Dozens of new cryptocurrencies launch each month, and alongside these new tokens and coins comes a series of initial coin offerings (ICOs). The appetite among a broad pool of investors for these opportunities has grown, even in spite of the fact that cryptocurrencies have been battered in 2018. All of these factors combine to entice scammers. After all, if investors have proven that they are willing to throw money toward a highly speculative cryptocurrency, they seem to be equally likely to invest in fraudulent tokens or ICOs.

Most of the bounty hunters are not as wise as you, even they don't read the bounty rules properly. So, I don't know the majority of the hunters will follow this rule or not. I think Bitcointalk and other bounty platforms should be do something to make it real! They want to collect millions of USD when they don't have even 500K USD! To prevent these scams, bounty hunter needs to be Equal!

There is no considerable requirements from the bounty managers and the teams also don't want to ignore the capability of the bounty hunters. Equal conditions also look like impossible due to the reward distribution which depends on the ranking system. Stake based bounties pay better rates compared to the fixed bounty campaigns but the differences can not be spotted with the naked eye for an inexperienced bounty hunter.

If I see that the project is clearly a fraud, then I will not advertise it for any money, especially as a rule such projects deceive absolutely everyone and not just investors. Also, if I have clear evidence that the project is fraudulent, I always publish them on specialized sites that search for scammers.

Actually this was not the fault of the participants because indeed they themselves did not know whether the project would fail or scam. we only analyzed and it turned out that in the end the team itself did and we were also disadvantaged because they did not get paid

The bounty purpose is to pay hunters or benefit on their cause. Why does it sound like its the projects fault that hunters are not well compensated? Are you nuts, dont do bounty, no one force everyone here to do it. Stop campaigning so was youre complained is. If you want a good payment scheme join sigcamp that pays btc or eth. If you cant accept the reality here, then leave its not like cryptocommunity will be dead if there is no hunters around.

I also think that those people who constantly complain can only participate in those projects where payments are made in bitcoin, but the problem is that they pay little and therefore everyone takes the risk and goes to work with other projects

Its true bounty projects are not in good shapre, either they are not paying or delaying payment, even price of tokens is not doing good after listing. Since July 2018 I have received $100-200 out of bounty projects although I joined many campaigns, some of those projects went scams or delaying payment. Its very important to have bounty payment assurance from projects and I think this is a good idea if projects have to escrow funds for bounty payments. There may be some other ideas to secure our payments. The only problem is to unite every bounty hunter on one platform.

That's right. We can't actually perceive or judge the hunters, remember they are just promoting some campaign in order to earn money. Yes they need to pick a good project right?  but not all hunter are capable of grasping which is good and legit one just by simple research. Ive been there done that and I believe we can't sort a resolution for it that easy. Scam projects are everywhere  and we can't avoid their swarming we just need to be precautions with that.

For launching a project, the project owner or developer should have some money to promote the project. Say for example- they have to escrow a minimum of 40% of the bounty allocation in term of usd or btc. Only then we can prevent scam ico and bounty hunter will get their money. Can we start following this rule?

In my own personal opinion, it will be very difficult for us to stop them from promoting scam and unsuccessful projects because no one is actually responsible for them to stop advertising and persuading investors to invest in their project. The only thing that we can do is by alerting other investors to stop investing their money in the wrong projects.

that's a good suggestion but the problem is not all investors want to follow the advice you say, investors have their own way of putting their money in the market. on the other hand we cannot find out whether the project is a scam or not? because almost all projects currently look valid. and anyone also accidentally if they have put money in a good project but it turns out it is fraud.

Or else stop bounty hunting or any other campaign, since there only few project is legitimate and many investors now know about it, more the ico project will be failed. Actually we dont need to warning them they will know it base in thier experience they will learn how to manage all of thier money once they been victim of scam project once.

I think that the forum administration has a lot of tools to prevent the emergence and spread of scam projects. I am sure that the existence of such projects blackens the reputation of the forum and administrators should try to identify them.

It is difficult to identify a scam project before it does. Most projects look good in the early days, we only know a scam project when it ends.
I usually do some research before participating in a bonus program, or you can join the bonus program managed by reputable managers on the forum. yahoo62278 and Hhampuz are the two reputable managers I know.

I know all bounty hunters and investors want to stop the scam project. But then there are still people out there still don't know how to determine the scam project. Still, most of them never learned what happened to most project in 2018 in terms of the ico. It is really advantaged and clear to say that the project is legit if they have escrows.

Good idea to escrow and have fiat/usd as a portion of their bounty reward, but I highly doubt that most startups can accomodate that because of their lack of funding. Which may lead to them using their tokens as a reward, and them turning out to be scams on the later part. That's why it's good to support projects that already has an established company behind them similar to a shopping mall in Korea which has over 1.5m customers. Those projects have a reputation to protect and never will be a scam, atleast basing from my experience comparing to startups that starts from scratch, plain idea alone and rely on a good whitepaper, a decent-looking website to get funding.

But if there's a certain startup that can implement this usd/fiat reward for their bounties, I imagine bounty hunters going right at those.

the idea of limiting or ban scam projects has long been talked about, but no one has really done it.
I agree if an ico wants to collect funds must provide at least 40% deposit in the form of BTC or ETH as a guarantee of payment to the bounty hunters. because so far many are paying with tokens that are not valuable.

Many of the beginners here doesn’t know about that because they are focusing on the work well they didn’t know that many of the projects that exist right now is just a scam. Many beginners here in the forum didn’t even search the campaign if it is legit or not. I suggest to those experts to create a thread about it on the beginners section for them to be aware out of it.

The idea is good, but it is not feasible.
There are too many bounty hunters, they are scattered, there is no single behavioral line. Everyone is trying to make money for themselves, and not improve the general condition of the bounty market.
I think if there was a service that would filter out all incoming projects, this could help, but it is unrealistic and would be strange in the crypto market. Therefore, the best thing we can do is to organize scam projects in an organized manner, under no circumstances participating in them.

we can never know if its a scam or not they are so good that we think its legit, the way they show their white paper they future plans
and the person promoting is so good at it, they even put a legit and trusted person in the project and make him/her think its legit
but after the ico is then and the seling they will disappear with the money and left the trusted person in hot water , but the other people run away with our money , that what really happens , and how they operate

The old bounty hunters aren't killing their time with bounty right now. However, there is still hope for those who are interested in crypto currency after the bull season. Let them promote their scam projects, nobody invests in them anyway.

You simply can't decide that all of us will stop promoting ICO projects, there are always enough people that will do it for a few cents because they come from poor countries.
