Steven Smith played very well today and it is said that Steven Smith alone won the match today. This year Pakistan did not play very well, especially in the t20 format. They lost the last few series, even against Sri Lanka. So overall I think Pakistan's performance is not very good.

Well.. today it was Steve Smith who took the match away from the Pakistanis. Australians looked like they are in trouble, after both David Warner and Aaron Finch got out before the end of the first power play. However, Smith steadied the innings with some help from Ben McDermott. He was able to keep his strike rate above 150, and this meant that the Pakistanis lost whatever opportunity they had to put Australia under pressure.

Pakistani bowlers were looking toothless. Wahab Riaz failed once more, and the selectors should be looking to replace him. Also, their strategy to use two spinners may not be a good one. Spinners don't get much support on Australian pitches and the batsmen such as Finch and Smith looked very comfortable against the combination of Shadab Khan/Imad Wasim.

The super trio(Warner, Finch and Smith) continue to perform well. If the opposing team can take these 3 out quickly, Australia can be vulnerable as I mentioned in my previous post.

If Pakistan has to win a match against they need to pick up the wickets of Warner Finch and Smith and even if they fail to take a wicket of these three players then it is hard for Pakistan to win a match, Australian middle order is yet to be tested because the top three are performing very well and they need to give these youngsters some match experience before the world cup if not it will create an issue moving forward.

Yes your right bro i have seen last two games played by Australia the opener giving good start if they have lost a wicket also but I didn't know how will Australian middle order going to perform. I hope Australia will change the team upcoming game because of they already leading in this T20 series.

Australia just need 15 runs to win and Smith played a wonderful innings and Pakistan was able to pick the wicket of Warner but then Smith played the anchor innings and continuing his form in the shorter format, Mohammad Irfan and Shadab Khan bowled really well but the rest of the bowlers gave away runs, Mohammad Amir started well but then Smith scored freely against him.

Australia won this one easily and am not surprised. This is why rankings don't always tell the complete truth people. Pakistan struggled through out the match. Iftikar and Azam gave them a decent total, but Australia dominated them.

The super trio(Warner, Finch and Smith) continue to perform well. If the opposing team can take these 3 out quickly, Australia can be vulnerable as I mentioned in my previous post.

Hmm... I don't think that the Pakistani side will be able to bowl out all three of them in their "whole tour". I've got a feeling that the Aussies are gonna make the sandwich of Pakistani side in this tour.

Pakistan needs to change their pace bowlers (apart from Mohammad Amir). Both Mohammad Irfan and Wahab Riaz have been performing in a very ordinary manner for quite sometime now. The former is 37 years and the latter is 34. I don't understand the logic in sustaining with these bowlers. Pakistan has some very promising pace bowlers playing in the domestic competition and it may not be a bad idea to give them a chance. There are a few good players in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, such as Junaid Khan and Usman Shinwari. Mohammad Hasnain of Sindh is also an exciting young player.

And another worrying aspect is their spin bowling. Ever since Saeed Ajmal retired, Pakistan has been without a world class spinner. Now Afghanistan is producing world class spinners (Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman.etc), but Pakistan is left with below average spin bowlers.

If Srilanka could defeat Pakistan with ease when they last faced and how can we expect Pakistan to win a match against Australia in Australia. Warner was winning the man of the match award in the last series in all the matches and now Smith won and the top order form will continue in this series.

Absolutely correct. Actually there haven't been a lot of quality bowlers from Pakistan because Pakistan hasn't given opportunities to young talent. For long they have been carried by Wahaab Riaz and Mohammad Aamir who are sort of losing their spark with age. Moreover, In Australia you can only win with good bowlers because pitch assists the bowlers so much. I think Pakistan need to focus more on bowling in the right areas. 150 in 20 overs isn't bad but Australia never had any problems while chasing the target due to poor bowling. I think their problem against Sri Lanka was pretty similar.

