Anyone else thinking of dumping hardware at these prices? I've got a modest farm of around 7-8 GH/s and once I saw RX 580's break $200 I started listing them on ebay. I've sold around 30-40 so far atleast between $200, 225, and 250. I see new ones sold by Best Buy for $279.99 on ebay so I could see getting up around there but I can't imagine going much higher. Not to mention my cards are all unbranded chinese "Ethecoin" manufactured.

I just figured at $200+ you can flip 2 x 580's into 1 x 3060Ti for the same hash at half the power consumption when stock comes available within the next few months (hopefully?). I was thinking I could sit on the cash for a few months but if it's any longer it is probably smarter to just keep the cards with ROI currently at 6-7 months. Any one else got opinions on selling RX 580 8GB's at $225-250+ and or predictions on when RTX 30xx series stock will lighten up?

With 7 or 8 GHs you probably have a lot of ETH to sell with this price, almost 1k USD
It's a good idea to sell old polaris, and replace with 3060ti or 3080s, with this change you will be in a good position about Hashrate and energy, as we know, a big correction will occur, and even with a crash, you'll double the Mhs for watt in your farm, and can keep mining for more time with profit

1 polaris 580 - 30Mhs and 140w
1 3060ti - 60Mhs and 130w

I know it's hard to find new cards, but you can buy 1 or 2 pieces per week, and it's worth, Nvidias are easier to tweak, only MSI afterburner, no need to bios mod.

I've sold some of my ETH bags a few hours earlier. I think around $950 or so. I think these are the ETHs that I actually mined back in 2018 and held thru ETH going under $100 twice. So I don't want to get greedy, especially at $1000 an ETH.

I am getting worried here because it seems BTC might have peaked since alt coins are all of a sudden going up 20-30% a day. This is pretty much what started the 3 year bear market back in 2018. Bitcoin peaked and then alts peaked and then everything tanked. However the same situation happened back in November and we still kept making news high.

So this is either the BTC top or there will be one more advance and then top. However I've been saying "it might be the top" since we hit $14K last year. Hopefully I am wrong again.

I've sold some of my ETH bags a few hours earlier. I think around $950 or so. I think these are the ETHs that I actually mined back in 2018 and held thru ETH going under $100 twice. So I don't want to get greedy, especially at $1000 an ETH.

the "one more advance and then top" might be like.. the part when BTC breach the previous top of 1k and stabilize at 3k and then got up to 10k.. up to 20k spike

compared now BTC breached 20k top, where will it stabilize? will there be another "advance to the new top"?, I think BTC will hit 60k with good probability the top spike might be around 100k

for ETH..1k is just the previous top, there is a very high probability that 1k is not the new top around x10 is the new top in crypto land...10k maybe..hehehe

With eth at 1000 a coin asics will be hitting the pools like mad.

I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ how much or efficient a newly designed asic can do with eth.

But a 1gh asic machine with 16gb ram 🐏 seems build able.

And getting it to do 1200 watts also seems possible.

That would mean diff will moon 🌝

Mooning diff of eth will crash the coin.  but it could take time.

I would love 💕 Jan and Feb to be smoking hot.

yeah it may take two months to top out and crash.

I started build out of eth farm in august. well maybe late july.

I sold all my older cards.
 I will be shipping them on monday.
we cant get any cards world 🌎 wide.
so sooner or later it will crash. as shutting out gamers can only go on for six months or so.

just pulled the trigger on another 5700 for $600(im not in US but works out in dollar term)  figured what the hell, i take risks picking up covid while out to buy bread/milk might as well take a chance on this rally/price being sustainable for next 2-3months
...carry on mining as they say : )

viabtc is paying 7.38 cents an mh or

3.69 for a 50mh card

or 7.01 a day for one of my 3080 cards

that rig does 275 mh at the pool

that is 20.29 a day it uses 700 watts about 17kwatts a day at 15 cents = 2.55 so that rig makes about 18 a day after expensive power. More like 19 a day with decent power.



the s19pro makes 24.87 a day it uses 3200 watts.  and that is 77kwatts or 3.85 at 5 cents. 7.70 at ten cents  11.55 at 15 cents


I paid 2700 for that 3 card rig all parts.


