So what is the final situation, is everyone getting vaccinated and whether they will allow audience in the stadium anytime soon. It is impossible to vaccinate a billion population in a short period of time but still if they allow people that are vaccinated to come to the stadium then it will be great as it is getting boring to watch the matches in empty stadiums.

It is boring to watch cricket in empty stadiums (as we found out during IPL 2020). But still I would prioritize public health over anything else. India (and most of the Asian nations) have fared well against the virus (when compared to the European and American nations). But I guess that has more to do with the natural immunity Indians have against various flu-viruses. This immunity may not work against new strains and we are already getting reports of a second wave in Maharashtra. At this point, I would argue against allowing spectators in the stadiums.

Would there be full capacity crowd allowed in this year IPL or will there be 50% or less people will be allowed to enter the stadium compared to the total capacity of the stadium ? Covid not over yet so caution must be taken but it will be good to see crowd in the stadium. Without crowd, the T-20 matches seems boring.

Most chances they will go with 25% to 50% because right now no one want to go with any trouble currently PSL is doing good with just 20% and they are going to increase 50% in coming days so here in IPL 50% should be also very good for them as this give some good relief to all .

Yes, anything between 30-60% is a good crowd but in psl they are playing at only 2 cities while ipl will be played in about 5 cities and more travelling means more chances of exposure to the potential virus.

I do not think the virus is an issue for IPL players anymore as India has successfully created the vaccine and I am sure players have already got their doze. More venue means more revenue and after the pandemic BCCI does need revenue plus fans also want their teams to play in the home ground.

Are you sure about this ?  I never heard of India making the vaccine for covid-19. In our country, we are looking to import if from china or some other country. India is the number 2 country after the united states which had the most covid-19 cases. The risk of covid-19 still exists.

Lol! You did not know about Indian pharmacy. Another thing Indian is the second most populated country in the world and still the fatality rates in India is far much lesser than USA. Above all India is still number two in that list and do also check the recovery rate.

I am not sure whether the situation is going back to normal, i still wear a mask going out and i do fear that i might get infected and i wish things get back to normal because i am tired of the situation. The IPL is set to begin in April and i hope we will be able to see audience in the stadium especially if they allow audience who have taken the vaccine.

Even in countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, there was a brief lull before the second wave started. I am afraid that India is currently going through such a phase. Lahore Qalandars have won the toss and as usual will field first. The winning of toss was important which Lahore Qalandars have won. Now they have to play good to win the match too. I am supporting Lahore Qalandars.

By the way which governments figure are you questioning? As per the figures published in India things are coming to normal. I do not know about pakistan as they do not have any mechanism to measure it. After PSL no one knows how many people will die or get infected from this virus, as they are still figuring how to get a vaccine?

But we can't forget the fact that at one point Karachi were struggling at 37/3 after 5 overs (Babar Azam was the first wicket to fall). They managed 149 runs from the next 15 overs, which is impressive. Both Mohammad Nabi and Sharjeel Khan scored runs at a good pace. Now Lahore is in a difficult position and two of their important batsmen are out. Advantage seems to be with Karachi.

When the series started 150 to 160 was the average score and now in the past few matches i was following the scores were well above 180 to 190 runs and anyone chasing the score was able to win. I made a couple of small bets and till now it was successful and the odds you get are pretty good if you are placing the bet well before the second innings starts .

I have also noticed this. Also, there is another startling statistic. Out of the 11 completed matches in PSL so far, all 11 have been won by the team batting second. I am not saying that toss alone is deciding the winner, but in no other tournament I have witnessed such an one sided statistic. The team which bats first have failed every time, and that happened yesterday as well with Karachi Kings.

Last time also when the tournament was progressing really well the final few matches had to be postponed due to the pandemic restrictions. And this time it is going to be worse if the players test positive. Because the tournament has just started. Both the PCB and the TV broadcasters will face huge losses if this spiral out of control. That said, a thorough investigation needs to be done on how Fawad got the virus. He was in the biosecure bubble for more than three weeks. It is impossible to catch the virus, if he was following the necessary safety protocols.

Not sure how the PCB is trying to sort the issue, they might make the bubble even stricter to avoid these situation which could hurt them financially.

Maybe this is the scenario with IPL too. The IPL auctions were almost over and the ground selections were under progress. Matches without audience seems to be worse, and might be the same situation as PSL. In certain regions of India there is rise in the covid-19 cases. So ground selection is much concerned. Watching in TV too boring with the edited claps and cheering of audience.

Not sure how the PCB is trying to sort the issue, they might make the bubble even stricter to avoid these situation which could hurt them financially.

Will this mean that the remaining tournament may be postponed ? Did they find the root cause as how this player caught the corona virus when all the players were tested negative for covid.
This also raises a lot questions about the continuity of the tournament at the risk of players health.
