Same here.  Today's shuffle is a little disappointing.  All overpriced 6800 cards.

I put in for all of them as I would like to have at least 1 6000 series rig.

Today my overpriced high end psi card came from last weeks shuffle.

it does a  solid 60 mh at 117 watts   they stuck me with ram on this one.

and I paid a lot as it is the high end msi card.

https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-3070-rtx-3070-suprim-x-8g/p/N82E16814137620?

It is a nice card but at 809 + tax meh not so nice.

I can't find much info on how they mine - looks like 58-64 at 150watts?  at pretty high voltage compared to the 5700.  i have my 5700's at 56/MH using 88w-114w(not to the wall).

Also looks like the miners are just now starting to support the 6 series.  Think I will pass.

well 1 is enough for now.

I have a lot of cards.

13 ---5500xt
16 ---5600xt
15 ---5700xt

adding 1 amd 6000 series is okay

2x 3090
3x 3080
2x 3070
1x 3060ti

My issue is very simple my warehouse side partner will be giving me 40kwatts and a large space in addition to the 110kwatts and the space we have.

So I need cards  I don't need a shit ton of 1000 dollar 6800xt's but 1 is okay.

So far I do like nvidia the 3070 and the 3060ti seem super stable.

Yes I would love to get some 3060ti, or even 3060 in a few weeks if they actually have supply at launch.  Or more 5700's.

BTW Philipma1957,

I really like the hashrate notifications you can setup with viabtc, can tell you if you go below a certain threshold for each worker, or if you have lost a worker etc.  I installed their phone app its pretty good for monitoring your stuff.

yeah I am quarantining a lot so looking at my viabtc account  via the pc is easy. But when I was on the road the alert was very helpful.

I have 1 reference 6800 and it is mining at 58 but at least I paid the retail price for it before the hikes.  I think it came to $625 or so in the end.  I was upset back when I got it but now I realize it was a steal.

eth is paying .1147 usd at viabtc.com

anything over 0.08 is good.

Highest was .1356

hash  is up to  397.  but that is the same as sunday

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

maybe gear is really truly running out for the big boys.

The asics concern me.  Between LinZhi and Innosilicon I find it hard to believe that Bitmain doesn't have something in the works or already made.  I mean they had the E3 so there's no reason to believe that they don't have an updated version of that already or at least in the works.  But if the chip makers are all strapped that they can't keep up demand for video cards, PS5s, Xboxes, maybe the asic makers should be in the same boat trying to get manufacturing to make their miners.

I keep clocking hash rates
for eth
for btc
for ltc/doge

they are all growing far too slow compared to profits.

That will not last but while it lasts we are making out well.

Due to the craziness of the world right now it is possible 2021 we be the year of mining so bigly that it will make us smile about it for the rest of out lives.

I did this post in a different thread.

Historically, we rarely get more than 6 month of highs, so don't expect to see a dollar soon.
We may reach 60K by April or May as a maximum, but I would not be surprised if we settled for a longer time.
If what happened in 2017 were to repeat, we would witness torpor for some time and then crazy spikes.

Healthy growth requires a constant increase, slow correction like this, not crazy speculation.

But if gold is going to be bigly mined on asteroids it will devalue like mad.

gold is 11 trillion
btc is 1 trillion.

maybe in ten years

gold is 5 trillion
btc is 10 trillion

maybe people in the know see the writing on the wall for gold as king of wealth storage
Thus the real reason for btc growth is transfer of gold to btc.

If so BTC has a huge upside.

This is not a bull run. Like any other one for btc.

WE never had every day of the year beat any and all ATH for any other time in BTC other than 2009.

Look at this below

all top 47 days are in this year and no other year for all 5 currencies .

That is an historical set of numbers.

I only know that you simply can't compare this to any year ever.

Which so far is really really good.

It may be we go beyond 150k and then fall back.  Why not?

150k is 3 x what we are but we are around 1 trillion value.

gold is about  11 trillion value.

Maybe we end the year with:

btc market cap at 3.5 trillion
gold market cap at 8.5 trillion

Gold is not scarce

 https://theprint.in/opinion/giant-asteroid-has-gold-worth-700-quintillion-but-it-wont-make-us-richer/260482/

So how about the people in the know realize that gold will be easily mined and drop in value a shit ton.  Good old BTC is right there to capture that value.

To think
that today  all the  gold is worth 11 trillion
and that  all the btc is worth 1 trillion

is going to change quite a bit

In ten years maybe btc is 10 trillion and gold drops to 5 trillion. why the fuck not.

if so BTC will be 500,000 a coin

If that post is not correct BTC ETH LTC/Doge will do okay

but it it is correct precious metal won't be very precious.

A lot of money could shift to BTC .

Part of this run could be my guess above is correct and big shots are shifting from gold to BTC.

Or not  Grin

Anyone use the futures to hedge?  Hedeging can provide a coushin aganst falling priceses.  I just sold one month of minining in BTC short at 49,650, set my stop at 49550.  Small chance it will work but its cheap insurance.  I'll collect intrest and  add to my position if prices fall.

I'm going to put toghter some sort of system of hedging, long or short.  Also need to hedge aganst rising prices, mining equipment prices rise with crypto.

Yes you have been able to hedge your mining profits ever since margin trading was available in crypto, so if I recall Bitfinex was the first exchange to offer margin trading. So if you are making good money when ETH is $1900. Go and sell it on margin, or use a future exchange and sell it on their perp contracts or dated futures. Currently for June futures you will get a 10% premium so instead of $1900 you would get $2100 per ETH.

So if price falls... you make more mining than if you didnt hedge.
If price stays the same you make slightly more because you got the  10% premium
If price goes to like $3000 ETH and difficulty skyrockets you are losing money this way.

No way to hedge against hashrate and difficiulty jumps.

Spent time looking at hashrate, and then missed it.

Got to learn Crypto is backward:

Buy it, THEN research it.  If no good, then return it!

Grabbed 2!  I have the non xt version of this card and I think I paid around $315 or $329 last summer.  eBay has a used one for $660 with just under 2 days left.  Probably will go for $800 or so.  Just crazy
