So the most important question arises. Who is going to replace him as the captain of the T20 squad? If they are going to go for Rohit or some other senior member, then I don't think that it will send the right message. I would prefer someone young, like Rishabh Pant or Shreyas Iyer. IMO, senior players like Virat and Rohit should concentrate more on ODI/Test cricket rather than T20. Anyway, I just hope that the new captain is not Hardik Pandya. His side (Royal Challengers Bangalore) has historically performed poorly in the IPL. I would blame it rather on the poor team balance than on the captaincy though. And I don't think that Kohli would relinquish the RCB captaincy, so easily. AB de Villiers could be a better captain, but the RCB management would also not consider replacing Kohli at this point. There are a few other options as well. Mohammed Siraj is one. Sachin Baby has captained the Kerala Ranji Trophy squad, but he is not even a regular member of the playing XI.

If they have security concerns then they shouldn't have visited Pakistan at first place. Dont know why they came to Pakistan if they are doubtful about players security.

Crazy day it has been! Feel so  sorry for the fans and our players. Walking out of the tour by taking a unilateral approach on a security threat is very frustrating. Especially when it’s not shared!! Which world is NZ living in??NZ will hear us at ICC.

I guess in recent times, South Africa and Sri Lanka toured Pakistan without any major security concerns but we cannot expect the same from England or Australia or New Zealand teams as they value security of their team the most. I guess after the Taliban government in Afghanistan both Pakistan and Afghanistan cricket may see some downfall due to participation of women in cricket. This way, cancellation of New Zealand tour to Pakistan might be a beginning point in this regard.

I would say that RCB never had great bowlers in the team, but they always had great batsman and yet they were not able to win one tournament and it is basically because of the captaincy of Virat Kohli because he had the power to pick the players in the team and if they do not add even during the auction period, who is to be blamed.

Not sure we will see any sporting teams from Afghanistan as anyone who had money would have left the country already. New Zealand canceled tour and we might not see any major countries touring Pakistan in the near future. Just recently other teams started visiting Pakistan and now things are uncertain once again.

Awesome way to resume IPL 2021. CSK will be missing Faf and Curran temporarily. They need a couple more wins to qualify from this point onwards. On the other hand, MI are slowly rising up again as usual, but I don't think they will qualify due to inconsistent performances.

I think every match is important for every team in the world cup. If Pakistan manage to win these both matches (although there is high probability they won't), they would qualify for the next round for sure.

ICC wants to remove the Toss with the so called Auctions.

Let's take an example. Say, India and Pakistan are playing a match in Dubai in the evening, when the dew is supposed to set in. Say India bid seven runs while Pakistan bid ten. Pakistan win the auction and decide to bat first. Now whatever total Pakistan make, India begin their chase with ten runs on the board. If Pakistan instead opt to chase, they would need to make ten more runs than India actually made to beat India.

New Zealand abandoned the series because they felt that the players are not safe. They already sent the players to Pakistan which means they got the information about the threat after sending the players and other than that i do not see any reason for the New Zealand cricket board to call off the series. I am expecting an investigation from the ICC regarding the series and why New Zealand wanted to abandon the series.

The momentum has been lost and it will be interesting to see which of the franchises can perform better in the second leg of the IPL. Many of the players who played a major role in the first leg of the tournament are not available this time, due to injury issue or as a result of pulling out from the IPL. The team equations have changed and no one knows how it will have an impact on the team performances. From my part, I am expecting an improvement from the part of the Mumbai Indians. But CSK will be no cakewalk for them.
