Full set of results of last night's Fight Night in Paris:


Fantastic performance by Moicano - despite being a big underdog, he beat up Saint Denis (in front of French audience) in the first 2 rounds so badly that the doctor had to stop it. Then he lectured everyone about why Macron and the French government sucks and why democracy is flawed to top it up by calling out "easy money fights" with Paddy Pimblett and Dan Hooker. This is a textbook example of how to hype yourself up properly—well done to him.

^  Yup lmaooo!!  Now the question is what does this mean for Saint Denis?  I guess he'll end up like Fiziev...  His career in limbo.  I wouldn't mind Fiziev vs Saint Denis tbh.    My money will be on Fiz.

Anyway, what did you guys  think of the Brito vs Gomis match?  I think Brito won by a slight margin.  And he was the aggressor for most of the match.

With last two fights, Saint Denis showed us that top of any UFC division aint no joke Before facing top, Saint Denis finished all his opponents, as soon as he started to get guys from the top: KOed in second round by Poirier, TKOed in second round by Moicano 2 fights, 2 nasty knockouts. Either he will now get someone easy (and that would be a nice bet to make), or again someone from the top (and the bet would be very risky) and he will risk to be kicked from UFC.

I actually made a post in another UFC thread and I have bet for Benoit Saint-Denis that it was really a bad idea I thought that Saint-Denis would just steamroll Moicano in that fight but I was completely wrong Renato Moicano was the technical fighter in that Octagon and brute strength is not enough to defeat a Renato Moicano he is more technical with his movement it was all calculated for me Renato Moicano should fight Charles Oliveira next and see if who's a better grappler and even on the feat where Benoit Saint-Denis Excels it was a domination for Moicano,

While Nassourdine Imavov vs Brendan Allen fight was really sketchy Brendan Allen was very well-rounded but always sprawling looking for takedowns but Nassourdine defended all that very well well I am giving Allen the 1st round he controlled it because of what he did while Nassourdine Imavov have done a well-done performance in the standing with the 2nd and 3rd round for sure a well-deserved win for Imavov.

Would be funny if Rountree chops Pereira down Such a huge underdog with odds 4.5. In fact, I would not be surprised if that would happen. But that is going to spoil all Danas plans.

Also arent you amazed to see Jose Aldo fighting again? He has retired, entered UFC hall of fame, returned and now is having his second fight after return. Btw he won his first fight. Wonder what forced him to return. Desire to fight or money. First time he fought, I though it was due to event being held in Brazil and he just cant miss it.

^  Did you watch the Countdown vid for the event yet?  I'm really hyped for the main event ngl.  Some of you guys doubted the match up as Rountree isn't really a known commodity in the UFC.  But I think we could be in for a good and exciting match here.  This is gonna be a war...

But then again, Rountree could be KO'd in R1.  Lolol.

Another intruiging match up is Thompson vs Buckley.  You guys think Thompson could still be elusive enough to win via DEC?  The line on him is tempting.  Buckley doesn't wrestle.

Alex Pereira is a monster from a Pataxo tribe. A real warrior soul. When I look at this dude's face, I get scared, really This guy is also as huge as Tyson Fury. He is 37 years old and still rocks, one of the best fighter of UFC for sure. I think that Pereire will knock Rountree down.

By the way, yes, I am amazed that Jose Aldo fights again. He is also rich, so I don't understand what's the point of coming back in UFC but to be honest, I think that it will be good if we see Jose Aldo VS Conor McGregor V2. Conor knocked him out so soon, it left me frustrated. I wonder why Dana White doesn't work to fight them to each-other.

Lol, I have the same kettle Rountree has at home   Khalil relies a lot on his speed in addition to his natural strength. I think if we look on his record and pay attention to number of rounds, then the longer the fight goes, the worse it is for Khalil. Heavy hitter that becomes defenceless. Both Pereira and Rountree started their career 2010-2011, but Pereira has more than 3 times fighting overall experience. Their fight is going to be extremely complicated for Rountree, and if not a lucky punch, I dont what can help him to win.

