Oh boy entire IPL? Not looking good, recently Lancashire also signed him for their upcoming ODI domestic season so would be good if he recover soon, he need practice games for England tour as well. Hope for the best.

I think it will be better for him to skip the IPL for this season, even if he is declared fit for the last round of matches. Right now Shreyas need to concentrate on his role with the national team. His target should be to replace Virat Kohli as the Indian captain after 3-4 years. Among the younger players in the Indian team, I believe that Shreays is the person who is most suitable for this job. So my opinion is that he should give a lower priority to IPL right now.

@bryant.coleman if he’s declared fit then he’ll have to play in IPL and perform in it, otherwise he’ll lose out on a spot for the playing 11 in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Also I feel that Pant could be a contender too for captaining the team, as he’s full of energy and has a stylish personality which I feel will help him communicate effectively with the team.

It is a serious injury and as per the news on ESPNcricinfo, he will be missing IPL 2021. This means he will have to forego the amount that he was earning from IPL. LOL..  it is not 10 million USD, but 10 million INR, which translates to $133,333. This is roughly one-eighth of what he receive for playing in the IPL for less than two months. Also, the peak period for a cricketer lasts only for 4-5 years and he need to earn as much as possible during this period. If he misses the entire season of the IPL, then it will be a big financial blow for him. Hopefully he'll be declared fit within the next few weeks.

Today starts the first T20 match between New Zealand and Bangladesh. I hope we see a more competitive T20 series then the ODI series which New Zealand won easily. The good thing with T20 cricket is that is some what more even and even though Bangladesh had a poor ODI series they can bounce back in this series. I still think New Zealand will win the series but hopefully its more evenly matched between the two teams.

The Bangladesh bowlers seems to be clueless on how to bowl in New Zealand ground conditions. Devon Conway came so close to another century, but he couldn't get it (92 not out). It was a clean sweep during the ODI series and for me it looks as if the outcome of the T20I series won't be any different.

Bangladesh managed to loss 30 matches consecutively. They have such countless issues, it's true they are very much dependent on two or three players and Shakib al Hasan is there backbone. I think what Bangladesh lacking is patience and concentration on the field. They have abilities yet every time failed seriously. You can see the statistics, their recent performance are not good enough but rather it's been downhill most recent two years.

This is the first time i am hearing about the tournament, T20 is difficult enough to predict and there is no way i am able to predict T10 and that too with teams i have not heard about. Looks like the T10 tournaments are catching up around the world where cricket is not played much and these shorter format will attract new audience to the sport.

T20 normally opens up the door for lower ranked teams or teams that are in poor form to bounce back and gain some momentum but its not looking like that here. I just hope that in today's match Bangladesh are more competitive.

Interesting to note that these countries are very interested in Cricket as well. Makes me wonder how many cricketing nations there are on the whole irrespective of the popularity of the sport in that said nation. Cricket has the potential to be as popular as Football if not more but it needs a lot more funding at lower levels. Not just in nations that already have structured system and a cricketing board in place.

NZ Women vs Aus Women starting in a few hours. Australia have won 4 matches in a row H2H including ODI's and potentially another win for Aus women in T20. Lea Tahuhu isnt listed in the potential NZ squad which would weaken the bowling attack. Frankly, NZ batting lineup isnt half as impressive or deep as it is for Australia and they should focus on improving that aspect to become a serious contender.

Bangladesh have simmered down recently and doesnt seem to be in good form especially against quality opposition like NZ. Don't think it'll change anytime soon but I hope at least it is a thrilling contest. Although highly unlikely looking at the previous result.

If i remember correctly that is shared here, the suspension of Shakib Al Hasan stemmed from a dispute with the Bangladesh cricket board when they were revolting or something and they took the opportunity of some bookie approaching him as a code of conduct breach as per the ICC and it is sad to hear that the issues are still there as he is one of the best all rounders in world cricket and his presence makes one hell of a difference for their team as well and if the cricket board still pushed him he might even retire from international cricket and focus on franchise cricket and he is a sort after player for different teams.

From what I have heard, issues between Shakib and the Bangladesh Cricket Board has existed for a long time, even before the incident involving the bookie. Also, Shakib was given a disproportionately harsh punishment by the BCB for him not reporting the approaching of bookie on time. It was just a procedural delay, but the cricket board handed him a one year suspension for that. I don't know why the board hates him so much, as he is one of the best players Bangladesh has ever produced.
