T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion

After a disappointing ODI series where Australia completely dominated in the first two matches the T20 starts today, India has a good team who performed really well in the IPL and i would like to see Sanju Samson getting an opportunity and i wished to see him playing the ODI but he did not get the opportunity. Expecting a run fest just like the ODI and i expect the team batting first will have the advantage.

India is definitely a better team as far as T20 is concerned and their players have the experience in playing in IPL. But let's not forget the fact that most of the Australian players are also part of the IPL. I am not expecting any whitewash with the T20 series. It is going to be much more competitive when compared to the ODI series, and I would even say that India is having the advantage.

Let's hope their upcoming meeting goes well without any state boards politics. I have always believed that IPL could became a 12+ teams tournament and if this "2 new teams" idea get passed then we are heading toward right direction overall.

Adding to vishnu's argument. Triangular and Quadrilateral series are the future along with franchise. 

I believe that in the IPL, there is a clause which require BCCI to get the approval of all the existing franchises, if they want to add additional teams. And most of  the franchises have already voiced their opposition against any proposed expansion. It is not going to be easy for Jay Shah and Sourav Ganguly to convince the franchise owners. BTW, I am skeptical of your proposal of 12+ teams. In England they do have 18 teams and they are managing it quite well (with generous help from the Kolpak players), but I don't know if the quality can be maintained in India, if the number of teams are increased to 12+.

Domestic cricket in India doesn't have the same standard as the county cricket in England, or the Sheffield Shied of Australia. One of the reasons is that national players seldom takes part in these tournaments. IMO, every major metropolitan city in India should have their own IPL team. Right now large geographies are not represented, such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Northeast.etc. Adding more teams would help in getting additional fanbase from these regions.

We can't expect premier players to take part in the domestic games when their schedule is already too busy and packed. Players like Pujara, Vihari, Ashwin, Ajinkya etc do feature in the Ranji every now and then tho.

You sure that you are watching live game or some highlights?  Indian team is struggling atm and in last 5 overs Aussie took 3 wickets and gave only 25 runs, run rate is under 7.

May be watching a simulation game where India is dominating  . Jadeja and Hardik is in the crease and they have 5 overs and Australia need to be careful as both these players could take the game away as both can clear the boundary with ease and they messed up my last bet and if not for their partnership there is no way India was winning the last ODI.

At the time of writing my post, Indians were on top. Scoring at 8 runs per over on Aussie pitches after the end of 11 over isn't bad ?



After that, the Indians started losing wickets quickly but still managed to score 161, which is decent in these conditions.

Now Jadeja should get man of the match award and Chahal should receive the award as replacement.

Now Jadeja should get man of the match award and Chahal should receive the award as replacement.

If Jadeja was not replaced, perhaps india would have lost the match. India should include Chahal in playing XI for the next two T20s.

Chahal really took his opportunity and Sundar's spell too created much pressure on the Australian team. It was a game where Indian youngster bowlers shined. That was not a huge target to chase but the Indian bowling and fielding did maintained a constant check on Australian batting. Hope to see more youth exposure from both the team.

It was his innings that got back India in this game and because of that knock the score looked better and the morale of team would have become great as this could was a defending score on this pitch. OZ got a good start initially but could not capitalize it in middle order and India came back strongly from there and in the end bowled well to win this 1st T20.

Agreed. They were the key performers in the Indian bowling lineup. Chahal's surprise inclusion was a game-changer and I wasn't surprised to see Langer go crazy about it. Sundar performed brilliantly too.

Australia would have lost by an even bigger margin if India didn't drop any catches. I was surprised to see Kohli drop an easy one though I understand that it happens now and then even with the best. Rahul was quite lucky too in this game.

The Australian tail-enders batted well to tighten the margin loss. I expected them to lose by 20+ runs to be honest.

Yeah, I too watched the match as Australia vs India have always been my favs and I am a fan of Indian team since MS Dhoni was the captain who changed the history of cricket for India and rest of the world. I thought India was going to lose until they held their patience and started taking wickets in the middle overs as well as stopping runs everywhere they could. I still did not get it why Kohli gave bowling to Shami during the last over, as he was the worst bowler today economy-wise.

Injury substitute (Hamstring etc) and Concussion substitute ( Getting hit on helmet) are 2 different things. Injury substitute can't bowl or bat during any inning, on the other hand Concussion substitute (Like for Like) can do both. That's why Aussie coach and Skipper were angry as they thought Jadeja is sitting out due hamstring issue. Its tricky TBH.

Anyway Jadeja has been ruled out from the T-20 series.
