Well he's premiere player for Australia and last summer he along with the smudge missed the Border-Gavaskar trophy due to ban so that might be one of the reason he opted to play despite injury and other openers were not in good form per se, so 1 more reason to play for his country.

@JSRAW wonder if his comments are just a coincidence like the one Steyn made, when he said playing in the IPL wasn’t lucrative at all. I’m not saying what Warner said isn’t true, just that these two decided to make these comments right around the time when IPL is coming, hence it does makes me wonder what their actual intention are.

This time the PCB worked really hard to establish the biosecure bubbles and to arrange logistics. But all that effort was undone due to the arrogant nature of a few players. Don't want to start a blame game, but irresponsible behavior from a few players resulted in tens of millions of USD in losses to the PCB.

Steyn is a complete failure as far as T20 format is concerned. He is a really good test bowler (in fact one of the legends in the post-WW2 era), but his style of bowling is not suitable for the shorter format. On the other hand, Warner's style of play is tailor-made for T20 format. And I agree with his decision. In two months with IPL, he is earning many times what he gets from the remaining 10 months put together. Ideally, his concern should be to keep himself injury free for the IPL season.

IPL auctions have become the only focus for some players specially the one from West Indies and in all honesty, this should be stopped. They are no longer interested in playing the game for their nation and team, apart from some players most of them are playing for their team as an option to showcase their skills for the IPL auction and hopefully grab a huge bid and get to play for a big franchise.

There are other leagues in cricket too but the auction system in IPL is actually making it more money biased as opposed to a team sport.

Coming back to the Dale Steyn topic, his bowling was always more suited to formats where the batsman is looking to defend and not thinking about attacking. I have seen a lot of Steyn bowling and he looks even more dangerous when you try and defend him.

T20 format is suited for players like Sunil Narine who you can defend all day with some skills but as soon as you try and hit them out of the ground, you will be in trouble.

I am glad some players have focused on one format rather than playing for all formats and looking average, Stuart Broad is one I can think of, and among batsmen, Pujara is one such player.

^^^ There is a reason why the West Indian players are in such demand in the IPL. Players such as Russell, Pollard, Narine and Pooran can chnage the course of the match in one or two overs, with no support from anyone else. I haven't seen many players with such calibre from the other nations. T20 format suits the West Indian style of cricket and therefore they get the biggest bids. It is really unfortunate as i was getting the hook of placing bets as i started to get in the grove as placing a bet on any chasing team was a great proposition as the total did not matter and everyone chased good in the tournament and the odds are pretty decent as well for live betting and started liking Karachi Kings but this situation sucks and they should have created a safe environment for everyone.

They were let off with a warning. These two even refused to comply with the three-day quarantine that followed the breach. And this triggered even more of such behavior from the other players. Anyway, now the tournament is suspended and everyone can regret about their reckless behavior by watching their empty bank accounts.

Big player or not, once you jeopardize whole league with your unprofessional behavior then some sort of action is necessary.

The best BCCI should do is not to allow the spectators in the stadium. The other protocols must be followed too but they should do whatever they can so that the matches could be played and yet people can still enjoy them on their tv screens.

Sad for the PSL as this happened 2nd time with them. I remember, last time also the PSL Semi-final and finals were postponed because of covid-19.

India won this match pretty easily as both legends Virender Sehwag  and Sachin Tendulkar remain not out and easily chase this target of 109.

If you are putting bets on old players and expect them to score over 114 it does have its risk and i saw the scoreboard and they started well but then they fell short and India cruised to victory without losing a wicket and their old master player Virender Sehwag demolished the Bangladesh bowlers and Sachin Tendulkar played a second fiddle and if you could place a bet on India you could have won  .

That was really surprising, because we are not seeing Sehwag in the cricket field that often. Still he managed to overshadow Sachin Tendulkar!!! Sehwag is 42 years old, but despite that he looked extremely fit. Khaled Mahmud used to be one of the heroes for Bangladesh in the 90s. He ended up conceding 32 runs from his 2 overs. Also, I need to mention Pragyan Ojha and Yuvraj Singh, who bowled really well.
