However, as a general spectator I am happy if the IPL is held. Because IPL is just entertainment for me. And I will bet on IPL matches.

It is true that the BCCI is saving a lot of money by conducting the tournament in one of the tax havens. But at the same time, the government was compelling them to stage the remainder of the tournament in India. The government is also running short of money (as the tax collections have been impacted by the COVID pandemic). In the end, Ganguly and the rest of the BCCI management convinced the central government that foreign players are unlikely to take part if the tournament is held in India.

At the most, they can move the tournament to some other country, but this option is not viable now. They should not complain much. There is no entertainment tax or corporate tax in the UAE. If this tournament was conducted in India, then the BCCI will be forced to pay 43% of the total revenues as tax to the government. They are saving all that amount and therefore it would be a good idea to reimburse some of that money to the franchises.

UAE is the only viable solution for the BCCI to conduct the tournament and other countries will not accept any major tournaments with full crowd capacity and the only country that allow crowds in the stadium are UK as have seen crowds during the recent England New Zealand Test match and US where the UFC is filling up stadiums for their PPV.

You seriously think the central government is running short of money, what about the money they made selling off all the PSU at cheap rate, the large donations they got and yet no transparency on how much they got and where they used that money including the COVID donations and yet the government is not willing to provide free vaccine to everyone.
 
During elections the central ruling party spent around 400 to 700 crore in Kerala alone and they did not win a single seat and imagine how much they will be spending in states where they had a chance and it came to light when black money which was sent for election purpose by the BJP was stolen by another another group of BJP workers. And think about the petrol and diesel charges and how they are looting everyone with huge taxes and you think the central government is not having money, yes they do not have money for the common people nor they do not care about anyone.

Does BCCI needs to convince the central government for them to make decisions, i am hearing this for the first time.

The government needs to realize that there is a lot of indirect benefit from hosting such tournaments, and they can generate a lot of jobs and improve the tourist potential. And also, the generation of indirect taxes also needs to be taken in to account.

I thought that India could not host the tournament at the moment because of the pandemic situation there. I don't think any country will refuse to host the tournament in their own country because of more taxes etc. The monetary benefits which comes with hosting, can take over all the taxes.

Danish Aziz is a new player in Pakistan international team, though he is playing in PSL since last few years. He played his first international T-20 match against Zimbabwe two months ago. Danish Aziz has shown impressive batting performance yesterday. This is not like a regular batting show of T-20 matches. I think it just happened fortunately. And he won't be able to keep his strike rate high like this. Although he can be a good option for Pakistan cricket team in future.

Danish Aziz is a talented prospect especially in the T20 format and Pakistan always produced big hitters of the ball who could clear the boundary with ease but the players they had in the past were not consistent and if Danish Aziz can be consistent and then produce these wonderful innings when the team needed he could be a permanent stay in the team.

Danish Aziz made his debut in ODI and T20 in April 2021. He is a very new talent but we have not seen his performance in international cricket. He has only played couple of International ODI and 2 T20 Matches. He is playing for Karachi Kings at domestic level and has impressed everyone with his performance.

But there have been a few disappointments as well. Examples are Rilee Rossouw and Ben Dunk. The reason for the mixed performance by the overseas players could be the change in venue. When half of the tournament is played in one country and the rest of the tournament is played in different country, sometime it is difficult to keep the same form.
