The West Indies players were clueless against Shamsi. But at the same time, his version of spin may be less effective against sub-continent teams such as India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Lets see how he will play against sub continent batsman, West Indies batsman used to play well against spinners and if he is able to trouble them then they could trouble other batsman with their line and length.

The win over West Indies will boost the morale of South Africa. I was expecting a relatively easy series win by West Indies, because they are so good in this format. And West Indies had fielded a full strength side - Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Nicholas Pooran, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis.etc. Still the Proteas managed to win.
After watching the first match, i thought West Indies would win the series even thought it might be close matches because they have a really strong team but they failed to perform as a team during crucial times and and props should be given to the team to compose everything fast and perform well.

One of the issues that I have noticed with the current West Indies team is that they are ageing. Look at the age of the main players - Chris Gayle is 41 years old, while Fidel Edwards is 39. Kieron Pollard and Andre Russel are now in their mid-30s. Lendl Simmons is 36 and Dwayne Bravo is 37. I strongly suspect that this may be one of the reasons why they are struggling to chase even moderate targets. Younger players such as Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer are there, but it is the seniors who form the backbone of the team.

The performance of West Indies in the first match was very remarkable. In just 15 overs, they scored 161 runs to defeat the South African team. But they did not perform well in other matches after that. The 4th match though they won. Still couldn't play very well. The West Indies and Sri Lanka teams have had a very bad time now.

West Indies remains as the best T20 side, IMO. A 2-3 defeat to a strong South African side (which consisted of T20 specialists such as de Kock, Rabada and Nortje) is not enough to write them off. All their three defeats occurred with small margins. That said, the West Indies management need to take care of the weaknesses before T20 World cup starts. Although Fidel Edwards and Obed McCoy opened the bowling well, there was not much support from the other pacers. Pollard and Russell just failed in the pace department. Also, the lack of a quality spinner is worrying. They need to consider including Sunil Narine in the squad for T20 World Cup.

There is a major difference in the performance of West Indies and Sri Lanka, the matches between South Africa and West Indies were really close and even though West Indies had big names they lost a couple of close matches but they won against South Africa but on the other hand Sri Lanka is struggling to score runs and the only match that had no result was the only game they did not loose in this series and that too because of the weather condition  Cheesy.

West Indies performs well, if the star players (Pollard, Russell, Bravo, Pooran.etc) are available. This time all of them turned out, because the T20 franchise leagues are suspended as a result of COVID. But even then, they couldn't secure a series win against a relatively weak opposition such as South Africa. On top of that, their performance in the test format remains really weak. Sri Lanka on the other hand, send a relatively young and inexperienced side to England and predictably lost most of their matches.

The economy is affected globally and how every government is going to tackle these situation is going to be important, in the US the protest of the people forced them to open everything up but in Europe they are taking a calculated approach so that we do not want to go to a position where everything goes out of control once again and hospitals struggling to take care of everyone.
I don't want the situation in the United States to be repeated elsewhere. There, a large section of the population has refused to adhere to COVID protocols (such as wearing masks and following social distancing). And some people have refused to get themselves vaccinated as well. And that is the reason why the United States is still reporting a very high daily death toll, when compared to the other developed countries. I don't want the same situation to be repeated in India or other developing nations. In short, the US is not a good example to be followed.
Vaccines can have many side effects, so many people in the United States refuse to take the vaccine. Once they are sure the vaccine is completely free of side effects they will take the vaccine, I think this is the right decision. But we should all follow the hygiene rules. This is because it can be contagious at any time if you do not wear a mask and do not follow the hygienic rules. So follow the hygiene rules and be aware.
Where do you see this information that USA citizens refuses of take the vaccination?   About 66.8 percent of adults have received at least one shot in the US which is more than any other country. Also no vaccine is officially announced to be harmful although there are some side effects in few of the vaccines.
Unfortunately cricket tournaments like T20 world cup are still being affected by the pandemic.

Sorry for the late reply. As you can see in the link below, many people have refused to take the vaccine for fear of side effects. And there are such people in almost all countries. Poor and uneducated people in my own country do not believe in vaccines. Because many people have been infected with the coronavirus even after being vaccinated. You can never make these people understand the need and benefits of vaccines.

Link: Openaccessgovernment.org: Data finds 36% of people refuse COVID vaccine due to side effect fears

Sri Lanka is beyond redemption now. If we take the list of top-50 players in international cricket, I am sure that there will not be a single player from Sri Lanka in that list. Afghanistan will have players like Rashid Khan and Ireland will have at least Paul Stirling. But Sri Lanka will not be having anyone among the top-50. I think Angelo Mathews was the last player of international quality to represent Sri Lanka, but unfortunately he is also nearing his retirement now (he is 35 years and was not a part of the squad that toured England).

