Did anyone noticed the latest T20 ranking from ICC? Pakistan is still on top with 270 points from 31 matches. Australia is close behind with 269 points (difference of just 1 point). The good thing for Pakistan is that Australia doesn't have any T20 matches scheduled for the remainder of 2019. Their next T20 match is scheduled on 21st February 2020. So I guess Pakistan's top spot is quite safe, at least for the next 2-3 months. 

Not safer if they continue such a pathetic form as they are in. They are going through a complete shakedown of their cricket team. I think players are good but they need to be recollected together and that requires a good leader. Current side is too young and looks pretty inexperienced if we leave one or two players. Moreover thing is they aren't even able to fetch new good raw talent from their PSL. Their next PSL is in Feb 2020 and I hope they can find some really good players in that tournament to prepare a good team for the upcoming world cup.

In the late 80s i am sure Pakistan was not having a huge budget to scout the talents but they had a determined captain in Imran Khan to find the young talents in the streets and fast track them and promote them to play international cricket even before playing any domestic matches, he selected Waqar Younis in the national team by seeing him bowl in a club match and so does Abdul Qadir, Wasim Akram and Inzamam-ul-Haq was his trump card to win the 1992 world cup as a hard hitting batsman and we all know these are considered as the best players in world cricket and we need a captain to be like that to have a vision like Imran Khan to find young talents.

The match finally started now, after several delays due to rain. It will be 11-overs a side, provided that there are no further interruptions due to rain. New Zealand lost the toss and England asked them to bat first, but they are off to a good start, with Guptill and Munro scoring a few boundaries. Curran's first over went for 17 runs. They need to put up at least 120-125 to win.

England is currently on the 3rd position in the ICC T20 rankings with 263 points. Another win here should take them closer to the top spot, which is currently being held by an out of form Pakistan (270 points). But England's problem is that their opening bowling duo of Sam Curran-Tom Curran has failed, and NZ is scoring at a rate of approx. 15 runs per over.

This is going to be the decider today and also a interesting one as both teams have played well and won each match till now and India might just be little better as they played well in last match and playing in the home ground which is an advantage to them .

Well it's not that we don't have good bowlers. We are just not using them for these matches. Even one good bowler would have been enough to make the bowling kinda balanced.

New Zealand completely lost it, when they asked Seifert to open. Guptill got only one ball and in case he had opened the batting then the outcome could have been different. Anyway, the series is now over and England has won it.

Personally I am not comfortable with these "shortened" T20 matches. I guess 20 overs still gives too much advantage for the batsmen over the bowlers. If you reduce the number of overs any further, then you are completely erasing the role of the bowlers from the match. Look at this match.. the bowlers were going for 15-20 runs per over, on average. If that is the case, then what is the point in having specialized bowlers? They'll just be fine even if they go to the match with 11 batsmen instead of 7 batsmen and 4 bowlers.

You are right to some extent because when you have only 11 overs to play, you have nothing to lose as a batting team and only have to go for each and every ball. But these both teams didn't knew at the start of the match that it will end up in 11 overs a side match. If they knew it before i am sure both teams would have include more batsmen and all-rounders instead of specialist bowlers.

Do you even do you research before making such wild statements? India has amazing bowlers, but they are experimenting with the youngsters currently who performed pretty well to restrict Bangladesh to 153 when they looked like they were going to score 180 at one stage.

Just checked the highlights of NZ vs ENG and have to say both teams are way ahead of other cricket playing nations in the T-20 format or ( they both are equally bad which i don't believe) the only team comes close to them is the Australian team, rest of the teams are just pure shit as far as fighting spirit and attitude are concern in the shorter format.

It was poor bowling from the last few overs, which made it possible for the England tailenders to level the scores. And Southee had a horrible super-over, in which he conceded 17 runs, which sealed the fate of New Zealand. Personally I thought that it could have been much better had Trent Boult or James Neesham bowled the super-over instead of Tim Southee.