Spectacular batting by smith helped the Oz beat Pakistan in a one sided match as Pakistan could not come back in the match inspite taking 2 wickets back to back . Oz just showed how good as a team they are and how well they can bat and bowl .

They were losing in the initial stages of the World Cup too under Sarfaraz, but they played well towards the end though it was a little too late by then. They almost lost to Afghanistan too which is why this new team seems better in comparison.

Azam is playing really well and I think that the new team needs some more time and experience in order to become a more cohesive unit.

Right now they have 272 points and Australia is second with 267. Pakistan was fortunate to have the first T20 match washed out, else Australia could have been in the top. If Australia wins the 3rd T20 match (which is very much possible), then there is a chance that they will be able to overtake Pakistan to become the no.1 ranking side. England is also not far behind (261 points).

Exactly. Once they had the best bowling attack in the world, comprised of fearsome bowlers such as Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar. Even the spin attack was very strong, with Saqlain Mushtaq and Mushtaq Ahmed. I think what had impacted them the most was the refusal by foreign sides to tour Pakistan. This has resulted in huge financial losses for PCB, and as a result the quality of domestic cricket has gone down.

I completely agree. Bowling has always remained Pakistan's strength, but the scenario is changing quietly and PCB is not paying enough attention to it. Today's bowlers (Shadab, Husnain, Shinwari, Imad, Shaheen) are no-where near the level of Shoaib Akhtar, M. Asif, Afridi, Gul, S. Ajmal, etc. These all were a part of the team just a few years back, and since then, PCB has failed miserably in squeezing out the talent like that.

I'm seeing a big downfall of the Pakistani team from here onwards. Misbah's roadmap leads to a total disaster, IMO.

I don't see India taking the No.1 spot in T20 rankings. Maybe we can see ENG or AUS or even NZ taking that position. Indian team is still looking for a perfect T20 combination. Maybe they'll find something before the T20 world cup.

I don't see India taking the No.1 spot in T20 rankings. Maybe we can see ENG or AUS or even NZ taking that position. Indian team is still looking for a perfect T20 combination. Maybe they'll find something before the T20 world cup.

Very true, they need to implement AI robotic Umpires on the field in order to find out the No balls, now it is very hard for Indians to reach the No.1 position in T20 cricket because there are many other strong teams when it comes to T20. Every country will play strongly when it comes to T20 compared to 50 overs match.

Technology is used to make a fair match and in cricket it is used even now from what i understand because if a wicket is taken then on field umpire will check with the third umpire whether it is a fair delivery and this is going on for a long time and i have seen that during the recent world cup as they were checking for no balls when a wicket is lost, if AI robots can increase the accuracy then they can implement that but you cannot change the umpires completely in any sport.

Guess its just for IPL. this step is not going to improve umpiring standards at all ( for high pressure game it might look okay) and after this another dude (not AI) for LBW.

If we follow this trend then in future ground umpire only job would be  'giving instruction to players" and every decision would be taken by Third umpire sitting with 100s of screens.

ICC is having a ton of money in their arsenal and they can experiment with the technology if they really want and even now the DRS system is not perfect and they need to improve those instead of spending time with anything else and you cannot automate everything and on field umpire is necessary to control the match and we have third and fourth umpire to take care of the rest.

Yes it is only for IPL and I was thinking the same LOL. Here are the scopes:

A dedicated umpire for LBW
A dedicated umpire for Checking no balls in over stepping
A dedicated umpire to check now balls in full toss balls
A dedicated umpire to check wide in short pitch bouncers
A dedicated umpire to check caught behind
A dedicated umpire to check boundary

There could be many more scopes LOL
Honestly speaking these days the umpires are financially motivated.

That is a real situation, i was not thinking of the financial loss they are incurring because none of the teams are visiting them, but i thought the television rights will be sold at healthy rates even if they are playing in Dubai, not sure how much money they will be earning but i know the BCCI is earning billions selling the broadcasting rights and that might be the reason the quality of domestic cricket in Pakistan went down .