I agree with you. The Sri Lankan board has failed to produce enough talented players. When players like Sangakkara and Dilshan Malinka were in the Sri Lankan squad, the board should have made players as their replacements. The board has failed to produce players and now they have to suffer the consequences. Squads like Bangladesh and Afghanistan are much better than Sri Lanka at the moment.

Has anyone noticed this:

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/eng-vs-pak-2021-england-odi-squad-forced-to-self-isolate-after-positive-covid-19-tests-1268731

Three of the England players have tested positive for COVID 19. The players underwent testing after the 3rd ODI at Bristol (against Sri Lanka). Now I am having doubts regarding the future of the T20 World Cup as well. Will the ICC and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) be able to conduct the tournament without much issues? If such issues are surfacing in England (which has vaccinated more than 60% of the population), then there is a greater risk in the UAE which is a prime destination for tourists around the world. I just hope that they won't postpone the tournament yet again.

Aus vs Windies series starting soon(5 T-20, 3 ODI)

Surprised to see that Aussie squad missing few big names in this tour such as Warner, Smith, Cummins along with 2 T20 specialists Maxwell and Stoinis.

Smith seems injured and Cummins must be preparing for the Ashes but why T-20 specialists opting out from the tour? Considering WC is not too far away. IPL effect or what?

@JSRAW one reason has to be IPL because they’ll want to be fully fit before it resumes again, and from their perspective I can understand if they chose IPL over national cricket. Also second reason could be the WC, or just the need to take a break because they have many matches ahead of them and maybe they don’t consider WI big enough to participate in this series.

Windies is power house in T-20. Yes, they are lagging in rankings but its because their premier players don't play for the national team much. They only get together as team when WC comes as we can see their current squad. So i don't think Aussie would take them lightly. In this case IPL looks solid road block to me.

So Australia is touring West Indies and David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Kane Richardson, Jhye Richardson and Daniel Sams made their decision to opt out of the squad due to the bubble they need to undergo while touring other nations and so is the reason the Australian board picked the team that is available to play. It should have been a tour for the players to get prepared for the World Cup but unfortunately some of the team members opted to pull out and you cannot blame them either considering the global situation.

Indeed, T20 is a quick run making format of cricket game. And every West Indies batsman is capable of making quick runs. Most often Windies players plays in other countries league. Because their players aren't happy with their cricket board. Windies team playing with their perfect squad in this series. Though they have lost their last T20 series against South Africa but they have performed very well in that series. So there is no reason to take them as lightly.

If the West Indies team is performing as a team then they are the strongest team in the world, as mentioned they play in different leagues as individuals and they are playing in separate teams and leagues and rarely we see them perform as a team and it takes time to play as a team and they should consider this as an opportunity and if they find their mojo it will be hard to beat them if they start performing as a team.

Very surprising result from Gros Islet. Australia lost the first T20 match to West Indies by 18 runs. And this is despite the fact that they had restricted West Indies to a total of 145/6. T20 is not the strongest format for Australia, and it was obvious during the chase. On top of that, their specialist batsmen such as Glen Maxwell and David Warner were not available. Matthew Wade and Mitchell Marsh gave them a good start, but it was not enough. Australia lost their last 5 wickets for just 10 runs. At one point, they needed just 29 to win from 7.4 overs with 5 wickets in hand.

From 89/3 to 127 all out and 4 overs left in the bank! just wow. This was one of the fine batting collapse in T-20 from bowling point of view and match winning come back from the windies after their poor power play display with the ball.

@SaShiRaJaVu They would happily agree to BCCI's request when it comes to IPL. Don't know if we should blame them or not for avoiding national duties, considering they can't play cricket for too long so financial security matters.

I am glad that i did not place a bet in the match, after West Indies scored 145 runs i did not consider them as a huge total to defend and i expected Australia to have the batting lineup to chase the score but then i saw the batting line up and the discussion here about the missing players and i thought to skip it and Australia messed up the chase completely.

Without the T20 specialist like David Warner, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis and a few players are missing from the squad and you can expect when they play as the pressure might get to the players and that is what happend in this match as their shot selection was poor and ended up loosing all the wickets.

Many would have lost their bets, in T20 and ODI or even in the Test format getting 29 runs from 7.4 overs with 5 wickets in hand is a chaseable score and many would have placed a bet on Australia and ended up loosing and full credit goes to McCoy for his incredible spell of bowling.