By the way, yes, I am amazed that Jose Aldo fights again. He is also rich, so I don't understand what's the point of coming back in UFC but to be honest, I think that it will be good if we see Jose Aldo VS Conor McGregor V2. Conor knocked him out so soon, it left me frustrated. I wonder why Dana White doesn't work to fight them to each-other.

Aldo is a bantamweight today, Conor beat him when they were featherweights (heavier). Right now Conor will barely fit as a lightweight. Even if miracle happens and Conor fights Chandler, imho it is going to be a catch weight. There is no way Aldo gains weight to jump over 2 weight divisions, and there is absolutely impossible Conor would cut to 57-61kg. He was already like a straw when he was featherweight and 65kg. Today, with the way of life he has, surgery, recovery, he is probably +80kg easily.

I can't blame you for making that bet. I too thought that Saint Denis would run Moicano over, and I don't recall hearing anyone predict Moicano's win.
The only one who got it right was... the chat GPT Fight Analyst Advanced. I asked it to analyse Saint Denis Vs Moicano twice and both times it pointed out Moicano as a winner, one time with a greater level of confidence, the other time with a smaller but still. I can't remember what way of win it has predicted, but it wasn't a doctor's stoppage  .

I agree with Alex being a favourite, but it's going to be a striking match and anything is possible. Rountree has a solid Muay Thai experience and heavy hands. Pereira is technically better and has a height and reach advantage. Should be a good one.

I don't know much about Buckley, but if he indeed doesn't wrestle, then Thomson has a chance. The age is not on his side, but everyone ages differently and Stephen looks quite OK for his age. He lost the last fight but it was against Rakhmonov. Before that, he won with Holland after a really good fight. For what it's worth, Holland TKO'd Buckley back in 2020.

Some time ago in gambling section (and in the internet) there were topics about women football championships, and women were demanding equal payment for their performance. We have never discussed women salaries here. I dont even know a single pinch of information about how much they get.

I don't know much about Buckley, but if he indeed doesn't wrestle, then Thomson has a chance. The age is not on his side, but everyone ages differently and Stephen looks quite OK for his age. He lost the last fight but it was against Rakhmonov. Before that, he won with Holland after a really good fight. For what it's worth, Holland TKO'd Buckley back in 2020.

Yeah...  That match up with Rakhmonov was prolly something that Thompson got paid really well to convince him to take it.  We all know had no chance.  And Rakhmonov is gonna be the next champ at 170 imho.  If not this year then I'm sure it's gonna be next year.

I wasn't always like this, but after thinking about it, I'm strongly against women in combat sports and I'll try my best not to support this by watching fights etc.

But talking about how much they are paid - it obviously strongly depends on their marketing value. I don't think there's any hard data available on fighters' salaries, but we all know that Ronda Rousey was getting paid quite well, according to the UFC and herself. But we didn't have any female fighter of similar marketing potential since Ronda. Amanda Nunes or Joanna Jedrzejczyk could come close but were not quite there.
I'd imagine that the UFC has probably similar starting standard contracts for women as they have for men, and they get renegotiated according to fighters' earning potential.

I remember discussion about women and men football players salaries. Women were asking for similar contracts. The main argument why they receive less was that they did not bring same revenue as men football players. Stadiums arent as full as during any men football game. With UFC its is different. Those who buy tickets or PPV, pay for whole event (I guess it isnt possible to buy PPV for a specific fight view only). So both men and women generate total revenue for UFC equally. Their payment should not be much different men. I dont think that UFC earn on merch a lot and they earn on men fighters merch more.

Btw, in recent Tsarukyan interview, he has told that during poster signature session, he get 25 bucks for each poster. And they usually sign around 1k posters. 25k per night for wrist warm-up is a good sum
