Um.
I know exactly how much it costs to ship the S1/S2 from China to the US, I ve received well over 2k of them.
Also you cant get 2 day air from china, they use Express Saver witch is technically up to 3 business days but no guarantees. Bitmain doesnt pay the EU customs- its paid by the receiver.

Does it make a difference in price to ship a pallet or less than a pallet?
In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Thats the nature of the beast these days and there is nothing we can do about it. ASIC manufacturers can make more money mining than they can selling their equipment...off bitmain topic, but wait for the KNC scrypt miners, KNC will mine with them until the LTC difficulty becomes so high, then offload them onto the customers with little to no hope of ROI...

They didn't do that with the Oct/Nov batches of Jupiters & Saturns. Why do you think they would with the scrypt ones?

just a hunch, LTC is at a different place in its lifecycle compared to where BTC is. Just crunch some numbers and would make complete sense to do it, heck id do it in their place. but anyway this is a Antminer S2 thread...

They didn't do it then because they needed to build credibility to start the ponzi scheme.  Now they have good reputation they can take 25 million in neptune orders and max out the time frame.

Alot of people were bitching so they made a new scheme with scrypt miners. The only catch is no refunds.  So for those who dont know that means they can basically hold your money forever.

Right now, a S2 earns $31 dollars a day and that number will go down 15% in two days.

It makes zero financial sense for Bitmain or the buyer to pay for faster shipping if it ends up costing more than $31 extra per day saved.

I think it's perfectly okay for bitmain to mine before selling and shipping. It's not like you paid them money for a preorder and they use your money to build miners, mine on them, then ship it to you months late.
Bitmain is different than other ASIC's companies. They are trying to setup a win-win situation for themselves and customers. Sounds good to me.

Agreed. They are the fairest asic company I have dealt with.  One of the few that actually has product on hand to sell.

I think the s1 will go down in history as the last great asic machine for the masses.  I should edit the wiki later this summer.

No its not and you wrong. As if miner is build and announced for sale it should be new, not used and against their own tos.
When i ordered my first s1 i was happy like kid. but when u getting used item which is overclocked where this will void warranty if anything will happen, its not that great anymore.
We are in s2 thread, so acctually people paid shit loads of btc for preorder of units like other bfl or knc.
Once units was delivered problems started to piled up.
Sorry but you wrong.
S1 didnt appear from nowhere. They had them long time before they start selling them.
s2 as well and probably now they have kit which is more efficient than s1 and s2

Im not saying anything about delivery etc. bitmain is well above any other asics company. But i dont see why they should mine with my miner or miner wich is mining for weeks and then when i will made order they sending me that miner...Just saying.

You can't really calculate in $ due to the price fluctuations... with 1TH/s, you should be making just under 0.08btc/day until the next diff change.

If you're new to BTC Guild, it'll take some time for your daily earnings to increase.

I agree, and would add that they certainly shouldn't be lying about the product being new (which they did, repeatedly) even when faced with questions as to why fans were worn out (from overuse) and heatsinks caked with dust.

BTCG's luck (my luck?) has been horrendous lately. I finally had to take my hash to GHash.io. Don't worry though, now that I'm not at BTCG, the pool luck is guaranteed to instantly and dramatically improve. And if someone reading this is currently mining at GHash.io, it might be time for you to move to a different pool. I'm sure to ruin it for everyone.   Undecided

Still don't understand why people mine on either of those pools.  Eligius is fine minus a few stalled payout glitches.  Slush has been bulletproof as of late, and even Bitminter has been on an absolute TEAR recently.

Bitmain keeps tweeting that whoever has bought S1s recently will get coupons.  I have yet to see the coupons.  Has anybody else out there received coupons recently for S1 purchases?

No but what is recently?

 I purchased
3-19 for .988
3-21 for .938
3-26 for .893
4-24 for .630
4-24 for .630

My guess is I have surrounded the 'recent'  qualify for a  coupon dates     with the 3-26 (too long ago)    and  (too recent) 4-24 dates.

But  that is just a guess.

Yeah, not sure what "recent" is either.  I would guess that purchases in April are sufficiently recent.

I have just received the second batch S2 today (in Spain) and the unit was totally destroyed.

i opened the box expecting to put back in some connector or board, but I just get shocked when I openened the box:

So I have to put all the boards out, put by force all the bented pci slots and fans connector right again, connect every fan, pci and even the ethernet connector from the beagleboard to the fron of the case. Then one by one put back the boards, but as you can see in the pictures one side of the boards holder is totally destroyed. I don't know who the smart at bitmain has designed the boards holder, but holding so much heavy boards by plastic holders that can be taken out so easy from the chassis is just ridiculous. Why you build so strong chassis if you then put plastic holders that simply pop in the holes, not even with a screw ?

Now what, some type of compensation ? At least a replace of the broken piece and some compensation I expect. I am lucky that after all the miner is hashing right at 1-1.1 TH/s

Top fucking kek

avoid this fucking shit until Bitmain gets their shit together

Who the fuck wants non-wifi bitcoin miners??!@?!@?!?!!

Not me l0l!!  Who the FUCK wants the NOISE and HEAT!!!!!

Hey Bitmain, time to start making miners with wifi compatibility then maybe I would consider purchasining!!>?!!>?>!?!   IF its the right price you greedy bastards!!!!!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hardly anyone speaks English on this forum.
