Radeon 5000 series currently have a large lead on NVidia 2000 series when it comes to ETH mining effeciency/profitability. Assuming you will be able to get a hold of 6 3080's in the next 3 weeks at $700 each, they would have to do close to 100Mhz on ETH to be equivalent to the 5700XT's. I seriously doubt they will even approach that number. Now granted, i totally get that Nvidia GPUs are better at mining other algos, but let's be honest... right now, all the money is in ETH mining. Maybe that ends next week (i sure hope not) but you can only go with what you have. Plus, losing 3 weeks of mining at these rates would be insanely crazy, especially since I already have it 90% bought. Personally, I am much more eager to see what the Radeon Big Navi cards are going to be capable of. That's why I will likely be holding off on building my next rig until after they are released. I have 3 more 5500xt and 2 5600xt will build a 5 card rig for about 1000 it will do about 160mh. I will be at 37 cards.

I'm thinking about the vrams....is 24gb a good investment vs 10gb? ...will there be a new coin or miner tweaks that will benefit 24gb, that is the question hehe at least my main PC will be 3090, maxed out games gobbles up 11gb vram of 1080ti, 10gb vram sucks specially now that these new tech are "true 4k gaming", 3080 is a teaser, will disappoint a lot of gamers...why? o why? 10gb hu hu hu.. 3070 is out of the question for me gddr6 vs gddr6x, 6x is the obvious winner. BTW info out there says 3070 is better than 2080ti as history suggests bull market always breaks the previous highs, that above $1000 ETH...what will be the new high? 3k? 5k? or 10k? ..buy cards or save coins or both? hmmm. these 100mhs or above hashrates will eat a huge chunk off ETH asic/fpga profits. BTW if big navi dissapoints, you lost another month of profitable mining...that's the gamble LOL

I sold all my 4G cards this week. Might regret it but I doubt it. Made a new rig, 1 5700XT, 1 5600XT, 2 570s 8G = 565 watts wall reading / 147mhs. Will we see 5-10$/GPU again ? Looks like it...At 10cents usd power even a R9 380 makes 1.20$ profit a day. Is that sustainable ? Hint: no. But lets keep it rolling til November at least, then bitcoin pump pls

Yeah i think I purchased enough cards for now.
32 on line 5 coming by thursday. brings me to 37 cards. about 1.3 gh of hash.
I think my partner has 2x 1080ti to add so close to 39 cards and 1.4gh.

Today is basically the most profitable mining day since February 2018, pretty much when ETH was >$1000. With RX 470, which is not considered efficient at all in todays terms is pulling in $3/day/GPU. Keep in mind, whats different now is that the reason why mining is so profitable is due to all this DeFI greed. People basically paying $50 to get a Defi transaction going. I think the block reward average is like 7-8 ETH just because of ETH. The average Gwei for today was like 500 or so. Which is $5 for a simple transaction even. So if the rug gets pulled the profits will quickly vanish which is more likely to happen rather than ETH crashing in price. So this time I am not planning on expanding my farm. Don't want to get stuck with GPUs that even gamers don't want to buy.

I see this as 2016 when eth got hot and leveled off. not as 2017 when eth went to the moon. I think we stay hot until usa election is done. then we could crash a bit.

1.3ghs is good, especially with high efficiency gear. It will be paid off quite soon i think.

Anyone thinking to revisit LTC mining?
Just a hunch but with BTC and ETH climbing higher.....
LTC could make a sudden jump since Top 10 coins will usually follow the gravy train (well almost all Top 10 coins)
Phil.... do you still have your L3s?
Sold my L3s a long time ago when I sold off my ASICs at Labrador.
Old alts pump have small chances of happening, defi farming is where money is going now.Charle lee started shilling it again about implementing mimblewimble with ltc but market isn't getting any traction

Its crazy times..... yummy! Thanks to all you guys who "forced" me to get my GPUs dusted and earning again.1ghs = 100$ worth of ETH per day! even Nicechash cant keep up... at 1ghs = 88$ per day. anyone knows about the new RTX-3070/3080, its suppose to be the incoming King of GPUs 1.3ghs is good, especially with high efficiency gear. It will be paid off quite soon i think.

here is a brain storm. BITCOIN (not asic miner here so if i miss something feel free to correct) 2017 antminer s9 13.5 TH @ 1300 watts 2020 antminer s19 95 TH @ 3200 watts that 2.5x power, so if we assume 2.5 x 13.5 TH is 33.75 TH 33.75 TH versus 95 TH both at 3200watts .... that's an x3 ETHEREUM 2017 1080ti ~50mh 2020 1080ti, 5700/xt, 2080ti, 2080......40-60mhs I think mhs is getting more valuable, gpu miners are dreaming of a x2 like 100mhs, x3 (~150mhs) is still unlikely but not impossible. games BTW showed up to 80% increase in 2080ti vs 3080 (drivers and mining software are not optimized yet)...optimistic to a x2 mining mhs. ETH is more pump-able compared to bitcoin, $400 to x3 is 1200$ besides inside ETH there are pumps too within it's tokens hehe. Yeah i think I purchased enough cards for now.
sideline watchers are about to join the GPU mining bandwagon when rig porn with 3080 and 3090 cards with talks of massive profits hit this forum ( NOT A FINANCIAL ADVICE THOUGH LOL ) P.S. watch out for GPU buying itch/frenzy/fiasco...coming very soon hehe

OK not buying any more 5700XTs. My MSI Gaming X died last week. My Gigabyte OC just died today. I guess DDR6 is not made to handle those high temps.
Pretty sad considering my 390s were running VRMs near 100c at times and mined 3 years no problem. My RX 470s from 4 years ago are still going strong.

I am still dusting off my 470 4gb Sapphire Nitros..... and there is lot of them. Best performer based on price/hash/power. A bunch of Gigabyte 470 4gb too but they are shit cards, most of them died first, lousy fans too. All my NVDIA (1080ti/1070ti/1060/p106), Vegas56,64 are now mining ETH fulltime. Racing to get the 480 8gb first, and then the 470s up (or maybe the other way round 470s first) The 4gb cards will eventually stop mining ETH when epoch goes beyond 4gb by mid November 2020 I havent popped my circuit breaker yet, fingers crossed. Should I even start dusting the R9-390s? Its pretty amazing that these old GPUs can still bring home the bacon.

yeah ive read em all (wait maybe i missed the 1st couple.. gotta find em now). some cool setups in your garage and den, not to mention the farms. buy new toys, play gently with them, sell some of them while the price is still near list. nice business strategy.. win/win didnt you have you have a special edition titan? like star wars edition or something in a display case? EDIT 1st thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1429151.0quote from you from the 1st thread: I don't want to go down the rabbit hole and end up with 10 pc's running 30 to 40 gpus. lol
