Can the S2 be used with 2 PSU's Huh  So I can split the load to 2 separate 110v outlets,on the same circuit of course,so as to not get 220v  Cool

I have 24pin switches & can order a 24pin adapter to have both PSU's act as one  Wink

Just received my lone S2. I can confirm that the straps on the box do nothing but entice the driver to sling it around 1-handedly as I watched the man grab it and bounce it off the 2-steps of his truck. The package is well worn around the edges for just 3-day trip and has nice rip into the side. Unboxing now. Bad note, I can hear things rolling around inside the box already. Sad
Do any of the deliveries have a fragile sticker on the box at all? It doesn't sound like they're being handled appropriately.

so fast questions.

who has one mining at btcguild ?

who has one getting 1th ?

who has one at 950 watts or less?

So far from what I read I am not that impressed.

Seems to me a 2x s-1 under clocked to 300 gh pulling 300 watts

 would have been:

 A easier to make
 B cheaper to ship
C  fit in a much smaller case

Frankly I think they fucked up.

They will need a 1200 watt psu or sell it with out one .

Here is a prediction buying these psu's at amazon  will allow for one to be marked up to 400 from 290.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JG5LSN8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1   this psu is basically the same as a corsair ax1200i .

after reading the thread  i ordered one of these .  I already see these marked way the fuck up

I would really like to know how you get a S1 to 150GH using only 150 Watt!!

You can replace the PSU with 2 blade server PSUs. I think it has space to fit them.

AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) Batch 2
Price:      3599 USD ( 8.065 BTC )

AntMiner S1  180GH/s
AntMiner S1 - 0.893BTC

1000/180=  5.56
AntMiner S2 = 6 AntMiner S1
8.065 BTC > 6 x 0.893BTC

8.065 BTC >  5.36 BTC

so buy AntMiner S2 or 6 AntMiner S1 ?
will be ROI if buy AntMiner S2 or 6 AntMiner S1?

Power is a factor here.  6 S1s will use more power, and generate more heat, than 1 S2 will.  If heat and power isn't a factor in your equation, then the S1s make more sense.

Seriously, what were these bozos thinking by puting a sub-1000w PSU for a 1000+w application?

For anything in the 1000w mark, look no further than these 3:

http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Professional-Digital-Modular-Platinum/dp/B008Q7HUR
http://www.amazon.com/ANTEC-HCP1300PLATINUM-1300W-Plus-Platinum/dp/B00G2CQH6Q
http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-CrossFire-Certified-ST1500/dp/B002BH3Z84

Also, I have 2 words for any serious ASIC miner, that worries about temp and noise:

IMMERSION COOLING
Anything else, is insanity.
10-30% of mining energy costs are wasted on crappy cooling methods.
Throw away the box and get a tank and a bunch of mineral oil.
PC Overclockers and datacenter CIOs have been doing this for years.

You also forgot to factor in 3000w worth of PSU, or something close to that if you intend on over clocking.  My two S1's are pulling in over 900w combined.

All of our ants @ 393mhz get 200GH/s, and pull 410W at the wall with an 80 Plus Gold 750W Rosewill PSU, which is right at 90% efficient at. That means our Ants are pulling 370W from the PSU, and this includes removing the blue/white wires from the fans so they're running at 100%.

If your 2 ants are pulling 900W, that means your PSU is only 82% efficient. You get a better (more efficient) PSU, and your power use drops down to 820W.

Its worth noting that whent he S2 Batch 2 first went on sale, BTC was significantly higher (I think it was only ~6.2BTC when i ordered). Makes the price comparison more reasonable.

Also, it seems like the S2 can achieve 1.15TH/1.25kW without much more than an extra PSU wattage. If so, you now have the same hashrate as 6xS1, but for about 1.1kW less power consumption

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

I would really like to know how you get a S1 to 150GH using only 150 Watt!!

There is a thread with a lot of info on how to undervolt and underclock an s-1.  Right now diff and power do not call for the mod.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526060.0

this thread describes a how to  that achieved  140gh and 160 watts.

Now since bitmain built the s-1 and the s-2 and used the same chips  they should be able to improve on the mod above.
I have 7 s-1's  when diff gets to 26000 mill at my power price of 16 cents a kwatt and if btc is 450 usd they will be break even.  So i will attempt this mod.   if my 7 machines drop to 980 gh and drop to  1120 watts they would still earn money at 16 cents a kwatt and 450 btc.   until diff pushes 38000 mill

I use 805 watts and I have no issues with this psu.  it is the best for 2 s-1s overclocked.

Just to reiterate: the S1 does not come with a power supply, the S2 does. You need to add the cost of PSUs for your 6x S1s. Also the price of BTC at the time the S2 was on sale, as someone else has mentioned.

It doesn't really make sense to talk about the price of S2 at the moment since they are not for sale (yet). When batch 3 is opened I imagine they will be cheaper than batch 1 or 2.

Run a Bitcoin node, support the network.

It isn't worth the time and added expense for .075 BTC per day that an S2 will generate.