We paid 2700 + tax? for the 1 s19pro that come in 3 weeks

Mining eth is killing mining btc.

I only wish I could have grabbed more  than 3 x 3080's

numbers on viabtc are nuts.

 Daily Earnings 0.00007147 ETH/M (≈PPS 159.63%)

159.63% means coins are like 988.63 x 1.5963 = $1578 usd. vs the actual 988

over 7 cents an mh = nice,but still not as good as 2017.   

 1080tis did 10-15 a day for part of 2017

the 3080 is doing 7 a day

frustrating for me being in a part of the world where our summer temperature very hot...had to downclock/undervolt and sacrifice some hashrate on a rig today on account of ambient.  2x40cm fans directed on rig with plenty windows open etc and still had mem temps running 80-84deg thats with gpu's fans tuned 75-80%

great cards so not knocking them just with weather like this need to consider diff options..and ive got another 2 months of this before it starts getting cooler

focus on cooling your mining room (keep finding ways to exhaust and intake) and make significant distance between cards (riser)

It is the most profitable day for me, with my little farm

ETH transactions are freaking expensive right now

I'm happy with my 3070 and 3080, even overpriced
But for now I'm done with shopping, no more GPUs for a while, I'd like to see the correction first
2017 was a great year to mine, all hardware were paid off, but 2018 BTC peaked, altcoin season happened and the the crash

I have to admit if I see a great deal, I'll probably buy another card, I have a 10% cashback coupon

that way you will be able to max out the room's temperature threshold, but when you maxed it out, you can't cool the cards further, it is the room that you need to vent.

and careful with your hands, those screamers can wound you.

If I could just get a decent price on like 6.  3080's. I would snap them up in a heartbeat.

I Think 61w i really low wattage, maybe give little more power and run the card with 1130/1950, most RX470 card can run 27-30Mh/s.
You havent edited straps?

Bios had 1625 straps copied up (I found a copy of the bios from 2017 labeled 'lazy 470', I seem to remember having problems with these).  

I reflashed with 1500 up, and then reinstalled adrenaline 20.4.2.

I can now run for hours with mem clock at 1849 and no GPU errors (only at 26.2 mh), but if I set to 1850, the card dies.

Powerplay BIOS table shows max mem clock at 2100

Card and memory type? and you can also share the strap?

Got your straps in, they work much better than mine.  My card can't get 30, but 29.2 is a vast improvement over where I was.

Anything higher than 1105/1960 generates a bunch of errors and rejected shares, but I will take it!

Will try to flash the other cards tomorrow.

Np, it might be the Armor cooling, its weak. You could even lower the memory little bit without losing hashrate.

For me its getting cold in here (23°F), but still the farm is just enough to heat the house
But can't go any lower with power usage or the server room temp will go too low and can't be used to heat the house. Now in 59 °F and out 86 °F.

Looks like tariffs have now hit gpu prices. Zotac, Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI all raised prices $30-$150 from what I can see. Not sure on EVGA. Hoping they assemble either in the US or Taiwan and don't have to raise prices.  Should be in line for a xc3 gaming 3080 from their que soon.

I picked up a Gigabyte Vision 3080 at a Microcenter while visiting family. Gonna be adding it on Wed. I really don't want to void the warranty and replace the thermal pads.   

It does match the rig I am putting it in.  Moving a 5700xt and a 5700 out to an open air rig.  I think I could add 2 fans on the bottom that I removed when I added the 5700.  Hoping I don't lose to much in throttling.

If I can grab a 3060ti or 3070 I have a rig with a 1660 ti and a 1060 6gb that I will sell to offset some of the upgrade cost.
