fours for Australia just 10 minutes earlier when Sri Lanka were 4 down and the minute I pressed the place bet button the market suspended. The odd was around 1.70 which was really good. I was just few seconds late LOL The win draw win market is not profitable anymore.

BTW which sportsbook do you use for cricket. I don't find much cricket events in mine one so have to bet on other sports. The win draw win market is not profitable anymore. Yeah everyone knows who are the favourites.

And yet another poor batting performance from the visitors. 117/10 in 19 overs! They were 75-6, if the lower order wouldn't have had kept the innings running, this could have ended even worse for Sri Lanka. With no strong partnership, the innings never got any momentum to build upon the score, with strong bowling attack, I feel comfortable calling the target cakewalk for the Australian side! Hopefully, no-one who read my previous prediction placed a bet on the dead Sri Lankan side. Australia surely is much better in terms of skills!

Sri Lanka posted a moderate total but they could of done better being bowled out with 1 over to spare. Sri Lanka have an early wicket which gives them some hope but now they must get the danger man out Smith who looks good early scoring a quick 9 runs in his first over. Australia should win this match but anything can happen in T20 cricket.

The Sri Lankan team didn't get a good partnership through the innings, and they have shown poor batting performance until end. but they have got a big wicket in first over let's see how Australian going to recover in upcoming overs.

They are lacking experienced players in this tour. Their batsman have yet failed again to out up a challenging score for Australia. Right now Warner and Smith are playing and not pushing themselves around in pressure as the target has become pretty much achievable now. It's easy win for Aussies now.

I doubt Sri Lanka would be able to win this one even if they set up a challenging total since Warner and Smith are on a roll at the moment. Even 200 would a piece of cake for these two. Luckily, I placed a small bet. With Warner and Smith in prime form, Australia are proving why they shouldn't be messed with at present. This makes me even more excited for the upcoming T-20 World Cup.

Warner is back in form as a terrible Ashes series and he bounced back really well and grabbed the man of the match in both the matches and good to see Smith getting an opportunity this time, England Australia and West Indies have a really strong team in the T20 format and the rest of the teams will play the catch up game and the world cup will be a carnival with lots of entertainment.

Had no idea about this match but looking at scorecard. have no regrets whatsoever and glad that i didn't waste my time on it. looks dead series to me or Oz just doing net practice with Sri lankans . anyways we have good amount of cricket in the next month let's hope for good contest. Eng vs NZ Ind vs Ban ( Shakib's ban killed the hype, i suppose)
