ANTMINER S2 Discussion and Support Thread

I received a unit today that all the cards were all over the place. 3 of the connectors were bent and a 4th was ripped off completely.  Also 2 of the fan pins were mangled.  I emailed bitmain and asked for a refund as the unit has no hope of being repaired.

Happily it is mining away at 1 Th/s after an hour. Please please please fix how you ship the S2, because cards shouldn't be sloshing about in transit.

Mine arrived way worse .. had to RMA at least 3 board .. still waiting for new boards.

Out of S1 coupons.

My S2 batch 2 has been hashing stably since it was delivered in April.
Today I suddenly see the hash rate fluctuate wildly, going down to 300gh then back up to 1100gh and so on.

I'll investigate when I get home. Has anyone seen this behavior?

Compared to the other miners I have in my farm (Bitfury, A1's, S1's), it seems the S2 submits a disproportionate amount of duplicate shares.

Has anyone else noticed this, and aware of possible solutions ? Isolated case ?

I'm using a few s2s on ghash.io, and yes, they are producing an higher rate of duplicated shares, compared to the previus mining situation.
Do you have the latest firmware on your ant?

Unfortunately yes: s1s made in 24 hours 0 duplicated shares, s2s have made an average of 12k duplicated shares

Thanks for the data.  Could the throughput be to blame?  Sheer numbers of calculations requested to hash?

Same here: discarded shares number is proportionally a lot higher compared to an s1, but they are below the 1% psychological threshold
