Thanks!

My board already has the capacitors installed so i'll just wait a few days to see if they re-enable.

First of all, try some serveral reboots to see if the problem persist. After that i suggest you a factory reset (you can easily do that by pressing the button beside the frontal display)

Thank you all for your help!

I switched some boards and modified to fans to run @ 100% (it will be placed in a datacenter so i don't care about the noise). Temperatures are much lower now and i don't see the errors!

Everything works fine now, however the miner goes back to its default pool when restarted. Is there a config file that can be edited through ssh that automatically loads the correct (changed) default after a reboot or power down?

~ Luc

@psjw440
I would suggest you do not modify your miner if you lack the skills or knowledge.
- Open the case
- All four fans have a four wire connection to the main board (red, black, white and blue).
- Remove the blue wire from the connection.
- All four fans will spin @ 100% which produces a lot of noise and may reduce the lifespan of your fans.

I had this situation, i took out the board and upon closer examination found thermopaste (grey) all over the bottom portion. Upon removal of the paste using a Q-tip (famous Q-tip tech  Wink), i re-seated the board and it worked fine. If this would not work, exchange the location of some boards and make sure that they are seated "all the way". In >90% cases, this should do it.

I have to following asic status in my S2 on chain 2:
Asic status
-------- -------- -------- -------- oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo

Other chains:
oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo

What does the ------- mean?

~ Luc

Sometimes software reboots don't clear the X/dashes for me, and I have to power it off and then back on to get it back to all Os.  SSH to it, do a shutdown -H 0, then power it off for a min or so, then power it back on.

What are people's thoughts about starting mining with one of these for $1450 after coupon starting in the beginning of July?
Wish I had more information as to the cost of the S3 and cost to upgrade the s2 in the future.

Lot of hashing power just hit the network a few days ago. Will result in around 20% or more increase in difficulty and with some of the  KNC Neptunes "shipping" this month, that might push it a little further.  Might be best to wait to see what is offered with the S3 so that you will have a miner that lasts longer.

However if the upgrade path for the S2 is very cheap and reasonable then that might change things

For those planning to upgrade their S2's . Do you think Bitmain will provide the below parts to use the old hashing boards  instead of having them sit on a shelf ?

Would be nice, if they could sell the following only:
Quote
      1 Power Board;
       1 set of IO Board + BB Board + SD card;
       2 sets of Fans + Fans’ cover;
       1 LCD screen;
